  1. QUOTE (mike89128 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 08:19 PM) I think, and I could be wrong, this was the second time he didn't pickup McEwings stop sign in time during the game, the first time he was able to to get back because the ball went to the wrong base. Dunn deliberately ran through a stop sign from McEwing and scored, FWIW.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 07:58 PM) I think you are forgetting that you are bringing up these stat lines/observations for discussion. Other posters can certainly go on the box score and look at the stat line themselves. A great game, bad game, new trend, new observation, consistent trend, things beyond the box score, etc are usually discussion worthy. 0/1, 0/2, 1/3, 1/4 games aren't usually going to garner much discussion. Like I said, if you get pleasure from doing it, and want to continue to be your one man TMZ, and use the forum as a ranting and spamming ground, keep up the good work. Take it for what it's worth, this is the last time I am commenting on your posting type. SPAMMING? Yeah, sure....that's why I come to this website. WTF. Because I'm the ONLY ONE who has ever noticed that Hawkins is striking out a prolific pace, lol. So you're right. We should never mention his K's for the rest of the season, on a daily basis, we should only look at general trends and streaks and not game by game. Maybe you can get the moderators to agree to your idea. FLAVUM should be censured too, haha. He's not adding anything to the discussion, by your definition.
  3. After all the mistakes this season, they're going to select Viciedo to single out, and not Ramirez or DeAza? Keppinger hitting clean-up??? WHAT? If i was the Tigers, I'd be pissed.
  4. Wells attended Schenectady High School in Schenectady, New York and Towson University, where he played college baseball for the Towson Tigers baseball team in the Colonial Athletic Association.[2] He is the fourth member of his family to carry the name Casper. Wells has three sisters: Paige, Lauren, and Livija. Although he went to Towson primarily as a pitcher, Casper hit .357 during his freshman season in 2003. As a sophomore in 2004, he earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors after hitting .337 with 17 doubles, 7 triples, 8 home runs and 38 RBI. In 2005, Casper capped off an outstanding three-season career at Towson by hitting .362 with 15 doubles, 4 triples, 18 home runs and 66 RBI as a junior and being selected the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. Casper was subsequently drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 14th-round of the 2005 June Major League Baseball Draft
  5. Casper definitely looking better than Brian Anderson on the mound. Nasty forkball/sinker. Casper The Friendly Wells=Sergio Santos 2? Up to 92. Omogrosso and Troncoso look scared in the dugout. 85 MPH change-up the same as some of Danks' and Axelrod's heaters this season, lol. Wells ERA=0.00 Retired the hottest hitter in the Indians' line-up, Jason Kipnis (cue Phil Rogers article on another Chicago product NOT on the Sox or Cubs).

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 07:00 PM) Phegley home run to left field. Who cares? They won't promote him. Flowers is going to be the starting catcher for the remainder of the season, at least until September.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 06:56 PM) At the Charlotte game in person. Wilkins homer was a line drive to the right field corner. Sanchez has a double and a single. Erik Johnson has been excellent -- consistent 92-93 FB, hard breaking ball. Just three hits and only one walk in six complete. 86 pitches, 60 strikes. Pounding the zone. Velocity doesn't matter. It's movement. Pitch counts don't matter. BLAH BLAH. Just joking. Sort of. (This isn't aimed at you). Waiting to hear from our esteemed panel of experts what we should be looking for that we are already not well aware of, lol.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 06:51 PM) Because it adds no value if you analyze his batting average every game? It doesn't make a difference if he's hitting .188 or .191. He is far far away from producing at the major league level. Unless you get pleasure from watching a minor leaguer's BA jump 0.03 in one day. FINE, oh wise one, it also doesn't do any good to say his day to day results or if he walks or homers either....we should REALLY just ignore him for the rest of the season and then look at the final results at the end of the year, like you would with a mutual fund. I won't mention his FREAKING batting average for the rest of the season, because I'll be specifically waiting for your oh so insightful night-by-night analysis of what we actually SHOULD be looking for based on your extensive experience of assessing minor league prospects.
  9. 10 run rule in danger of being invoked again. 19-10. Remember when Ditka was coaching the Sox, and he faced off against a hurricane?
  10. QUOTE (TheBigHurtIsBack @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 06:44 PM) No. In fact, the "baseball euphoria" faded away quicker this year than any other season I can recall watching. Plus with the hubbub about the Blackhawks... no chance. I remember the White Sox still being at least legitimately competitive at this point in 2007.
  11. Seriously, giving the fans a discount for wearing their BlackHawks gear ($15) was a decent idea, but when you're playing the Indians, and their base color is also red, it gives the appearance there are more Indians than White Sox fans. Maybe there are...good thing they didn't count the attendance separately for a day/night DH, lol.
  12. Alexei Ramirez. Yet another error. Marty34's doomsday/nightmare scenario is coming true. Indians going for the 2 point conversion. 14th ERROR of the season, already has passed last year's total earlier in the week.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 06:35 PM) So despite hiring an offensive head coach and redoing their entire o-line, the Bears have only managed a TD and a FG against the vaunted Browns? At this point it's all on Cutler. Man he's fallen so far from Denver... Wrong thread, lol? Does ANYONE actually care any more about this Sox season, besides our midseason trades and watching the new players?
  14. Lindstrom being brought into this situation to boost his trade value for next month, lol. Poor Omogrosso and Troncoso. They better open up an Italian restaurant, as they're not long for Chicago.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Megatron out for blood. Have I entered a new trailer for Pacific Rim vs. The Decepticons?

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 06:13 PM) Why do you find a need overanalyze his batting average every day? What, if anything, do we really have to actually care about for the rest of the season? Hawkins' development is the single most important factor for the organization going forward, along with Sale staying healthy. Of course, it's going to be analyzed, reanalyzed and micro-analyzed.
  17. Dunn deliberately ran right through McEwing's stop sign at 3B, lol. Aviles with a horrible arm in the OF, no idea why he would try to hold him in that situation. Adam hit third before Aviles even had the ball.
  18. caulfield12 replied to Dunt's topic in FutureSox Board
Hawkins 0/2, 0 K's. .189. Did everyone vote for him to play in the Futures Game?
  19. Viciedo actually hit a 95 MPH fastball. Unfortunately, a liner right at Kipnis. Dunn pegged in the back by the throw trying to double him off.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 05:51 PM) Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 25m Brian Omogrosso is first White Sox reliever to give up 9+ earned runs in a game since Scott Eyre (9) 6/26/1999 Setting the stage for the 2000 season... 1999 leads to 2000, 2013 leads to 2014 and a Walt Disney movie (or at least Lifetime)? Sox "good" in 2006/08/10/12/14, lol. Pattern after the World Series?
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 05:50 PM) Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 2m If they Sox lose this game, they will have lost 2 of the 5 games this season in which they scored 9+ runs The Will To Not Win: Even when scoring 9+, there's still a 40% chance they lose.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 05:46 PM) RBI single for Phegley Flowers is no longer scared.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 05:46 PM) The White Sox are a random event generator. Butterfly Effect. A tsunami just originated in the Marianas Trench region after an underwater volcano erupted. Beckham at .330, Viciedo at .224. Didn't see that one coming.
  24. C'mon Troncoso, hold them down and secure a spot in the 2014 bullpen. "You can do it! You can do it!" Rob Schneider in The Waterboy.
  25. 6001st pitch of the game. Pace for 4 1/2 hours, if it doesn't go into extra innings. Concession stands staffers...not so happy.
