I just want to hear Rongey spinning any reason to go to a White Sox game for the rest of the season (well, at least until Viciedo comes back up) if we go 1-5 or 2-4 the next six games.

Mark Buehrle at $9 million? The Royals might offer him more than that. At least $11-12 million. Surely the Yankees would offer that amount over 2-3 years. Or the Red Sox. We'll see where his loyalties really lie, with the Sox/JR or the Cardinals back in Missouri on the farm with his family or elsewhere.

But not drawn and quartered....that's good. Maybe we can give him the Scarlett "A" for Alex on his White Sox jersey, since Konerko won't wear his "C" captain one. You know....I was thinking they should have Dunn, Rios and Beckham on the Dr. Phil Show with KW, Oney, Ozzie and Teahen. That would be the most anticipated and highly-rated Sox broadcast of the entire season. Right fielder Brent Lillibridge missed the cutoff man that enabled Brett Gardner to score the Yankees' first run in the first inning, and Robinson Cano's grounder caromed off the glove of Adam Dunn — filling in for Konerko at first base — to score Curtis Granderson with the second run. Does that make me anti-white or a member of the Michigan Malcolm X Militia or Green Tea Party? Willie McGee is still (far and away) the most popular Cardinal of the last 30 years and I consider that region of the country to be more racist than Chicago.

Crazy, Stupid Love is almost an excellent film. (Also the tagline for all White Sox fans this year following this team on a daily basis...) Not getting a lot of pub, but Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Julianne Moore are perfectly cast. At first it took me time to adjust to the idea of Julianne Moore in a mainstream romantic comedy like this, but she fit right in. Couldn't recommend it enough. Gosling is becoming one of the most versatile actors of his generation. He'd done dark, romantic fluff and this, which was a little bit of the Frank TJ Mackey Tom Cruise character from Magnolia but with a redeeming virtue. Carell wasn't quite as good as in Little Miss Sunshine, but he blows away his more "dark" performance in Life of Dan. Can't wait to see him in IDES OF MARCH with Clooney and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Also want to see the Ryan Reynolds/Jason Bateman movie where they "switch" lives....might be decent.

Except who was Quentin going to be sold to, exactly? Thornton's overpaid for a set-up guy unless you're the Yankees paying R. Soriano $10+ million per appearance. That leaves trading Danks/Floyd/Buehrle. And Trading Danks or Buehrle really would have set off a fan rebellion/boycott. If they want to sell any season tickets next year...the worst they can do is trade one out of Quentin/Floyd/Danks and/or simply not resigning Mark. Two or more of those guys are gone, it's clearly a rebuilding season whether they like it or not. That will be the perception. And we'll be 25th in MLB attendance or worse, since our tickets across the board are priced 3rd or 4th highest in the majors.

He sucks, but not as bad as Dunn... Morel is never going to stick while hitting the ball so anemically he makes Chris Snopek or Greg Norton look like Robin Ventura. And Gordon Beckham still can't drive a fastball to save his life.

Sabathia now 18-4 career against the White Sox. This team continues to shoot themselves in the foot fundamentally...and there's zero accountability being exemplified by the coaching staff. 1) Two very important runners in Beckham and AJ (who's our smartest player) picked off of second base in horrible baserunning blunders. 2) Lillibridge once again failing to execute in a sacrifice bunting situation. 3) Lillibridge missing the cutoff man on a throw from RF. Now Brent had a hustle single and did a good job late in the game holding them to the single on the ball down the RF line...but you absolutely have to get that bunt down. He jabbed at a ball that was quite high and a bit outside from way underneath it, of course the result's going to be a pop-up. Zero hitting with RISP, as usual. You just can't beat Sabathia unless you execute better than that. We had quite a few chances to break through, and just never came up with that big hit. Story of the season. And Dunn had a couple of balls in the early innings that could have been outs, and probably would have been with Konerko playing over there. I think both of those plays eventually led to a run. At the very worst, it would have been a 2-2 game without Dunn at first...and Konerko would have come up in at least one key situation with the opportunity late in the ballgame to drive a run in from the 3 hole. At least we were spared the automatic Rivera punchout of Dunn in the 9th inning. Beckham had two hits, but he looked completely overmatched against Rivera, and Dunn looked about as good as John "I Am Not A" Kruk against Randy Johnson in the All-Star game in his last at-bat against Sabathia in the 8th. And this isn't the Mo Rivera of 2006 or even 2001. He's a one pitch pitcher, much like Thornton. It's inconceivable that you can continue to trot out Dunn against LHP (against the best lefty in the majors) without at least shaking things up and a bit and trying someone like DeAza. For all intents and purposes, Dunn's season is beyond salvaging. It will go down in epic proportions as one of the worst ever. Jake Peavy, great job gutting it out. You should only have given up 2 runs in this game, but you had to deal with Dunn over at 1B. Chris Sale...you're the most valuable left-handed reliever in the game today. You just made the Yankees look like an American Legion team the last two innings. Thanks for coming back to life Alexei Ramirez. We need you. And Nick Swisher, if you pulled something like that (laughing in the dugout after the ball Ramirez dropped and he didn't run out), you'd be pulled from the game right on the spot and benched the following game. The Yankees aren't going to keep you around after the conclusion of this season. Good luck on the Padres/Royals/Orioles/Astros/Mariners.

Produced? You mean acquired from other organizations or signed like Alexei/Viciedo? Because you can't compare Mauer, Morneau, Michael Cuddyer, Torii Hunter, Jacque Jones (once a very good player), Garza, Denard Span, Baker, Blackburn, Slowey, Wilson Ramos, etc., with what the White Sox have produced from their farm system. Not to mention Santana, the AJ trade, the Eric Milton trade, the Knoblauch trade....all replenishing the farm system with the likes of Bartlett, Punto, Liriano, Nathan, Bonser, etc. From Ordonez/C-Lee/Durham/Buehrle....then Crede/Rowand, it's a barren barren wasteland of destitution and deprivation. Impact talent? Under KW? Beckham? Ramirez? Sale? Santos? Because you can't really count Quentin/Danks/Floyd/Jenks in terms of "producing" them exactly. Not even Santos. And we didn't really develop either Gordon or Chris. They were both with the major league team within a season of being drafted.

What was our team ERA during that time? 2.50-2.75? We had to outscore our opponents this month, didn't we? Except for Peavy and Humber, the bullpen and starters have been pretty darned dominant.

Greg and I just like to repeat that about 300 times per month...only to serve as a diversion from the constant Rios/Dunn/Walker bashing. Except he also likes Ozzie and Pierre. There we go our separate paths.

Which we were reminded of again yesterday....by Mr. Miller's ridiculous ecscape-ability to somehow survive against our offense the first 4-5 innings yesterday. As far as Teahen goes, you can't ever find a single positive comment from me on that one. Greg and I from day one...we both watched him day-in and day-out living in the KC market.
