  1. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 7, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) Hudson pitches tonight (Sat). Gio won last night. Looks like Sweeney getting back in A's lineup. Hard to do with Willingham, Crisp ensconced in CF and DeJesus. That's why he still has less than 40 AB's this season.
  2. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,2491155.column Kind of a contradictory article by Rogers about the future of the White Sox, and the manager's position. And I don't seem to recall a huge collection of talented players coming into the system with Schueler. He can take credit for Magglio, Lee, Durham, Buehrle, Rowand and Crede, but all those players were veterans when Ozzie took over. It almost sounds like he's defending Jerry Manuel, not Ozzie. Strange. Seems he's against firing Guillen and leaving KW in charge, then lists about 15-20 possible managerial candidates, headlined by Dave Martinez and Sandy Alomar, Jr. The name that hasn't been mentioned much is Joe McEwing. Personally, I can't imagine a single White Sox fan being "amped" or excited about Cora. Some of the other names mentioned were DeMarlo Hale with the Red Sox, Ron Wotus with the Giants, Scott Ullger with the Twins and a long list of recycled guys like Jim Fregosi.
  3. And that will drive your manager and pitching coach crazy, Gavin. Between Jackson and Floyd, two of the most enigmatic talents in the game in one rotation. That pitch to Kennedy was the definition of center-cut.
  4. Well, there are your runs, Gavin. No excuse for the starting pitcher or bullpen not to hold this lead. The real question is it an Ozzie-proof lead with the way he's been managing this year?
  5. I think this is the last time all season the bottom of the line-up will simultaneously be a combined 9 for 9. 14 hits in 5 2/3.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 7, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) Someone want to tell me again how AJ has no power left? If he had power, it would have gone out, lol.
  7. Bradley earning his money out in LF.
  8. Beckham looked like a high school QB there with that throw. At least it was accurate. Rookie Alex White on the mound for the Indians, one of their top prospects.
  9. That's all we need, a hand injury to Konerko. LOL@Jean Pierre. His head is so small, they don't make a batting helmet that fits him so he has to wear his cap inside to make it fit correctly.
  10. Okay, that will work Adam. At least he hit a ball close to right on the button, knuckleball affect to Saunders.
  11. Forgot about that possibility. DON'T BUNT ALEXEI.
  12. I'm thinking missed squeezed play and DP or triple play.
  13. Maybe all of our hitters should just deliberately miss on bunt attempts and just swing away with 2 strikes.
  14. Rios now 6/7 against Fister. At least he can hit someone. Dropping those balls into LCF with parachutes right off the label.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) Very nice 3-2 change-up to Smoak. The previous change he hung and really got away with one the way Smoak's been going recently.
  16. Based on Beckham turning on a fastball and pulling it down the left-field line against Felix in the 8th and his first AB in this game, two consecutive hits FEELS like progress. What else do we have?
  17. I think if you had to watch the White Sox and Mariners play more than 2 series in one season any baseball fan would go crazy. Ugly! Well, maybe Beckham's starting to turn for the better. MAYBE. Smoak 'Em If You Got Him, Gavin.
  18. 1/2 with the predictability score on Corpseball.
  19. Bradley getting booed, lol. Dunn's big swing off the end of the bat really fooled him. Maybe Adam will get back to .200 before June 1st. Now, how do we NOT score this time? Predictions? DP ball by Quentin and 4-3 groundout by AJ? Ooops, forgot the K possibility. Now's time for the tailor-made DP, AJ.
  20. No, it just shows how athletic Dyson is, Greg. He scored on a pop fly to the shortstop into very short LF earlier in the week. If we pinch ran Usain Bolt for Beckham, we would have a 2-0 lead, too.
  21. And that's why Figgins didn't need to bunt last night, lol@AJ. I know, Floyd's horrible at holding runners, too. Worst possible combination for the Sox.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 7, 2011 -> 07:58 PM) Somebody tell me how what just happened is FN possible...............unreal. Well, Pierre can't drive the ball into the OF and Morel made a typical rookie baserunning mistake on a softly hit ball? Can we just close this thread now before a total meltdown occurs? I guess there's no longer enough fans who care to spend their Saturday on White Sox baseball to even get upset. Now even Konerko's getting into the act with the error. This is almost incredible.
  23. OF COURSE. WHITE SOX BASEBALL. Finding new ways not to score runners from 3rd with less than 2 outs.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 7, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) Estaban Loaiza had the most consistent season ever? Can Hawk ever make a statement where he doesn't engage in ridiculous hyperbole. Just like the White Sox teams. Consistent until late in the season or they're facing the Twins. Then they consistently lose.
  25. Getting a fortunate break there. Can we actually score the runner from 3rd? Beckham actually kicked his glove with the tip of his shoe as he was jumping over him.
