  1. Flyball pitchers don't mix well with this weather.
  2. If they can't get anything for him at the trade deadline...hard to call it a victory.
  3. Injured pitchers not all that helpful when they simply expose your lack of quality starting depth. No team in baseball these days can expect to use just one rotation for the entire season.
  4. You have to establish the FB first for the far better change up to actually be effective. Foul ball. Barely.
  5. So much for all the positive vibes lol. Just keep it to two runs.

  7. https://thedishwasher.blog/2025/05/03/is-mike-elias-the-worst-at-free-agency/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjsnN-kyaWNAxVYDEQIHXuTHoQQFnoECAIQAg&usg=AOvVaw0uw6cwla3LKx1Kj3rKloZ_ Thought this was interesting....very very deep into his article. White Sox 10th in FA spending ($320ish million) from 2020-2024 but only 21st in results (fWAR per $$$). Seems the pretty limited spending ($15ish million) and fWAR results for early in this 2025 season are pretty closely aligned...within three spots in the standings. Pretty sure this methodology doesn't count Amaya against the Sox either. Ofc, last year was obviously a pretty big debacle in this particular metric.
  8. Jon Adkins had just loads of potential despite his sky high ERA...lol.
  9. Shockingly, Roll Tide has already turned on his manager and GM over at Birds Hangout. No …we have tons of issues. I refuse to believe that a managerial change will fix this mess. And I don’t think Hyde is the main reason. I’m okay firing Hyde as long as Big Mike goes with him. "The biggest long-term concern to me is that too many young hitters have regressed, especially Kjerstad, Rutschman and Westburg. Even if Hyde keeps his job, they need to fire the hitting coaches. " So now they want Asche gone after Fuller last year. Hahaha. https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/sports/orioles-mlb/orioles-elias-offseason-mlb-al-east-25SSMYYP3VC4PDOFFHRU25OZKI/ Given Elias’ astute, deliberate construction of a farm system that was the top-ranked in baseball for years, he earned a bit of credibility even among the impatient folks. But, with the underwhelming performances of the starting rotation, the former top prospects and the entire lineup when a left-handed pitcher is on the mound, it’s clear the popular opinion of Baltimore’s tepid offseason was the right one. While acknowledging that the Orioles’ many injuries put this ugly performance in the realm of “extreme outcomes” as Elias put it, it would have also been extreme if this conservative approach put Baltimore back in the World Series. The ceiling for this roster (especially its pitching) always felt low, and clearly the floor has fallen, too. It’s good to see Elias, at least in a small way, owning that he’s made mistakes. But that’s only the first step.
  10. On pace for 2.4 bWAR though... Benintendi -0.1 bWAR / -0.7 fWAR for his entire Sox career.
  11. You've looked at the AL Central standings recently? Cincy has now lost 9/11. Let's wait until we beat some really good teams before announcing contention windows are opening. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds Six teams at less than 1% White Sox Rockies 0.0% still Marlins 0.1%
  12. The last contracts for Konerko and Abreu with the Astros were total disasters. At least Konerko was more of a "lifetime loyalty/2005 WS" award.
  13. You really want to bring him up and start him in RF tomorrow in Cincy? What's the rush? Even Frank Thomas and Robin Ventura had to prove themselves in Birmingham first, and Ventura was arguably the most decorated player in NCAA baseball history at the time.
  14. Rockies headed for 7-36 (pythagorean 9-34), 26-136 White Sox 13-30 for a YoY comparison Sox pythagorean number 48-114 vs. 41-121
  15. They did at least get the stadium into Runaway Bride if I remember correctly...
  16. What's the record for most saves by a Rule 5 reliever in his first year with new big league team?
  17. Well, at least it's not de la Cruz coming up with a chance to tie.
  18. So we can basically audition a different closer every night, lol. Well, somehow things worked out last night, so...
  19. Welp, more runs left on the basepaths in this one. Probably should have just let Taylor just swing away in case he accidentally ran into one.
  20. Guess Baldwin heard everyone talking about him, lol. A week or two ago, it was Sosa. Yet somehow, Palacios and Amaya keep hanging on to their roster spots...
  21. Yeah, or Alcantara...or Chris Bassitt, or whoever. There's always more pitching to acquire when you have a nearly unlimited budget.
  22. Experimenting on the fly, as usual. Surprised it didn't come back to bite them that much with Josh Rojas for most of the game in LF the other night.
