  1. Key play of this game was a botched ball by Omar Infante....the preceding inning, a ball was hit to Peralta and he didn't get the out on a throw Fielder couldn't handle at 1B. Both those innings led to 2 runs scoring. 72 games without an error, but Peralta really sucks and has the range of William Perry at short. "Is this a big win for you guys?" Great insight by the STO token hot chick with no clue about sports or interview ?'s.
  2. the giants win the pennant, the giants win the pennant. Why does it seem that late Sunday afternoons in September are always so interesting? Lonnie Chisenhall ropes a single into the gap and the Indians walk off at home again.
  3. It would be even be funnier if they suspended Cabrera for bumping the ump, but it would probably be appealed and he wouldn't miss the White Sox game tomorrow. One can hope, at least.
  4. RBI TRIPLE. Kelly almost made a miracle catch and dropped it when he crashed into the wall. 2nd triple of the year for Santana, back to back games. Runner on 3rd, 1 out...bring in the infield, will walk Brantley to put a runner at 1st, Ezekiel Carrera to hit. Walked. Bases loaded for Chisenhall. Break their hearts Injuns.
  5. No advance. Carlos Santana up now. Missed the breaking ball, popped it up and slammed down his bat.
  6. 2-3 inches from a tie game. 4 or 5 really really close calls at 1B and now down the line.
  7. Leadoff double by Kipnis on an 0-2 count. splitter. 3 chances to tie or win. Plus, Valverde pitched yesterday as well.
  8. He did push/shove the umpire. Wonder if he will get a suspension while he wasn't actually kicked out of the game he was playing in...?
  9. I think that Baddison Reed nickname has a real chance to stick if he were to somehow blow a save tomorrow against the Tigers in the dreaded "most important game of the season."
  10. Indians go to the top of the 4th trailing 3-0.
  11. Except for the Rays series to end the year and facing King Felix, the Orioles have mostly games against BOS and TOR. 12. Perdomo and now Swarzak might be seeing their last games in Twins' uniforms. Kyle Waldrop in to try to stem the bleeding.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) Eh...Dayan could have still benefitted from another year in Charlotte given that he had that bad wrist he dealt with all year last year...but bringing him up and letting him learn in the bigs was a reasonable thing to do if you're cutting $25 million+ off of payroll. You could argue we should have done the same thing with Beckham, were it not for the need to win now and having no other MLB-ready 2B. Two nice SAC flies by Wise today...c'mon YOUK, a double or homer here would be awesome. And let's cheer any team playing Baltimore to bring them back to the White Sox and Tigers in the standings.
  14. Let's end this game here, D-Wise. Erase the spectre of our bullpen and manager getting a chance to lose from ahead.
  15. Flowers with a GREAT eye late in the season, picking up his walk pace. Looking like the same 1 game lead going into tmrw. DET beating up the Indians again, 3-0 and threatening to do more damage.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) I never hated him. I just also liked CQ. And when Viciedo gets into his funks where he whiffs a ton, it drives me crazy. And he is young, etc. But CQ's salary didn't fit into our payroll. The end. Then again, you can make the argument we shouldn't have resigned Danks (your plan to keep Buehrle)...but still, it was Dayan's time to get an opportunity to play everyday.
  17. Indians have had runners on every inning but not coming up with the clutch hits they need. Florimon looking like Nishioka/Casilla playing SS.
  18. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) Apart from Baddison Reed, this has been such an easy series to watch. And Good, the Baddison and the Ugly Blown Save?
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 01:46 PM) I have enjoyed watching Rios this year. He has found it I think for sure Which probably means KW will deal him this offseason, haha.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 01:46 PM) OMG. Viciedo with a mammoth blast. He looks like Pujols. 2 pages ago, he had a horrible OBP, lol. Now he's compared to Albert. Are you a fan or not, Gregmeister?
  21. Blyleven says this year's White Sox team reminds him of the 1987 Twins. Quite the compliment, power and clutch defense combination. Hope he didn't just jinx them. Comparing Sale and Peavy to Frank Viola and himself , strong up the middle with Beckham/Ramirez, similar to Greg Gagne/Lombardozzi. THERE YOU GO DAYAN. Rocked that ball into the upper deck.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) I'd still let Peavy face Mauer. Even with 18 pitchers, tomorrow's the bigger game we need. Worst Mauer can do is tie it. I'm going to disagree and say he goes with Veal. We'll see. If it was just ONE lefty, maybe not. But too tempting to knock out both guys. HUGE homer by Dunn, number 39. Now that gives Peavy the dreaded 2 run cushion he keeps giving back in recent outings. 191 to 124 power gap between Sox and Twins.
  23. Now you're left with the equally interesting decision to pull Peavy and have Veal face Mauer and Morneau to lead off the bottom of the 6th. You almost have to do it if you're Ventura, POSSIBLY a one run lead, Mauer perforated some eardrums with his last drive off the base of the CF wall and homered oppo.
  24. C'mon, we need Septimo or Omogrosso for Mauer. Would be pretty hilarious if Veal gives up a homer to Joe if Ventura pulls him to prevent him from facing Mauer for a 3rd time.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) Well, there goes that lead. At least he's a fighter, right? Thought your feed was quicker... Great throw there by Wise, BTW. Revere with 2 out opportunity to tie it now.
