  1. Not an everyday player, but fine in a platoon situation…
  2. JR already had his answer in Washington. The White Sox dont exist on the same sphere or plane as the Yankees...or anywhere close to being on the national radar as a serious legit franchise right now.
  3. Minny payroll $130-140 million....would have to double if not almost triple that (current $68 million) without Robert Vaughn Benintendi.
  4. Last year, it was something in the vicinity of $30 million basically lit on fire for veterans who didn't finish the season with the team, roughly 40% of them being released or injured.
  5. Dodgers 9-10 in last 17 but tied for first again Sasaki still without a victory 109 .248 8 21 1 .802 T.Edman
  6. Honestly think Baldwin might be able to handle it if he focused only on that CF position 100%...48th in mlb sprint speed, Robert is up to 35th .
  7. Eugenio Suarez has three homers tonight and counting for DBacks but hitting under .200 overall. Kelenic at .167 oops. Make that four. 19th time in mlb history.
  8. Pretty big indictment of the bullpen and late innings defense, RISP, overall fundamentals/execution but not getting blown out nearly as often. Today, Taylor was the big offensive star and that doesn't help the team all that much.
  9. Now without Arraez Merrill and Cronenworth...not to mention Darvish (aging/hurt) and Musgrove (tjs), Tatis and Manny can't carry the team by themselves...and FG all along has maintained SD was third or fourth team in the NL West. Just returning to the mean...especially with 25-30% of production on the shelf. Bogaerts hasn't been close to the 800/825 ops guy he was with Boston either.
  10. Yeah...especially since they will now have to get some type of return on Rojas' relatively high salary.
  11. I'm actually more upset how that 2010 season played out...looking back on it now. We took for granted being in division races pretty much every 2 out of 3 seasons or so.
  12. Vivisected? Human Centipeded? Maybe watching too many Black Mirror episodes recently...
  13. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/after-4-starts-what-can-we-make-of-dodgers-rookie-roki-sasaki-232141033.html Have noticed that Sasaki's been in the 94-96, touching 97 range in his last couple of starts. That's way way down from two seasons ago in Japan. Could be the infamous dead arm period.
  14. I've already been drawn and quartered...pilloried...tarred and feathered for not noticing the JR FCC Showdown by KyLe. At least there's something to keep the mods occupied besides the NFL Draft and NBA playoffs. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/runs-per-game White Sox now 28th in runs scored yay!!! We're barely ahead of the Rangers and Royals.
  15. Gavin Lux out OPSing Shohei Ohtani for now... 288 .795 Sheets dealing with first big slump
  16. Hopefully precautionary 2-3 days off and not IL-worthy.
  17. Now we really don't need Josh Rojas with Workman also on the roster. You've got Ramos, Baldwin (utility), Meidroth, Sosa, Vargas...very crowded infield (six, including Workman), but someone pretty much HAS to emerge and be at least above replacement level. Hopefully/theoretically. Baldwin, right now, looks really good...but he's not an everyday big league SS defensively, at least not yet.
  18. https://www.southsidesox.com/2025/4/14/24407840/lack-of-offensive-progress-a-growing-indictment-of-chicago-white-sox-gm-chris-getz-record Waiting another 2 to 2 1/2 seasons on Braden Montgomery unless they really rush him. And he's ideally suited for RF, not center.
  19. Lol. 2006-2012 were very solid/competitive seasons compared to what came after.
  20. 2 1/2 games ahead of the Rockies, even. At least the opener idea with Gilbert was a nice new twist...it really worked for both games. Not sure about a third.
  21. Because amazing leadoff hitter Palacios not in the lineup and Benintendi not 100% lol. Ozzie would probably put Baldwin there "because he's pretty fast."
  22. Starting Gilbert again today...not sure long they can go with that strategy without overexposing him. We can't quite quit Amaya lol. Benintendi Palacios Thaiss sitting not sure if Workman's going to be available. Taylor playing today when he had great split against Severino yesterday from his time with the Nats. 23. https://out.reddit.com/t3_1auvlyp?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fcclark_13%2Fstatus%2F1759654666499928519%3Ft%3D5VoOKYZDNVcBqwWyF3ZlAA%26s%3D19&token=AQAAyvEMaMnIWNCprHF2vfx9nITG69XySY5sxIfAiDak1eeHNkIx&app_name=reddit.com Obviously the Suns are more popular in Phoenix than the White Sox in Chicago, but Ishbia’s plan to provide free coverage led to a 95% increase in Suns’ viewership in 2023-24 versus the previous season. Whereas the White Sox are down somewhere between 63-80% going by the Bulls and Hawks’ released numbers….or maybe even WORSE than that, potentially.
  24. Then why is SoxMachine/Margalus running it like it’s headline news now? Tbh my iPad hasn’t been working well with the VPN, so it’s not like I can read every single story posted. And playing politics is slightly underselling things when it’s the head of the FCC and the Josh Nelson subscriber speculation about CHSN or ratings/share is something nobody’s been able to approximate just yet. If it’s anything close to the alarming rate of decrease experienced by the Bulls or Blackhawks, they will attempt to suppress it for as long as possible. It would help explain the #29 payroll and lack of FA spending, for one thing. It might be embarrassing to Boyer, but it would still be better to directly and honestly explain these issues instead of it seeming like there’s no strategic plan in place and they’re just flying by the seat of their pants.
