  1. Second Basemen Scooter Gennett (30) Addison Russell (26) Devon Travis (29) Ben Zobrist (39) Brian Dozier?
  2. That coincides with the beginning of the global pandemic. More competition, Ron’s wilting in the sun like Dutch tulips...
  3. That might get you a foot in the door at Manpower...
  4. And I’m handing out trophies like the Blue Light Special at K-Mart...
  5. President Trump called for additional stimulus checks to be sent to Americans amid stalled talks with Democrats over a new bill to address various issues related to the coronavirus pandemic. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that another round of stimulus checks should be included in any legislation, which is stalled after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) ceded the GOP-side of negotiations to the White House and Trump attempted to bypass negotiations with unilateral action on a looming eviction crisis, student loans, extra weekly unemployment benefits, and payroll taxes. The president tweeted that he had directed Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin “to get ready to send direct payments ($3,400 for family of four) to all Americans.” The tweet added that Democrats are holding up the stimulus payments, though there are several actual disagreements unrelated to stimulus checks. https://www.yahoo.com/money/coronavirus-stimulus-checks-trump-tweet-172756371.html Seems like a plan to blow up the debt to $30 trillion which will be withdrawn November 4th...then Trump will spend the next four years complaining about the debts he created for the American people
  6. They already had Senzel, Moustakas and Davidson out 2-3 weeks ago...
  7. Six minute, well-intentioned but badly conceived/poorly-rationalized/non-apologetic explanation on Insta.
  8. Yeah, trust me...I followed him closely because he was my standout fantasy league performer all season long, right up there with Bellinger. This is solely about how BADLY he's looked in a 15-20 game sample size, so, yeah, you're right....not being fair. I just thought nobody's going to pick him because his numbers this year, but you can certainly make the same argument for Bellinger, for example. Harper, same reason, also on fantasy team and he was closer to a 2-3 than 10 war player as per usual, so there's a definite recency bias because this is all we've had to go on for the last 6 months and so it's fresh in our memories after missing baseball for so long. Valid points. Same with Rendon, although I like to see how his numbers hold up in the AL West first. If I went by PURE potential, you can squint and put Shohei Ohtani in the conversation still, but if the pitching's out of the equation, he becomes more pedestrial as a choice.
  9. They'll be down as long as their remaining back end pieces don't completely implode, the longer the better for Francona and Antonetti. Clevinger hadn't been feeling comfortable all season long. If his numbers mirrored last year, a much more difficult decision.
  10. On further thought, could probably be convinced that a healthy Corey Seager belongs, too. Interestingly, one name you never hear anymore is Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. Looks like Bichette could be the more valuable player.
  11. So...his last start was July 25th. More than 3 weeks between them, yikes.
  12. The injury risk with Tatis is arguably the highest because of the way he plays so recklessly, and the torque created by violent repetitive swings (see Woods, Eldrick Tiger.) Note I didn't include a single pitcher for that very reason. Too risky.
  13. Dr. Sealy? Mike Lindell from My Pillow?
  14. Nope, see above. I didn’t include Robert because it’s not yet justified, but an interesting argument. Betts would have been my second choice, probably. So there you go...
  15. I like Lindor’s leadership a lot. I probably would go Bellinger due to LH bat, power and positional flexibility to play CF, 1B, etc.
  16. Acuna and Soto don't have the premiere defensive value of playing SS, C, CF. And neither of them are amazing defenders in the first place, let's just call them competent to slightly above average.
  17. Who would you choose? Left off a couple of obvious names, like Christian Yelich...
  18. https://www.cleveland.com/tribe/2020/08/cleveland-indians-reinstate-mike-clevinger-and-zach-plesac-from-mlb-restricted-list-option-both-to-alternate-training-site.html “We spent time thinking about what gives our team the best chance to win tonight,” Antonetti said. “We made the determination that it made the most sense to, in order to be the best team we can be, we made the decisions we did to option them to the alternate site.” “They hurt us bad,” Plutko said after Cleveland’s 7-1 loss to the Cubs at Progressive Field. “They lied to us. They sat here in front of you guys and publicly said things that they didn’t follow through on.” Francona’s reaction upon seeing the video did not necessarily produce the results Plesac was likely hoping for. “I was disappointed,” Francona said. Antonetti said he also had a chance to view the video, and he’s not sure Plesac was able to convey what he intended after speaking to him individually. “I think if he had a do-over, he may have said things a bit differently,” Antonetti said.
  19. Giolito vs. Wainright, Opener vs. Flaherty Keuchel vs. Dakota Hudson/Ponce de Leon Just some guesswork...
  20. They have to be scared to death about Flaherty. He’s their franchise cornerstone. Carlos Martinez is already out.
