  1. Sigh. Not getting strike calls. Rodon has plated all four of Noesi's inherited runners.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) League has adjusted to JA Pressing. And LaRoche isnt a consistent threat behind him.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) That is with De Aza gone And Viciedo.
  4. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 2, 2015 -> 01:25 PM) looking at all the stats, how is this team even close to 500? We have been extremely lucky. Two miraculous comebacks. Superior managing. Bullpen.
  5. Four steals.....seven caught stealings, great ratio there.
  6. Now Harrelson can blame the umpiring and not Ventura for the remainder of the game. Twins will outhomer the Sox this year despite disparity in home stadiums.
  7. http://earhustle411.com/tag/allen-bullock/ First charges as an adult.
  8. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 2, 2015 -> 06:23 AM) My thoughts exactly. When a hitter sees more than 5 pitches it is news worthy. The hitting philosophy is such that they swing at the first strike they see. This is where you get hawks new s***ty mantra how shifts are killing the sox. That is because the other teams scout players and game plan around them. The white sox swing at anything close regardless of the count. Other teams also are willing to bunt for base hits with their 2-5 hitters and/or go the other way. How many times do Sox hitters adjust for game situations with a modified approach?
  9. QUOTE (buckweaver @ May 2, 2015 -> 05:53 AM) The 1983 White Sox started 12-15 and won 99 games. Here's a link to a little more about that start. Take a look; it might help you sleep a little better tonight: http://www.southsidesox.com/2013/5/4/42989...ok-back-at-1983 Great, something that happens once every 50-100 years...and do you think Ventura will likewise make the Hall of Fame as the manager of that team eventually did. Theres the 2005 Astros (15-30) and a few other examples. Anything's possible, even now...but likely?
  10. Im pretty sure one is Hispanic from the names released...the one in the upper LH corner.
  11. They cant hire Konerko or Thome where things stand right now. That would be career suicide for Hahn. Hes supposed to be smarter than that.
  12. Im ready to start over.....GM gets only through 2016, whole new major league coaching staff including Cooper...no more Bell...Hawk/Stone break up, Boyer and Rongey gone. Hawk stays with Paciorek or also gone...otherwise, new/younger blood needed going forward. Farmer and DJ can stay, dont have strong feelings either way on that one. Oh, and Melton put out to pasture as well.
  13. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:33 PM) Highly recommend the documentary about Roger Ebert, "Life Itself." Came out last year, but I just saw it last weekend. It's a "warts and all" depiction of him. I was always a Sun-Times/Ebert guy. Pretty rough ending to his life. And I had no idea that Siskel was a stud. Yeah, its a good one. Fell just short in winning the major awards, though. Smile Pinki, about Operation Smile/free cleft palate surgeries is a good one....at vimeo for free, as well as Saving Face, which is horrific but impossible to take your eyes away from the screen.
  14. With Nelson Cruz and Kendrys Morales, we might be a .500 team but still without a catcher or third baseman...and also assuming doesnt replicate Robbie Grossman's 2014 season.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:49 PM) Flowers shouldn't have been allowed to bat in the 7th, but Ventura is too scared to use the back-up catcher. We wouldnt want to undermine Tyler's fragile confidence.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) He's the only player I can stand to watch right now. Thats probably the single most pathetic but absolutely true statement this year. And please just put Micah back in the 9th spot. Hes not ready for that increased pressure yet. The problem is we still dont have an ideal 2 hitter. Hell with it, try Beckham there until he goes hitless three or four games.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:09 PM) Considering how much the Sox were relying on increased attendance, let's hope there's not a lot of salary dumping needed after this season. Who could they dump? Danks maybe....trading Eaton or Quintana makes no sense. Stuck with Cabrera and LaRoche unless NL teams will take them back for 25-50 cents on the dollar. Robertson? Im sure the Bonifacio market will heat up in August, lol.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:02 PM) I'm sure any GM would rather have Chris Young than Samardzija. And they all laughed at Hahn behind his back when the trade was made Well, they probably won't give back their no-hitter against the Tigers tonight.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 1, 2015 -> 01:25 PM) I've asked, no response yet. They are now down two SPs, that's why Guerra started. But no roster moves yet, no word on Montas' whereabouts, or Recchia's injury. It's a little weird. Colleen Kane hasnt responded, either. Something's up that the team is asking the media to respect his privacy or its an internal disciplinary matter. Maybe related to his baby...?
  20. You know he would go 0/17 if the White Sox promoted him...which they cant because of Beckham and Bonifacio.
