  1. How does Dexter Fowler get a single there...Giolito clearly didn't field it cleanly. Shouldn't the home scorer (Rosenberg) be a bit friendlier?
  2. Wainright potentially getting just 50 pitches in this start.....13-14 left. Okay, there's 1 run.
  3. Feels like they REALLY need to score at least 1 run here to stay engaged in the game...
  4. Going to need more out of Mendick than a 643 OPS if the rest of the line-up isn't going to live up to expectations...because his defense is at best, slightly below average, overall. RIGHT ON CUE, lol...
  5. It would have been nice had we been smart enough to pick up, say, Sonny Gray or Lance Lynn.
  6. I was honestly trying to attain an 85-90% rate, sorry to disappoint...but this entire game so far has been exactly that, a HUGE/IMMENSE/MASSIVE/COLOSSAL disappointment. Oh, well.
  7. Right now, Anderson's the only one over an 800 OPS. Moncada close at .790, but we were supposed to be a pretty scary offense when everyone was clicking together. Once again, continues the trend of not being able to get a clutch hit with RISP, especially with two outs. Another of the dreaded LHB pulled to 2B highlights.
  8. On the plus side, nobody will care that much when their careers flame out, compared to the Dark Knight & Co.
  9. Jimmy Edmonds is such a jackass. A trail of ex-wives and cheating and now he's got something like 7 kids at home trying to blend them into a single household. YUCK.
  10. Jack, Jack, Jack...plenty of times when pitchers just don't have it and they get bailed out, bottom line is really good pitchers get of that inning by retiring Dexter Fowler with an 0-2 count. Extra rest of not playing for 3 days or whatever excuses we might hear in between games, just not buying it at all.
  11. Nice play by Robert. Usually you see guys get stuck in the ground and then they lose their focus on the ball, very smooth there.
  12. Byrd vs. Contreras. And Jose was pretty much the best pitcher in baseball taking the mound that night, had a long streak of not losing a game that extended into May, 2006, when he got hurt coming off the mound to cover 1st and hurt his Achilles' tendon in Cincinnati.
  13. This is the polar opposite of that early-season series in 2006 when we just completely destroyed the Cardinals....already dreading the Field of Dreams but seems we won't have Central again, so no idea who the logical opponent would be in 2021.
  14. Now we're relegated to hoping and praying for a second game rainout so we don't get swept again in a DH. 2-6 at home, looking easily like 2-7. How do you manage that?
  15. What's embarassing is how Badler was hustling so much (after 3 weeks off) when Anderson took his time and almost gifted them yet another run....NO SENSE OF IMMEDIACY. YET AGAIN, here we are, coming out completely flat as a pancake.
  16. Good question...f'in Renteria sucks ass in managing a team, plain and simple.
  17. Hadn't had a lead in a series since July 26th. Were wiped out by the Twins the following series, never had a lead the entire time.
  18. "This is a great great inning for the Cardinals." Great analysis, Jim Edmonds.
  19. We have no choice but to add pitching this offseason, if we ever want to be a legitimate playoff contender....meaning aspirations to actually win a series rather than just being merely sastified to get there.
