Surprised the Twins didn't go to Perkins against Hosmer.

Thome with a single, Valencia almost went yard and then the no-doubles defense leads to a single by Delmon Young with Tolbert to 3rd. Soria has really been shaky this season. Apparently, the Mo Rivera cutter he was trying to add to his repertoire didn't take. And Twins' fans hate Capps. Tolbert thrown out at home on a ball hit back to the pitcher. 2 outs now.

Twins' only run against KC scored in a wild pitch. Only one hit so far. But still leading 1-0. Indians win. JJ Hardy grounded out for the final out of the game with the tying run at 2B.

At least Greg can get annoyed that Nick Blackburn's throwing a shutout against the Royals. If they win, they'll be on a long stretch of playing 15 games over .500 ball. 71-33 in 2006. 17-4 to finish 2009.

In White Sox news, Alex Rios wasn't nominated for eviction from the all-important 6th spot in the line-up.

Maybe everything that Ozzie goes will turn out to be genius in the 2nd half. Except for batting Rios 6th. Teahen's even helped out defensively. Not feeling too optimistic that Reimold, Pie and Andino will lead a BALT comeback in the bottom of the 9th off Chris Perez.

This doesn't bode well. Bruney getting pulled. Looks like Ozzie has to go with the lefty. Ohman? Hmmm....I know it's 8-2, but I'd prefer Thornton or Sale with the All-Star break giving all those guys a ton of rest.

Didn't realize Bruney was averaging 7 walks per 9 IP (through) 2009 in the majors.

That doll looks either like Brian Anderson or William Katt, The Greatest American Hero. Definitely not Dunn.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) Beltran They're already stuck with Bay. They have Davis at 1B. Who's their other OF? Murphy? Trying to figure out where/how Viciedo would fit in there. Or not.

Dunn has to be growing in confidence, particularly after getting a hit off Verlander. Against LHP, who knows. But he's making solid contact tonight.

What centerfielders are on the trade market besides Rasmus? If they have to trade Viciedo because of Rios....

DET a perfect 40-0 when leading after 7. We've lost 6 games in that same situation. Turn that around and we're in first place.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) So Hawks fans, any juicy rumors on how Kane broke his wrist? Slamming his hand down on the coffee table after another Alex Rios AB with RISP.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) So who had 8 runs in the pool when they saw verlander pitching? Who would have thought that Mark Teahen would be the defensive star of the game?

Jesus, Rios. You're super lucky not to be in Chicago or they'd be booing you more than you've ever heard at USCF.

Sin City, you're scaring me. What happens in Vegas should stay there. Or Thailand. Nice to see Quentin getting some solid singles/groundballs and not just K's and popouts.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) LOL, you want your wife to be a slut??? You don't want Kris Benson's wife, that's for sure. She would be the perfect villain on all those Real Housewives shows. BTW, J-Lo's now back on the market.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) If I was a MLB star making millions, you bet I'd have a trophy wife as well.....and she'd be a slutty trophy wife....not one that doesn't give it up. I think I'd go for Emily Maynard from the Bachelor 15. She's actually the first girl I've ever seen on that show who really seemed close to 100% genuine. She reminds me a lot of Phil Mickelson's wife, but even cuter.

Floyd actually manned up in a "big game" tonight. That's a sign of progress. From the initial looks of it, things looked more bleak than they did for the Twins starting Swarzak vs. Humber. That's the beauty of baseball. Cashman must be getting impatient. Another big lead for TOR, 6-1. Who started for them?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) Are those cities? Augusta is. If you include Hilton Head, Charleston and Savannah, that's really a golfing mecca. St. Petersburg, maybe. CLE set up for a really big inning now. 6-5, runners on 1st and 3rd, no outs. Chisenhall with go-ahead single. They just don't quit. OFC, Balt isn't the best team in the world. 1500 hits for Cabrera in his career.
