  1. Magnum PI Mendick (catch the "double" detective reference in the second part of last name, to match the moustache) Not to mention the other obvious connection, with MR. BASEBALL.
  2. Korea was right. I'll blame the Brewers' announcers for that one. That's the Avi Garcia we all know and love, haha. Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield.
  3. Josh Lindbloom starting against Gio Gonzalez THURS in Chicago. Two lefties. Put up amazing numbers, I think it was in Korea a couple of years ago before coming back stateside.
  4. Garcia put a good swing on that one. They're #1 starters for a reason...
  5. This sounds like a Promise Keepers testimonial/witnessing from Ben Zobrist...
  6. Have to replace Madrigal already in fantasy...had to dump Ian Happ because hate having Cubs on roster. Sigh. Btw, Padres' brought up #2 pitching prospect Luis Patino, they're not messing around, with Davies and Lucchesi struggling at the back end of their rotation.
  7. 5/15 hitters have put first pitch in play against Woodruff...definitely the plan to attack early in the counts.
  8. Great, now Encarnacion's clutching at his LEFT shoulder area. Bring up Vaughn, lol...
  9. Dozier, Gennett, Dietrich three possibilities. Second Basemen Scooter Gennett (30) Addison Russell (26) Devon Travis (29) Ben Zobrist (39) Shortstops Tim Beckham (30) drafted same year by TB as Gordon Beckham by CWS Addison Russell (26)
  10. HAIRLINE FRACTURE. Of the hand. That's a big difference compared to the wrist, especially from a hitting standpoint.
  11. The White Sox have been incredibly resilient so far in the face of all these injuries....gotta give them credit for not folding up their tents. There's just too much offensive talent on this team, and the addition of a World Series starter in Keuchel as well as Grandal/Encarnacion/Mazara has changed the make-up of this team from developing to "win now."
  12. Oregon State second baseman Nick Madrigal is expected to miss three-to-six weeks with a hairline fracture in his hand.... from back in 2018
  13. Wonder if they'll take a look at someone like Scooter Gennett or Derek Dietrich???
  14. Luis Robert went through a minor league season dealing with it...
  15. Can we bring back Herm Schneider from retirement. Broken left wrist two years ago, the year he was drafted.
  16. How many injuries can the White Sox suffer in the span of one month? That's not even considering Kopech opting out. Anderson, Jimenez ran into wall, Lambert, Rodon, Lopez, now Madrigal. Can't even remember which wrist he seriously hurt at Oregon State that caused him to miss 4-6 weeks his draft season.
  17. Robert's going to have to cut down on that swing and go to RCF. Luis averaging just 3.3 pitches per plate appearance. DAMMIT Madrigal. Really pushed his luck there, great throw by AVI, his best tool...outfield assists. Now Madrigal jammed his left wrist into the ground. Either the arm/wrist, something's painful.
  18. I think it's just that he's usually at 12 MPH difference, and the fastball has been 2-3 MPH down from where he normally is at. Top one so far at 94, but most at 92-93. Probably doesn't even realize he's doing it. Atta boy, Nicky Madrigal, aka Wonderboy.
  19. Jack Parkman is even more worried. He'll be fine. Seems like he does that quite a bit early in games until he gets totally comfortable out on the mound.
  20. Last start, 81/85 pitches fastballs or change-ups. Has really gotten away from the curve and slider. Once he managed to navigate that first inning without a crooked number, the Brewers were really in trouble.
  21. But the key question, did you have the opportunity to meet Pods' wife (or did they get divorced already)? Giolito seems to be hitting the "dead arm" start where he doesn't have his really crisp stuff but has to battle through it...
  22. That slider outpacing Rodon's fastball. Almost at the same velocity as Francisco Liriano threw it at in 2006. Maybe a tick below. Wonder if Balta's going to make a comment about Narvaez's pitch framing skills having improved? Well, Madrigal gets his opportunity to be the leadoff man next inning. Let's see if he can get things kick-started.
  23. Awesome play there by Moncada ranging to his left and making the accurate throw to second...ball gets to the SS, they're only going to get one. You could tell Yoan was ultra-focused on that one.
  24. Put the 4 spot up on the board? Giolito at 92-93 vs. 94-96/97 is a huge difference. Well, that'll work. But can't relax with Avi wanting to go all Count of Monte Christo on Rick Hahn/KW.
  25. Yelich top in majors against RHP'ers throwing changeups last season.
