  1. There are a lot of candidates forming there now. You've got Detwiler (pretty low confidence), Foster (anything is possible), Lopez and/or Rodon, etc. Of course, there's another big question for 2021. Who is going to be the closer, and do we spend any money on that? Have a feeling we're not going to overpay, KW/Hahn having learned that lesson in the past... Bummer Burdi (can't believe I'm typing that, probably overreacting) and Heuer LHR (need to acquire), Fry for now E. Marshall J.Cordero/Foster Detwiler/Rodon/Lopez/Flores/Dunning (swingster) Then you've got all those young kids like Stiever/Dahlquist/Thompson and the 2020/21 draft classes.
  2. This is a time for transparency. Specifics. Consider this: If myocarditis is tied to COVID-19 and offers a frightening prospect for athletes, why are the NBA, MLB (and soon) and NFL playing? It’s a question worth asking. But on Tuesday, that would have been a fruitless exercise, too. It’s not fair to compare Warren to the legendary Delany, who ruled with an old-school fist. But the former Big Ten boss also elicited a certain trust. He would do it right. The Big Ten now resembles 14 presidents ruling the roost with Delany retired in his North Carolina cabin. And a commissioner who looks like their front man. Not a good one, either. If you’re Nebraska, it doesn’t conjure a lot of trust in the Big Ten. In fact, with Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan coaches also defying the Big Ten, the league looks less and less unified all the time. https://omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/teams/football/shatel-is-this-the-beginning-of-the-end-of-nebraska-in-the-big-ten/article_ef5bd995-3b11-5967-8e32-6d6cff4a1cab.html#tracking-source=home-trending All the speculation has Nebraska going back to the Big 12. Interesting. As an Oklahoma fan, losing that series has been tought to take. As an Iowa fan, its been a good series for the Hawkeyes, but still consider Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa State and even Minnesota bigger rivalry games.
  3. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/04/2020-21-mlb-free-agent-class-starting-pitchers.html Another name that I couldn't fit into the poll, Mike Minor, who had a great comeback 2019 season but is really strugglng out of the gate in his first four starts in 2020. 1. Giolito 2. FA/Trade 3. Keuchel 4. Cease 5. Kopech/Lopez/Rodon/Dunning Stiever, Thompson, Dahlquist, Flores, Crochet, Kelley, etc. Lambert?

  5. No out pitch. Almost every tool in his arsenal can be fouled off until the batter sees a better pitch to drive somewhere.
  6. “ Eloy, you need to tumble awkwardly into the netting more frequently while balls are in play!!!”
  7. I wish, I was a "Soccer God" (inside joke about the long hair) and our Intramurals basketball team was nicknamed The Calculus Gods, although I was the only one in Math Analysis because I hated math (except statistics.)
  8. After more testing tmrw and Friday. Saturday moved to 6 pm start to allow another round of tests early SAT morning. Suppose they could lose SAT/SUN too, but decision wouldn’t occur until mid-day on Saturday. Cardinals desperate to get restarted again, just not 100% that Friday will work for asymptomatics.
  9. https://www.mlb.com/video/luis-robert-doubles-5-on-a-sharp-line-drive-to-right-fielder-victor-reyes-tim-an Guess that one was about 380 feet...the fence marker there is 365’. Didn’t get all of it, but enough.
  10. Test passed, so far. Next test is avoiding a Covid outbreak with the Cardinals and mass cancellations.
  11. Didn’t realize that Robert double only missed a grand slam by 2-3 feet in one of the deepest parts of the ballpark. Thought it was off the base of the wall originally.
  12. Colome nasty there, shades of Jose Contreras forkball with the diving and darting action. Thoughts and prayers to DET hitters in the late afternoon. Closed to just 1/2 game behind CLE and DET.
  13. Do you remember how good Richards was with the Angels before the injuries? He's getting closer and closer to being the same pitcher.
  14. That was a nasty slider bearing in on him...oh, well. That might have been the hit of the early season for the White Sox, the bases clearing double coming off a 2/25 slump.
  15. Making Robert look overmatched the first two pitches. Too overeager. Great block by Greiner, also runs well for a catcher, been impressed.
  16. 18 months ago, it seemed like Lucas Giolito was on the way out of baseball. Someone with that kind of stuff, sometimes everything just clicks in the right situation.
  17. MLB Trade Rumors has Mike Minor and Jose Quintana in TIER 1, along with Tanaka. Not going there with them, not based on how Minor's throwing, and Q's impossible to value right now. Tanaka unlikely to leave NY. Could see him going back to JPN or retiring, but likely figure out a way to stay with the Yankees for less money.
  18. Gausman in recent days has been upper 90's and looks like a poor man's Wheeler or another version of Lucas Giolito...put him on a winning team, without any pressure?
  19. Love the ENGEL goggles. RR listening about pulling EE late in games for PR/defensive.
  20. Stroman/Bauer/Gausman/Ray/Paxton/Garrett Richards T.Walker/A.Wood/Quintana/Tanaka/Odorizzi There's 11. Tier 1. Tier 2. Don't see Tanaka leaving NY, and a pitcher with diminishing stuff heading into the backside of his career doesn't seem a wise pitcher to overpay for. Ray strikes out a ton, but usually only goes 4-6 innings and always leads to early bullpen games. Throws way too many pitches. Better for fantasy than a real team, IMO.
  21. Depends what their assessment of the Kopech situation is both, mentally and physically. Gio, Keuchel, Cease, Kopech, Lopez/Dunning/Rodon should be enough to at least start the season. 2022 is when they would probably add, but then you have Crochet/Kelley starting to move into the picture as well.
  22. C'mon, you have him down 0-2, don't MESS around and lose him.
  23. Foulke for a while might have had the best change-up in the game...don't really see Marshall as a closer type, but who knows. He does have a lot of Kirby Yates to his arsenal. Doesn't blow you away, but has the right pitch for the right situation usually.
  24. Wowww....thought that was fair for sure. Don't really feel like Marshall's success is going to be all that sustainable in pressure-packed situation as the season goes on. Well, got the strikeout there. Picked right spot to bring back the FB.
