JR already had his answer in Washington. The White Sox dont exist on the same sphere or plane as the Yankees...or anywhere close to being on the national radar as a serious legit franchise right now.

Minny payroll $130-140 million....would have to double if not almost triple that (current $68 million) without Robert Vaughn Benintendi.

Last year, it was something in the vicinity of $30 million basically lit on fire for veterans who didn't finish the season with the team, roughly 40% of them being released or injured.

Eugenio Suarez has three homers tonight and counting for DBacks but hitting under .200 overall. Kelenic at .167 oops. Make that four. 19th time in mlb history.

Pretty big indictment of the bullpen and late innings defense, RISP, overall fundamentals/execution but not getting blown out nearly as often. Today, Taylor was the big offensive star and that doesn't help the team all that much.

Now without Arraez Merrill and Cronenworth...not to mention Darvish (aging/hurt) and Musgrove (tjs), Tatis and Manny can't carry the team by themselves...and FG all along has maintained SD was third or fourth team in the NL West. Just returning to the mean...especially with 25-30% of production on the shelf. Bogaerts hasn't been close to the 800/825 ops guy he was with Boston either.

Yeah...especially since they will now have to get some type of return on Rojas' relatively high salary.

I'm actually more upset how that 2010 season played out...looking back on it now. We took for granted being in division races pretty much every 2 out of 3 seasons or so.

Now we really don't need Josh Rojas with Workman also on the roster. You've got Ramos, Baldwin (utility), Meidroth, Sosa, Vargas...very crowded infield (six, including Workman), but someone pretty much HAS to emerge and be at least above replacement level. Hopefully/theoretically. Baldwin, right now, looks really good...but he's not an everyday big league SS defensively, at least not yet.
