Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
I would argue your likelihood of surviving in Silicon Valley, coding, CS, e-sports, etc., after age 50-55…pretty much slim and none. Maybe business and finance, but how many 45+ quants are thriving? In the executive suite, sure, there’s always going to be a handful. Politics, sure…tenure and gerrymandering have their perks, along with name recognition building over time. But look at the trend with GM’s/Asst. Gm’s in MLB the last 20-30 years…must be in 20s, 30s, 40s. Same with most new NFL coaching hires in the last decade. There are a always recycled dinosaurs with plenty of experience, but few guys now have the energy to work 14-18 hour days anymore. Coach K is one notable exception in college BB, but even thst finally caught up with him causing numerous health problems. Urban Meyer is another guy who comes to mind. Sports is for young people now, When I was growing up, lots of players made it to 35 and even 40 or beyond like Ryan, Jamie Moyer and Vizquel. Those exceptions are increasingly rare today. All that said, the White Sox are one of the most loyal organizations in professional sports and routinely have guys with careers well into their 50’s, with quite a few 60’s and 70’s…at least moreso than the typical team.

Do you really believe that length will stand up to appeals/lawsuits?

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
Wonder if Allen Thomas will be called to testify? I would imagine that the convenient narrative that asserted Hermie was the greatest (actually a competitive advantage for the Sox versus other teams) and that both Ball and Thomas were responsible for most of the health problems is not exactly holding up well now. At least not based on the impressive spate of injuries the Sox have suffered over the last two seasons.

Too scary to be in agreement with KyYle, but no choice on this one…yikes. (Although I do think looking back retrospectively we reached a bit of a premature conclusion on Bauer. MLB still doesn’t even know what to do, so they keep on punting the problem down the road…a proverbial hot potato.)

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
So your advice is that everyone needs to remain neutral...and in all likelihood never know the details or whether Hahn is being (rightfully or out of loyalty again) shielded by JR?

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
They certainly had to have thought this through carefully and considered the possibility of having to come forward into the public eye...

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
Have any employees in baseball who potentially lost positions in the industry due to Covid won lawsuits? The White Sox are theoretically a quasi public entity due to subsidies from the State of Illinois..

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
With the Supreme Court's current make up, that might be a much easier case to win...if you can get the case out of Illinois somehow. Discrimination over conscientious objection to unproven (over the longer term) and still/just EUA vaccines.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
Did Dave Wilder ever file a lawsuit against the team based on sexual orientation discrimination? He was actually protected until the very end by KW at risk to his career and reputation.

2022 MLB catch all thread
Rendon isn't too bad himself.

Fair enough. Just happy that Graveman didn't have to make another pitch. Relieved. And I guess it was still bailed out in the sense that in the past, there was no replay system and the reversal would never have been possible and game play would have continued on after the incorrect call.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Or the old Dunkin' Donuts guy...."time to make the donuts." Amazing how much more modern the image of that franchise is right now, compared to the 80's or 90's.

Well, this is the exact same argument about Tatis, Jr. I think it's fair to say between Buxton/Correa and Robert/Moncada...whichever grouping plays the most and puts up the most fWAR for the the remainder of the season is going a long way towards deciding the eventual fate of the division. Buxton has already earned his $10 million for this season at 1.6 fWAR. (Time will tell if Carlos Rodon, likewise, will earn his $22 million if he can't finish the season out for whatever reason.)

Bailed out means not whether the call was right or wrong here...but that we didn't have to pitch to Hedges with the bases loaded. Obviously the odds were minuscule he was going to hit a GS, but for those who watched last night's debacle...anything seemed possible all of a sudden.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
Thought it was going to be against the organization for their off season moves...by a group of season ticket holders. Wow...just read the allegations. Seems very personal with Hahn, obviously there are two sides that will emerge at trial...if it gets that far.

Looks more like Jerry Narron. Definitely not Katz, he's too scruffy. Or is that the "Where's the Beef?" Wendy's lady 30 years later?

Yeah, but 1.6 versus 0.7 fWARs. Just goes to show how impactful he is when in the lineup, and conversely how much the Twins suffer when he's out. Btw, Machado right now is dominating all of MLB in that stat, leading Arenado and Jose Ramirez 2.8 to 2.0. Trout and teammate Taylor Ward at 1.9.

Robinson Cano
Cuban/Latin connection, lol. Yes, I realize he's not from there, but the White Sox have perhaps the most dominant Latino clubhouse leadership/vibe (other than TA7, Lucas and Liam) of any team in baseball.

Have you ever watched the t.v. series based on the comic "Doom Patrol," lol?

GT: Guardians at White Sox, Game 2 - 7:10 CT
Should have been thinking about the win for your boy Giolito after one of his best outings of the season where he finally was able to consistently mix in the slider as a 3rd viable pitch to keep them off the changeup and FB.

How bad can you be on defense and still make the postseason?
Well, apparently they played a great game tonight on defense (Moncada particularly) with the exception of Abreu on the very last/controversial play of the game. Whatever led to that in the clubhouse, do more of that.

Against the INDIANS this year. And the whole mentality of the team/bullpen mindset. I wasn't referring to the winning streak. And yes, if we would have blown this one and gone down 5-0 against the Guardians to start the year with VV going tomorrow, that would have felt a lot like bleeding to me.

I just have the audio feed, which is more nerve-wracking trying to interpret the responses in the thread since there's a slight delay here.

Austin Hedges hitting a grand slam there...about as random a guy as anyone to pull it off, that would have been ALMOST as bad as last night. But 8-2 up last night and then having multiple chances with two outs to get out of it, then blowing two bases loaded situations in the 9th and 10th was something you see only once every 40 years or so.
