  2. Simply need to trade Thaiss and let either Teel or Quero play the rest of the time...

  5. Seems the 2024 White Sox are going to be in the news (again) due to the woeful 2025 Rockies https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45274389/rockies-fall-8-42-being-swept-four-games-phillies Rockies' Road? After getting off to baseball's worst 50-game start since 1895, the Rockies are in danger of joining some ignominious company by season's end. The White Sox finished the 2024 season with a 39-121 mark (wow, ESPN made yet another mistake with the White Sox, giving them 2 less victories), passing the 1962 Mets for the second-most losses all time and the most in the modern era. The 1899 Cleveland Spiders hold the MLB record with 134 losses. Year Team Losses 1899 Cleveland Spiders 134 2024 White Sox 121 1962 Mets 120 2003 Tigers 119 1916 Philadelphia Athletics 117
  6. He's playing well but the Padres are reverting to mean this week...Cease M.King Suarez Arraez are going to be traded if they fall down to the .500 mark. That said, Sheets would clearly be the best hitter on the White Sox this season. Would be leading team in both homers and RBIs. That's also what happens when you have much less pressure to produce AND feel comfortable in your environment.
  7. See COL Rockies and CLE Browns ownership/admin over the years. Jacksonville Jaguars come to mind as well.
  8. More Rule 5's and UDFA's here we come.
  9. If Teel can be the hitter he looks like tonight...that with seriously help with Quero striggling. Yet there are rumors they will hold Teel Schultz and H.Smith in the minors until at least late April/early May next year.
  10. At least they have committed significant long term money to Reynolds and Hayes.

  12. Might as well send him to Arizona/ACL League with Iriarte and Hagen while they're at it. 3 weeks ago he was around a 660ish OPS and it seemed like things were finally going in the right direction...then, poof, it all just disappeared, like a mirage of his former self.

  17. 7. Garrett Crochet, Red Sox (7) Boston's blockbuster trade for Crochet continues to pay off as he looks overpowering for the Sox. Following his start Wednesday night, Crochet's ERA is 1.98 through 11 starts, and he's racked up 78 K's in an MLB-high 68 1/3 innings pitched. He's gone at least seven innings in five starts already, tied with Logan Webb and Framber Valdez for the most of any pitcher. mlb.com

  19. mlb.com Get ready, baseball fans. The "Korean Ohtani" is coming. His name is Seong-Jun Kim, he's a two-way player, and he just signed with the Rangers as an international free agent. Now, we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves here … Kim is still in high school over in Korea, and he's only 18 years old. So it'll be a little while before we might see him in the Major Leagues. But the emergence of a new two-way phenom in baseball is exciting. And the good news is, the Rangers want Kim to stay that way. "We have full intent as an organization to develop him as a two-way player," Rangers international scouting director Hamilton Wise said after Texas signed Kim on Sunday. "We believe he has the qualities and ingredients for that challenge." Will Kim be a superstar like Ohtani? He thinks he can. "It's gonna be hard, not easy," Kim said after signing (via interpreter Kwangmin "Andre" Park). "But I will do my best. I'm not going to regret anything at all. I will do my best. … If I can improve better and earlier, I can be the best player in the big leagues." Here are some fast facts about Kim: He's a shortstop and right-handed pitcher. He's now ranked the Rangers' No. 15 prospect by MLB Pipeline. As a pitcher, he throws a fastball, slider, splitter and curveball and already touches 95 mph with his heater. As a batter, he's an above-average contact hitter and projects for 15-plus home run power in the future. His high school in Korea, Gwangju Jeil High School, has produced four other big leaguers: Byung-Hyun Kim, Hee-Seop Choi, Jae Weong Seo and Jung Ho Kang. Want to know more about the Korean Ohtani? 20. Best Bond actress/villain...? I'll go with Eva Green in the Craig movies... https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/james-bond-villains-ranked-worst-to-best/ 1. Goldfinger villains, Goldfinger and Odd Job 5. Jaws and Karl Stromberg (Richard Kiel and Curd Jurgens) The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) 6. Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem) Skyfall (2012) Ernst Stavro Blofeld's character is in at least two of the movies...played by different actors, including Telly Savalas Shout out to the late Yaphet Kotto (Mr. Big)
  21. Doesn't really matter with Fletcher/Julks vs. Tauchman, as Mike's currently on the MLB 40 man roster with a guaranteed major league contract. Both him and Benintendi will likely displace Capra and Palacios (although that would take away Venable's go-to #3/5 hitter with a career MLB ops in the 660's)
  22. The primary problem is that Baldwin doesn't hit well enough to carry his negative defense at practically every position you play him at. He almost has to be a 2B not to hurt the team, and that's not even assured. And relievers (unless they're elite closers or amazing lefties like an Andrew Miller who can go multiple innings) won't bring you much of anything in return unless you package 2-3 of them together. I assume you're referring here to guys like Pallette, Coffey...Grant Taylor now??? Originally, Garrett Schoenle was also on one poster's list, but has seemingly fallen off. Oppor or McDougal also profile here if they can master the whole command/control aspect of pitching.

  24. Crazy finish to that Pacers Knicks game.
  25. Robert's now down in the negative fWAR numbers again on the season...he's ranked ahead of only Doyle, Taveras, Nolan Jones, Moniak (more a RFer) and Jo Adell. Chase is on pace for a 3.5ish fWAR, Vargas around 3.3, Thaiss 2.1 (likely traded) and Sosa 1.4ish. That's pretty much it. Vaughn somehow is at -1.3, on pace for more than -4 fWAR on the season Baldwin -0.6, Palacios -0.4
