  1. Of course. Mercedes has cooled off, as was completely inevitable. Can't remember seeing this lack of clutch hitting from even the punch-less 1985-1988 Chicago White Sox.
  2. Don't think there's any point to even watch the bottom of the 9th if they don't score here, lol...
  3. Abreu's trying to hit one 500 feet against his fellow countryman.
  4. This has to be the most insane opening series ever.
  5. This is INSANE. Four runs scoring without the benefit of a hit.
  6. Why do I see Madrigal getting thrown out on the basepaths somehow? Or trying to score.
  7. Almost completely screwed up that play at 1st. A-Rod's right that Madrigal would have been dead to rights at 2nd.
  8. Let's see, how can we screw this one up? No straight steals...and Leury's not going to make contact on a hit and run, so forget that idea.
  9. That would be the funniest thing of this entire series (along with three runs scoring on WP/PB/errors) is Ruiz being the most effective pitcher out of the bullpen.
  10. It's not that five years before he came to the White Sox. It's these next three seasons that matter. The Dodgers have a really good sense about their player evaluations, and nobody was willing to give him a long-term deal the year before. We've seen the steep cliff that catchers fall off in their mid 30's.
  11. Then you can cancel the rebuild. Both Moncada and Robert have to play as advertised or Abreu will get old and we'll eventually lose Giolito and Anderson. That means that 2 of Kopech/Crochet/Cease have to somehow become elite starters to make up for it. That's asking a LOT.
  12. They think he's a better shot to get on and steal/steal than for Vaughn or Lamb to take him deep? Or they're not sure if Lamb could actually play LF the next half inning?
  13. Hamilton SHOULD know that his whole responsibility is to take and foul off as many pitches as possible....4 pitch inning is pretty inexcusable. And never let Luis Robert face Raisel Iglesias again. Thankfully they are teammates if there's another WBC in the future.
  14. That's a good idea. Then everyone can come down with Covid long enough to get Tim Anderson back to 100% and re-set this season. (Make sure to hide Yoan Moncada in one of those CIA-inspired safe rooms.)
  15. 5 out save this early in the season is a gutsy move by Maddon...this will be his 3rd appearance in 4 games already.
  16. Grandal joining the cast of veteran players not to come through in key situations this game.
  17. A-Rod, why would the White Sox try to rebuild when they've been doing that for five years?
  18. If you take away those inflated numbers against the Royals and Tigers, how good was our offense, really? You can say the same thing for the Twins over the last 2-3 seasons, putting up all those homers and fizzling in the postseason. Yesterday, Bummer was held back to save the game...instead of being used, now he's going to be used in the 7th of a game we're trailing? They're being that selective about using Michael Kopech?
  19. How many relievers have the Rays produced in the last five years? My god...it's boring baseball, but it's quite effective, and the only practical way to compete with the Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays...on that shoestring budget.
  20. We better score in the 8th, because we're unlikely to score off Iglesias...if your MVP can't come through in that situation, don't know what you can do or say.
  21. Abreu never saw Slegers well. RISP issues continue.
  22. Pujols is being treated like late 80's Canseco/McGwire this series...
  23. They might as well bring back Yonder Alonso to demonstrate that same 4-3 put-out for the rest of the LH hitters to emulate.
