Direction?
And yet somehow the Giants can take guys like Melky Cabrera, Angel Pagan, Gregor Blanco and Andres Torres and get positive results out of all those guys...

4/15 Games
At least Trayce Thompson isn't leading the Southern League. That's progress. If all four of those outfielders fail...then, just wow. Buddy Bell, so long, goodbye. Paddy's not exactly causing one to jump up and down with excitement, either, although he deserves more patience than Bell. Of course, the defense of Bell is that you can't easily turn raw athletes into baseball players...that the fault lies in organizational/drafting philosophy and not player development. It has to be a little bit of both...and too soon for Hahn to fall on any sword.

Floyd EASILY could have given up 5-8 runs... He had runners at 2nd/3rd and one out, and got out of it...and then Santiago bailed him out of a bases loaded, one out situation.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) What In God's earth could that tool possibly be defending? Who is he blaming now? Probably Mark Buehrle for not taking a 2X hometown discount and remaining with the Sox, lol. Minnesota threatening to put us in last place...they have the Angels down 5-2 at home in the late innings.

I honestly would rather have Old Irascible/Horrible PR Cooper as manager...at least that way we'd only have to fix ONE area of our ballclub, the offense. Then again, you can easily imagine him getting too consumed with managing every aspect of the team and the pitching staff becoming an issue without him to guide it on an everyday basis. There HAS to be SOME connection between the 4-2 start at home and the 1-6 road trip without him. Maybe he's holding out for a raise and trying to prove his worth, lol...

QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 07:23 PM) lol why are they booing Wise? Because he wasn't a very productive player when he was with the Jays earlier in his career.

Auditioning Matt Lindstrom for a mid-season trade... Our new version of JJ Putz, haha.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:59 PM) Santiago...something has to change there. At least give him a start against the Twins or Indians. Expected walk-up crowds against the Twins and CLE? Is there a negative walk-up, where people boycott the ballpark and try to encourage fans NOT to buy tickets to support this putrid product?

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:52 PM) Flowers gets the 3-0 green light? LOL Especially when you consider that Greene's 2/2. Must be hoping and praying for a 3 run bomb on the part of the "coaching staff."

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) Dunn now 1 for last 25, but he of course will continue to play Flowers has to be on a pretty similar string to that...

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) Serious question: When Dunn is hitting under .100 in a few weeks, do we release him? Never in a million years.

6/37 now for Viciedo (.162) Lefty with stuff in the 70's and 80's, that was pretty predictable.

GT 4/15/13 Sox @ Jays 6:07 pm
Love the Gameday/MLB.com analysis. Buehrle has plenty left in the tank after 80 pitches with his fastball sitting at 84 mph over the last 10.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:42 PM) The Sox organization is right, there's clearly no room for Santiago in this rotation. Also, why even bother playing Dunn against LHP anymore? Because he was decent against them last year and is making $15 or $16 million, lol? Gavin better buy Hector a steak after he saved Floyd's ERA there...

An 8 year old was killed in that bombing? And they're pulling ball bearings out of people? Jesus...at least that puts the White Sox game in proper perspective.

Santiago might end up pitching more innings than most of our starters at this rate.

QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) Random Dumb observation: I wonder if any announcers have been told to refrain from calling any Home Run "Bombs" or "Blasts" for tonight...? Did that happen in OKC (with the AAA team's announcers) after the Federal Building was bombed by McVeigh? It will be a sad day in American history when common words and phrases can't be used because of their terroristic implications.

LOL at Buehrle aiming for the 2 hour game, but Gavin's gavin-ness causing it steer more in the 3 hour direction.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:30 PM) Beckham went through spring training with the Sox, he'd be making plenty of bonehead mistakes too. Well, Gordon never reached the mythic proportions of Crede....and the inevitable comparisons when poor Mark Teahen tried to play over there.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:27 PM) Up to 12 for 78 with RISP! Shouldn't the average be rising with Konerko and Viciedo getting 1st inning singles with RISP?

Should walk Konerko intentionally to face Dunn, lol.

Don't get picked off again or you'll be on a plane back to Charlotte before the end of the night. Then again, nobody seems accountable on this team for the lapses, so you'll probably start again tmrw because of the 2 hits.
