  1. Now you have to walk AJ. Amazing game, so many twists and turns. Reminds me of the game against the Angels where I think it was Jepsen who wild pitched the run in.
  2. C'mon, Rios. No PR'ers for Dunn at 2B. Use Edwin Jackson to PR. C'mon AJ. Just a nice and easy swing with elevation.
  3. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:28 PM) ok win in their last at bat. It is still a nice little week they are having It would be 10 out of 12, something like 4 or 5 in a row...8-4 in extras.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) GMAFB - he's the best pitcher in the pen. And you blame ozzie for this? This isn't about the homer. That's one issue, getting beat because you don't have confidence in your FB. The issue is that normally, at least in 3 outings, Sergio walks or hits hitters in these situation and gives up a crooked number. If I'm not mistaken, this is the only time he's not been blown out of the game and given up an additional 2-3 runs after he's surrendered the lead or tie.
  5. Ozzie ALWAYS leaves Santos in too long. When will he learn??
  6. Why, why, why? Sergio not confident at all in his fastball tonight. Hanging change-up .... up in the zone. You have to get beat with your FB or slider, not your 3rd pitch. Ozzie, you better be ready to pull him after one more batter.
  7. Looks like Santos will be entering the game now. Not sure why Crain isn't available. Well, let's just cross our fingers Sergio has his control and his offspeed stuff like the Cubs' series.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:08 PM) Can some describe how Pierre just missed a walkoff? I think he tomahawk chopped it down the RF line...had the distance, but foul.
  9. C'mon Morel, get a double here and let Alexei drive you in.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Now that extra gift run is bigger. Otherwise the tying run would be at the plate. Hmmm, Teahen pinch hitting for Beckham. Maybe one hit with RISP tonight would be nice. They better PH for Pierre, too. OMG OMG OMG Ozzie did something right, FINALLY Teahen is alive. I'll pick on you more often. Too bad it wasn't the game winner, but we'll take it. Just win this damn game now, don't let it get away. The irony is now we DO need to use our best relievers in a tie game.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Sox desperately need to find another reliable righty reliever. Having two on the roster is a recipe for burning them out. I think you just traded Viciedo away. If Pena would have been the pitcher KW thought he was, we wouldn't have been in this situation.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 06:59 PM) I think a number of people predicted it would take less than 90 wins to win the central. As long as Ozzie keeps managing non-chalantly in close games like tonight, we'll be lucky to get back to .500. And I still don't see the division winner finishing with less than 88. As bad as the Twins and White Sox played the final months in 2008, that was the mark. With how much the division rivals will play each other in the 2nd half, one team will inevitably get hot and take off.
  13. Pretty sure Quentin was available to PH there, but it would be hard to take out Dunn after he almost hit a homer in his last at-bat. At least he's SORT of looking a bit more dangerous now. UGHHHH.
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) This is errily similar to Hudson and Arizona beating us Bad things happen on Fridays. Hudson, this game, and then there were three blown games to OAK, TB and the Dodgers. What a nightmare.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) Wow, just saw that we let Bruney pitch to Morse with an open base. I can't believe we didn't walk him to face Espinose, who really struggles against LHP. Why is Bruney valued so much by this organization? It's funny, but the man of the day, J4L, screamed last week that Ozzie better not let Morse beat us. Knowing Ozzie, he's probably remembering the Morse in our system who was more of a doubles hitter and hadn't found his power stroke yet.
  16. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) Why is Bruney even on the team... To replace Pena, I think... Our first break of the entire game goes our way since Werth's error in the first inning...and I guess trying to score the run from 3rd and getting gunned down.
  17. How many times this season when we blow 2-3-4 scoring opportunities early have we rallied to win late? The only difference was the insult added to injury with the homer being robbed against Dunn and the former Sox farmhand jacking one out against our equivalent of Tony Pena who had no business pitching in that situation....and no business pitching to that particular batter, either.
  18. I just don't get it, with the off-day, why they'd be using Bruney. Or why they even bothered to pitch to Morse, who's obviously been white hot the last month.
  19. Of course, fate and destiny conspire against the Sox again. Where the heck was Crain? Bruney, seriously?
  20. SIGH. Thankfully Konerko saved a run, at least so far. Still one more out. If Morse gets a hit, poor KW might start going crazy with how ex-Sox players have been in our path the last week.
  21. Of course, it's Bernadina again. At some point, they have to score if we keep giving them 2nd base and 3 chances.
  22. Ugh...I'd almost rather be getting no-hit here, this game is so annoying. First team to get a base hit with runners on wins. Of course. At least he hit it hard and threatened to drive in a run. Sale now or Thornton? Crain?
  23. Even former Sox farmhands still have trouble bunting. Chris Young had 2nd and 3rd, 1 out and he bunted into a double play. DBacks up by one going into the bottom of the 9th.
