  1. Great 2-0 pass and just missed it. Fouled straight back.
  2. He's a lifetime #4/5 guy. Our offense should be blistering him.
  3. Did he actually get clipped on the head by the ball as it flew by? It's like he momentarily forgot the situation...or was stunned. Kind of like Eloy's reaction when he was trapped in the Spiderweb netting. Seemed watching it the ball came back pretty well off the wall and should have been a legit play at first.
  4. There's ZERO excuse to lose a game to a starter with Boyd's numbers this year, without overwhelming stuff. Got the friendly veteran ball call on the inside.
  5. How many of the Tigers' current players would be starting for the White Sox? Other than 2B, RF...? 2/10?
  6. Item #71 of problems with the White Sox right now, but not near the Top 10.
  7. He used to be a top prospect at one point though, in the NL...maybe the Cardinals? Pirates? Giants? Would have to look it up.
  8. Guess it was '61. And For Love of the Game with Costner?
  9. Gut check time. Let's see what this team is actually made of.
  10. This game is far from over, of course. Hitters 1-2-3 as we turn over the line-up again. But now it's a real battle to take this one and get out of town with some momentum. Lose, and the focus is back on the 2-6 slide over the offday, and possibly not playing again until SAT night at 6 p.m.
  11. Part of the conversion to being a pitcher and not just a thrower. Have to learn how to pitch out of those situations instead of completely losing your composure. Playing Mazara instead of Engel also cost the White Sox. Have no doubt Engel takes the correct route and catches it in the gap.
  12. ENGEL WOULD HAVE HAD THAT. POINT 2, defense just gave up two runs again. Still not playing WELL as a team.
  13. 3-2 change-up. Ballsy. Definitely wasn't looking for that pitch selection.
  14. 3-2 change-up. Ballsy. Definitely wasn't looking for that pitch selection.
  15. Lost the DP possibility. Okay, now just get the strikeout and focus on the hitters.
  16. McCann got crossed up....what the heck happened there? Waiting for a breaking ball and got the high heat. Fooled the batter, too. Then he was flinching a bit from the swing and didn't get the ball to first quickly enough. Still waiting for a totally clean White Sox game defensively.
  17. Juan Gonzalez agrees with you. As a fan, it's not bad. Still prefer the overhangs/second decks in the old stadium, even though it was located in a not so good area of the city. That park had character, pretty sure they filmed most of the scenes from THE NATURAL there. The recently outdated Rangers' stadium was a bit reminscent with the outfield decking. The coolest was hitting balls onto the roof (Cecil Fielder) and the high pop-ups into the outfield that would get caught in the overhang in the first or second row when it should have been a routine fly ball. The only thing that's cool is the merry go round and then the city skyline backdrop over the outfield wall//Ford display models and that plastic Tigers' statue out there.
  18. Goins can't hit the ball ANY harder than that one...didn't even get to the fence/gap.
  19. That centerfield is so gigantic, it makes Old Comiskey seem pedestrian in comparison. Will never forget the old Tigers' Stadium with that flag pole in the field of play out there around 440ish where it kind of went into a triangle/cutout.
  20. Mazara inserted into the line-up to set up Mendick and Goins for RBI's, right?
  21. Nice patience from McCann. We have a lot more discipline out of that position than the Narvaez hacking years, although Omar was actually one of Hahn's Top 5 finds arguably. That would have been out or off the wall in quite a few MLB stadiums in CF. Robert's not that far off anymore. Can't give Charlie Blackmon credit for a .400 season if he doesn't even play in 81 games.
  22. Sad to see Cabrera looking like this. Kind of like King Felix. Along with Pujols, one of the two best hitters of his generation in the years after Ramirez/Ortiz dominated the AL. Harrelson just loved to talk about him as a hitter, and his approach to the game on that side of things. Just doesn't have the drive/power with his lower body anymore.
  23. Cease, you need to locate that fastball a little bit better....big league hitters can handle that pitch, especially if they're looking for it. Even 9th place hitters. Smart baserunning by Castro moving into second. Paying attention.
