Welcome to the 2010 season Alexei! Although that defensive error would have been unforgivable in a close game. -

Can we trade Putz to the Twins and get back Revere or Hicks? LOL. -

Why didn't we PH Andruw Jones for Vizquel there? Oh, I forgot, we'd lose the favorable LHB/RHP match-up and actually have to play Nix. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) I think we miss King Felix at least. He pitched last night, right? Thank god for small favors. Maybe we can get BA back and activate him for that game in Pierre's place. Nice to miss Lee and Felix. -

I don't think comparing our team to last year's Yankees or the 2006 Cardinals is going to hold much water with fans this season. TB about to sweep through Boston on the road...great!!!...two hottest teams in the AL on their way to USCF. -

Jesus...we really can't catch a break. Two balls that were scorched with nothing to show for it. -

What are the odds the Royals can hold onto the same 7-3 lead over the Twins in the 4th? 60/40 in their favor? Balta, I think we'll have a lot better idea about contending after we see which team shows up agains the Rays and Mariners at home. Wow...bad luck and great play by Peralta, unusual for him. -

Haeger's on the Dodgers now, as well.... Choo had reached base in 17/24 PA before that "hard" out on a nice play by Becks. 10 hits and 7 walks. Wow. -
Royals explode for 6 runs against the Twins, threaten to win one game. The big question now is whether the middle relief can get the game to Soria or not.

Well, it was due to happen....first base hit allowed. What was Redmond thinking? Out by the same distance as Hardy... By the way, the Indians' announcers were recalling how Santos was legendary for his BP tape measure home runs and hit 20 in one season...interesting, he's a big dude, so not surprising. How much did we pay for him last APRIL when we made that deal with SF? -

I think we need to let Santos pitch and DH for Kotsay like in Little League...is that allowed? -

Santos time. Great job T-Pain. Wonder if Santos can keep the momentum going on his early season success? Still hasn't given up a hit yet on the year. 10 strikeouts. -

UMMM. Glad Kotsay's OPS (sub 440 now) is about the same as Mauer or Morneau's OBP. You know, it might help to have Andruw Jones or Quentin there with an actual chance to do some damage and get it back to a 1 run game. Oooops, I forgot Kotsay has one homer. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:36 PM) If Ozzie quit or was fired, and I think there is less than a 1% chance of either, I would say there's a 99.9% chance that his replacement would be Cora. Disagree, I don't think Cora or Walker would take the job in that situation. It would be seen as too disloyal to Guillen. Unless Ozzie told them to go for it and gave his blessing, who knows with him these days.... Jerry Manuel and Ozzie are the 2 managers most under fire in the early weeks. Ironic. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) You're joking, right? I'd prefer to keep KW. If we don't. Interview Paul Depodesta, David Forst, Rick Hahn, Kim Nga, and Logan White. For manager i'd like a guy like Davey Johnson. Kim Nga would be perfect. She started with the White Sox earlier in her administrative career. But it's a dream world to think she'll get the job...maybe we're another 5-10 years b4 that happens, the first female GM. I would say Bobby Valentine, but I really don't like him that much. I always liked Torborg, though... MINNESOTA up 2-0 on the Twins and threatening for more. Hello 6 games back. It's just too bad there's no possible way for us to have an announced attendance under 10,000 with our season ticket base, but the actual will be in that area for the Mariners. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) Tony Pena is too good to be wasted as a long man, wsox need to drop Randy already and call up Torres. Deck chairs and lifeboats, meet the Titanic. The irony is that we had a perfectly serviceable long innings guy in Carrasco, and spent that money on Vizquel/Kotsay/Pierre/Teahen instead. Well, that's about ITEM 13 or 14 on the offseason complaint list I guess. But it created yet another problem in our bullpen, the lack of a long guy/innings eater. -

Would we really offer the GM job to Stone? Something needs to be done, but I would prefer to keep Williams over Guillen. Seriously, I would rather see DJ, Ventura, McDowell, Fisk or even Lance Johnson managing this team over Guillen at this point. I'd actually rather have Walker as the manager, too. Or Cooper. Just not Cora. -

Yeah, I think the Iguchi homer off Wells was the key. You can argue that, or the Josh Paul/Pierzysnki/Escobar incident...followed by Crede winning that game with the smash to left. Everything went right that offseason, except for Contreras, the best pitcher in baseball at the time, losing to Paul Byrd. -

Ozzie, have you LOST YOUR MIND? We can't burn through our entire bullpen today. Williams and Linebrink are not 2-3 inning pitchers. -

Choo with more RBI's in the first three innings than the White Sox in the entire series seemingly. We're now officially at the point where it's worse than 2007 with Fields/Owens/Wasserman/Gonzalez. -

Indians' announcers making fun of all Ozzie's quotes this week. Farmer wants to manage today, said he'd do a better job managing than Ozzie would broadcasting. I think it's time for Steve Stone and Farmer or DJ as GM and Manager!!!! -

Ozzie, please have a complete meltdown just to make this team interesting again. Or KW next week at home. The Indians' announcers are basically saying the White Sox look like a team that's just playing as fast as possible to get out of town on getaway day. -

LOL at Teahen going. Maybe Vizquel missed the hit-and-run??? This just is becoming almost comical. You can't even get mad anymore. At least they gave Omar some cheers, unlike Thome. I guess if you're traded, it's okay...but leaving via FA makes you a villain and traitor. -

The scary thing is that there might be more closet Rays fans at the games next week than White Sox fans. We'll be lucky if we can salvage another one with some AJ theatrics with the umpires again.
