  1. Cease, you need to locate that fastball a little bit better....big league hitters can handle that pitch, especially if they're looking for it. Even 9th place hitters. Smart baserunning by Castro moving into second. Paying attention.
  2. Encarnacion's closing in on going into one his patented 7-10 day tears where he puts up 3-5 homers and bunches of RBI's. Fly the Parrot! Free the Parrot? Does his real parrot need to be socially-distanced and not allowed in dugout?
  3. Jimenez. KNOW THE SITUATION AND WHAT YOUR OBJECTIVE IS UP THERE. GEEZ. Professional RBI at-bat there by Abreu, sensed the positioning of the infielders and knew he just needed to get it down on the right side of the infield. Instinctual.
  4. Why didn't the LF throw his hands up? Baseball IQ 101. Just like the time Jimenez was caught in the netting and seemed to treat it like it was a ground-rule double.
  5. Okay, let's get some runs back. Anderson, Jimenez and Abreu here. Boyd's pitch count is getting elevated after that 1st inning. Anderson has 6 leadoff homers in his Sox career now. Smart baserunning by Anderson, ball stuck in the fence, gets a triple out of it.
  6. 5/10 now for Harold Castro against Dylan Cease. See, Gardenhire can look at the past results and adjust the line-up accordingly. Jacoby Jones is a top MLB OPS guy, too. Madrigal's teammate at OSU, right? Greiner? More issues at the 2B bag getting tags down. Some of Mendick's flaws getting expose. Getting rid of the ball on double plays, for one, and also he's been pretty lousy with most tag plays, costing some what would have been pivotal outs (the one that sticks out the most was Lindor swimming past him and leading the Indians' comeback.)
  7. Cease really doing a good job there of getting off the mound and racing over to the 1B bag with a purpose... Looks like CJ Cron is going to miss the rest of the season, fwiw.
  8. 730 OPS and 31 heading into next season. Wouldn't dream of giving him more than 3 years. If someone wants to give 4-5, great, let them have him. We need to surround the young core with more professional hitters, he has so much swing and miss in his game, and his best years are going to be behind him, so, once again as Balta always points out, paying for past performance.
  9. Well, we know which two were the most improbable...Boze Berger is an awesome name for the 1930's, though. Probably a B-17 pilot.
  10. On the plus side, guys like Joc Pederson and Springer are scuffling this year...and they're not going to be able to get huge long-term deals heading into yet another year of Covid uncertainty as well as the labor negotiations. 1-2 year deals are fine for the White Sox right now with the veterans. Even the Grandal contract is scary, at least a bit.
  11. Fathom, your comment/s on Mazara's swing/s against BOYD?
  12. Now batting, the Mark Johnson/Royce Clayton section of the line-up. Wait. Nobody was that depressing to watch for a season. Mazara or Mendick could at least run into one.
  13. Abreu loves to play against the Tigers. Even on defense, apparently. Perhaps feeling the Vaughn footsteps closing in...
  14. I'd like to not see Chrissy Tiegen and/or 50+ former celebrities attempting to demonstrate they can still look "hot" in a bikini, without make-up even...on Yahoo News. Glad I missed all 23 Ryan Goins starts last season, ha.
  15. There's no such thing in life as a free lunch. Try ilemi, they might have a feed. Used to be .eu, they keep changing whenever it gets blocked.
  16. McCann caught Boyd 40 times in his Tigers' career. Think he knows what to look for? Well, at least Robert is back to at least putting the ball in play somewhere. Getting closer to going on another tear, hopefully.
  17. Not gonna say it...actually, it would be a tough call. High "lofting," just getting it over the fence with pure power, probably Jimenez. EE with homers in 5 of his last 6 games against DET. Slider on a 10 to 4 plane is working now.
  18. Guess I'm about 2-3 minutes behind. Just catching up with Anderson bomb to LF. Anderson homer on a hanging slider there.
  19. Last year Tim Anderson hit .350 against FB's, second in the AL to Luis Arraez of the Twins...guess McCann was really close to Al Kaline, who passed away this past offseason. Missed that one.
  20. "Craig Kimbrel, he's our closer." Great job, Topps National Baseball Card Day promo. Someone's trollin' the Cubbies.
  21. I know which one Pierce Brosnan would be drinking, lol...but shouldn't it be a martini, shaken not stirred? And who the heck is this Robert Mondavi dude who bottled/vinted Woodbridge Wines? Those commercials are EVERYWHERE you look/listen these days. It's like the Dos Equis "Most Interesting Guy in the World" dude with the beard. Somehow, that gig's earned him $10+ million, nice job if you can get it.
  22. Well, I have a can of Coca-Cola (no peanuts, forgot to buy)...one Corona in the refrigerator, and unfortunately, no IRISH nachos in the huge green helmet. Or Dippin' Dots, although we do have a small shop in the local mall that sells them here in Wuhan, believe it or not. We even have MLB shops in every mall, nobody actually follows baseball, but it's just for fashion, the NYY/LA hats and jackets that cost 50-75% more than they would in the US. Last time I checked, they even had the blue/red/white Sox batting practice mesh jerseys, but for $56 and they were "replica" and not the real I think Majestic ones.
  23. If they get the best of the Cubbies and the playoffs look more and more realistic, it's going to be 36 X 100, haha. My excuse at 1:00 a.m. in the morning is that it's the very last time I can watch a full game except on the weekends (Sat a.m. and Sunday a.m. usually.) Then, back to school full-time. Have to follow through the MLB.com site on phone, but SoxTalk isn't as much fun on cell phone because my phone typing sucks compared to having a laptop sitting in front of me and watching/listening with iPad. Abreu has reached base 19 consecutive games against the Tigers, fwiw.
