  1. If you're going to merit your own thread, you BETTER be a threat to become a Top 5-10 player in all of MLB.
  2. Not jumping. Well the assumption here is that we all follow the team closely enough on a day to day basis to recognize who's hot and who's not. But clearly this losing streak is causing some to tune out or temporarily disconnect for psychological self-preservation or maybe it's protection purposes.
  3. Feels like even odds to go to 8 in a row with Keuchel on the mound...with some now positing that he's deliberately pitching his way to a DFA so that he can hit his innings quota and lock in another $20 million for next year for another team. The main positive is a home game...but sparsely attended weeknight/day games with at least 1/3rd of the fans in more of a mood to be rather than cheer.
  4. Why do you think? We are one of the insular organizations in the big leagues. Outsiders' perspectives are not particularly welcomed or appreciated.
  5. Torii Hunter too, just for old times' sake. Lew Ford/Denny Hocking/Albert Blanco could occupy another spot.
  6. If JR's loyalty to TLR >>> winning another World Series title, all the fans of this franchise are in for a world of hurt. JR the Businessman has to be objective enough to realize the consequences of a failed rebuild are not catastrophic or tragic but something close to devastating for fans who were so invested in the process and storytelling over the past 5-6 years. It would largely wipe out a future generation of young Sox fans in Chicago.
  7. Does it help or hurt building interest in baseball...especially among young people or teenagers? I can think of worse things that mlb.com does.
  8. Konerko and Ventura both seem like they prefer to be around youth or high school teams...especially as it relate/s to their kids. AJ Pierzynski is the ex player who gets brought up the most, arguably. Jim Thome doesn't seem like he wants that kind of responsibility either.
  9. Foodies say clubhouse in disarray so it must be true!
  10. Sure, but we heard pretty consistently that the White Sox offseason wasn't all that bad because the team was universally ranked Top 5 by every publication coming into April.
  11. Vaughn has arguably been their most dangerous hitter.
  12. See 2012 following 2011...and nobody has claimed Ventura to be even an average manager. For whatever reason, a team of 13 rookie pitchers and Chris Sale suddenly played great defense for most of that year and a rookie closer in Reed almost got to the postseason after a disastrous 2011.
  13. Well, that's what teams have done with guys like Garrett Richards, but it hasn't exactly worked out according to plan.
  14. But isn't this next FA class universally derided? A playoff miss means a significant fall off in attendance. Is it more likely they cut payroll or double down with their spending behind a new manager? I think most Sox fans would go with the former rather than the latter.
  15. Just twice in MLB history though for WS winning teams. 83-79 Cardinals lost eight consecutive games TWICE...1953 Yankees lost nine in a row in early July, that's the record. So historical odds not in their favor despite how weak or vulnerable the entire division looks, overall.
  16. Well, he was basically hitting off one leg...?
  17. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-power-rankings-2022-week-3 Twins swept the White Sox and fell from 19 to 22???
  18. Compare career fWARs. Or fWAR/season. Or fWAR/game x 162.
  19. They're 1 game back. At best it dampens the walk up attendance for the Royals series. Then again fans will be curious about losing streak...and how long it can possibly continue.
  20. Well, at least Bradley was interesting when they had Hershey Hawkins. As an added bonys, you have Abraham Lincoln on your side. And some StL Cardinals fans who are confused by the similar logos.
  21. Scapegoating Leury hardly seems like the solution. The studs need to be in the field and they need to start producing as paid and expected to. Leury is not the one coming out of the bullpen blowing leads. He is responsible for the White Sox giving him a three year contract instead of just 1 with an option?
  22. Should be more of a worry when he opts IN, lol.
  23. The 2016 team started off quite well at 23-10. Never had the opportunity to manage anything approximating a really good team. He was better than Bevington because he's a.classy individual...took one for JR...and didn't embarrass the organization as much as some of our personnel moves backfiring did.
  24. Sheets in RF 2/3rds of the time next to Robert just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
