Who had Gavin Lux >>> Elly de la Cruz at the start of the year? McLain's (better/older) brother has been terribly disappointing as well...last year, injuries, this year, no bueno.
-
Same with Kwan with the White Sox...he would immediate turn into Charlie Tilson or something. (Definitely not Lance Johnson/1-Dog Reborn.)
-
Does anyone except their mothers really want to watch the Marlins these days???
-
No comparisons to left-handed Jon Rauch por favor...
-
Seems like we saw this same story with...I don't know, Chris Sale, Crochet, except those guys were "needed" immediately for playoff action. Even back in the day, drafting Royce Ring and Aaron Poreda and eventually Burdi. 2016 looks REALLY ugly right now. Formatting is a disaster but the names are all there...somehow THIS draft was going to provide one of the "core" pieces of the rebuild.

Eisert for some mysterious reason is starting...saw this same strategy with SAC/OAK. Guess they're going with the 'ol opener against the lefties strategy in an attempt to limit early offense. Gilbert might be up next tmrw or the next game.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central

Losing 1-0 so far...to Nats. -
Sounds like a classic Western gunslinger. Maybe the name change helps.
-
And Tauchman...and Drury if everything else fails. Although Mike usually hits first or second...or bottom of the lineup depending on pitcher.
-
Don't we have Meidroth Vargas and Robert for walks? Actually driving them in is the bigger point.

Would guess roughly 830-900 EST start based on all the local weather forecasts. https://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?127337-5-13-25-Reds-vs-White-Sox-6-40-PM/page2 Reds' fans saying one hour. Salty about Rose reinstatement and beating perennial doormat teams but not Cards Brewers or Cubs lol. Also mad at McLain and Ch.Encarnacion-Strand for sucking.
-
Seems like they're just experimenting with him now at this point. Scholtens and McKendry into CHLT starting mix along with Clevinger.
-
Chris Young maybe...still feels like Carlos Quentin was the last really youngish hitter power hitter to get really excited about in 2008. But not homegrown. Abreu was a fully formed Intl fa. Avi started out pretty exciting but also acquired externally like Eaton. Alex Call lol?
-
Montgomery up with bases loaded. Popped up an off speed ball on first pitch...got too overanxious/eager to ambush FB, fooled. 1/3 3-2 Knights...Nastrini third relief outing in a row. Kelenic jumps first pitch first a single. Julks has been player of game so far. Good defensive play as well in left. Kelenic picked off but Nastrini yanked easy throw that Colson couldn't handle at second.
-
Colson k's on a 90 mph FB. Starter Daniel a soft tosser has retired ten in a row now. Fletcher walks. Greg Jones on the injured list? Thought he was gone now too? Maybe not. Lipcius almost went yard but just came up short. Clevinger likely out after 4, longest outing of year so far. Stranded runner in scoring position three consecutive innings.
-
Caleb Freeman back to Charlotte. J.Scholtens now up to Charlotte on rehab with Eric Adler promoted to the Knights as well. Workman dfa'ed.
-
Fwiw Korey Lee seems to be waking up with all the competition around him now. Austin Slater back and already 0/2. Tauchman flies out. Colson back as well...as previously noted. Also, Brandon Drury on the DL apparently. Julks with the big RBI hit so far. Caleb Freeman back to Charlotte. Scholtens up to Charlotte on rehab with Eric Adler. Ex Sox James McCann sighting lol. Don't forget Omar Narvaez too...and Sandy Leon, lots of vets on both squads.
-
Okay you've convinced me to at least listen...their DH Game 1 the other day put me to sleep lol. Clevinger is pitching and driving everyone crazy with his fidgeting on the mound. Already 3-1. Braves' AAA Craig Kimbrel and Clevinger both famous for dangling their arms down and shaking them out lol. Weird they're both barely hanging on with their likely final professional teams. "Harold Hero" Travis Kelenic led off with a deep fly to warning track. David Fletcher meeting Dominic on the diamond together too. Make that 3-2. Can cheer against Clevinger but for Colson simultaneously. Kelenic 0/2. Bark at the Park/Dog Days every week when at home...I think on Wednesdays? That's different.

Ofc all the articles coming out now on Monfort in Colorado align almost perfectly with what was said about JR over the last year. Speaking of stubborn. Maybe Ishbia got the sense that the Pohlad family in MN was even more divided about what to do with the team going ahead than the Reinsdorfs. They seem to want a valuation ONLY $200-300 million less than the White Sox while simultaneously assuming $425-450 million in additional debt, which is crazy. Plus they have big contracts for Correa Buxton and Lopez on the books, too. Ishbias would much rather push that money (instead) into a new stadium/entertainment complex concept. -

Latest espn.com mock...Bulls just missing out on Jacucionis and D.Queen of MD... Scouting report: Egor Demin/BYU is a polarizing prospect, more theoretical in nature than some would hope in terms of the productivity, consistency and bankable skills he can hang his hat on early in his NBA career. He's also exceptionally talented, a 6-foot-9 point guard who can make every pick-and-roll read and pass, often in highlight-reel fashion. The evolution of his shooting will be a major swing skill for his development, but he made promising gains in a few different areas as the season moved on and clearly has significant upside to grow into at 19 years old. -- Givony -
This sounds what Guardians fans must now say to each other after Rebuild #4-5 going back to their great 1990s teams with all those consecutive sellouts at Jacobs/Progressive Field. At least they've had a lot more postseason success than the White Sox...albeit no WS title recently.

You're really going to blur the line between general front office spending, minors, scouting and travel budgets, Intl operations, interpreters/translators, Dominican/Venezuelan complexes, equipment/technology...which runs together with analytics, athletic training/nutrition and sports psychology and let's say running one more minor league team than other organizations in either short season or complex ball. Having a cap/ceiling and floors for all that...including bonus/signing pools? Seems it would be ripe for cheating or pushing boundaries of one line item into another. -
3/17 not exactly tearing up ACL ball. Feels like they are panicking just a little bit to bring him back to AAA when he seems so lost mentally...but they are even more afraid to shut him down completely and shatter whatever confidence is left remaining.
