Jesus, Rios. You're super lucky not to be in Chicago or they'd be booing you more than you've ever heard at USCF.

Sin City, you're scaring me. What happens in Vegas should stay there. Or Thailand. Nice to see Quentin getting some solid singles/groundballs and not just K's and popouts.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) LOL, you want your wife to be a slut??? You don't want Kris Benson's wife, that's for sure. She would be the perfect villain on all those Real Housewives shows. BTW, J-Lo's now back on the market.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) If I was a MLB star making millions, you bet I'd have a trophy wife as well.....and she'd be a slutty trophy wife....not one that doesn't give it up. I think I'd go for Emily Maynard from the Bachelor 15. She's actually the first girl I've ever seen on that show who really seemed close to 100% genuine. She reminds me a lot of Phil Mickelson's wife, but even cuter.

Floyd actually manned up in a "big game" tonight. That's a sign of progress. From the initial looks of it, things looked more bleak than they did for the Twins starting Swarzak vs. Humber. That's the beauty of baseball. Cashman must be getting impatient. Another big lead for TOR, 6-1. Who started for them?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) Are those cities? Augusta is. If you include Hilton Head, Charleston and Savannah, that's really a golfing mecca. St. Petersburg, maybe. CLE set up for a really big inning now. 6-5, runners on 1st and 3rd, no outs. Chisenhall with go-ahead single. They just don't quit. OFC, Balt isn't the best team in the world. 1500 hits for Cabrera in his career.

Bizarro World. Seems like every single White Sox hit has been on offspeed pitches. 7, in all. Lots of Sox hitters working the pitch count, especially Konerko. White Sox actually changing their gameplan against Verlander? Scouting? What's going on here?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Hawk just called Chicago the greatest golfing city in the world. Holy s*** this guy is off his meds sometimes. St. Andrew's, Augusta and Pebble Beach say hi.

Adam Jones homer ties it at 5-5. He's finally starting to fulfill his promise. That Bedard trade really haunts the M's.

At least Dunn was on that pitch against Verlander. That's a good sign. He just got under it, but it was a good pass compared to what he's been doing for a month. Rios is going to become more unpopular than Pierre in time because there's just no light at the end of the tunnel.

Sizemore homer scores Hafner, 5-3 Indians in the bottom of the 5th at BALT. The ball is carrying really well tonight...some balls getting to the track that are unexpected.

Rios actually battled a bit there, but you HAVE to come up with 2 runs in that situation. Hopefully that won't come back to haunt us. Verlander's already in the mid 90's for pitch count.

Good play there by Raburn. Saved at least one run.

Seems like this is the situation of the game. We score 2 runs or more and we win. Don't score, and the Tigers take all the momentum.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) Was the guy at 1b a threat to run? That slide step is where G gets hurt Ordonez wasn't going anywhere. Tigers have a big decision to make on Raburn. Wait until he gets hot (putting up with the below-average defense) or go to Carlos Guillen as the starter when he returns. Raburn's a .290 hitter after the ASB, but he's on the verge of losing his job. Now his error opened up the possibility of a big inning. All the White Sox hits have been on curves or change-ups tonight. Interesting, for a "fastball first" team.

Teahen redefining the term "hot corner." Would feel a lot better with a 3 run lead. Thankfully, Verlander's pitch count is up there...we have to get him out of there in the 6th or 7th and get to their pen and score again.

D-Lee now 9/65 with RISP. Good thing we have Konerko. Of course, two run homer after the passed ball/wild pitch. Should only be 4-1.

Asdrubal Cabrera almost catching up with Quentin in homers, hit his 16th. Tied 3-3 against the Orioles.

Dunn stepping up in 2nd Half. Rios, not so much. Wow, a pretty decent play by Teahen. He's actually not so bad on that type of ball where he's fielding the ball on the run. It's when he's stationary that he gets in the most trouble.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) Very nice swing by Carlos! Come on Rios, remember that you used to be a doubles machine. Yeah, May 2010.

Are we the Twins now? 4 hits, all singles? Only the 2nd time this season he's given up 4 or more runs. NOW GAVIN, please don't choke away the lead. You can't have Verlander down 4-0 and let them get away.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) That probably means it was a safety squeeze, not a suicide Not a bad call against Cabrera coming off the oblique strain, but the majority of MLB 1B make that play at home with the bare hand toss and this inning suddenly looks much uglier. Did Dunn actually get a hit? What the heck? A single? Through the shift? Back to back change-ups. Verlander outthinking himself there. Would have been better off with FB or curve, as you don't want to speed up his bat.

Wow...it worked, but there should have been a play at the plate had Cabrera fielded it cleanly. Beckham got a really bad break off third. Seems like Pierre did that completely on his own. It wasn't called, judging by Gordon's reaction. Konerko 5/42, 1 HR against Verlander.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) we could of had martinez for 4/50 and we have done instead I'm convinced Venezuelan players don't want to play for Ozzie after the situation with Magglio. Omar Vizquel came, yay! Beckham continues to keep up his hot hitting....maybe not all line drives, but they all look the same in the box score.
