  1. Funny thing is it comes in stronger in China through Sox website than mlb app.
  2. More lines would be nice Chase. Bergolla with the nice eye. Quero inside out double down the 3B line. Montgomery Ks looking pretty much down the middle and low.
  3. Montgomery with just enough arm from Deep in the SS hole.
  4. Getz hinting they might use Shane Smith in high leverage OR starting lol.
  5. Braden pretty easy pop to lcf...caught just short of the track. Still adjusting to non aluminum bat. Easy inning for Schultz...pitchers winning so far.
  6. Yeah...he's far from Impacting the ball consistently, regardless of out/hit. The rest of his game leaves something to be desired. Smith with another Rodon-esque slider K. Quero looks to have a mid grade arm.
  7. Guy throwing well for someone with a 6.21 era last year.
  8. Sigh. Meidroth still not hitterish. Bergolla grounds out.
  9. Colton with the DP to Bergolla...not really tested there.
  10. Wonder if they"re considering a six man rotation??? or actually did promise B.Wilson starting spot/opportunity because no way Shane Smith isn't one of the five best guys this spring...that said, only 90 ip last season.
  11. No Condon? Or Dollander starting on the bump? Those are their two big headliners... https://www.denverpost.com/2025/03/13/rockies-chase-dollander-rebounds-spring-training/ Condon out six weeks with wrist injury and Dollander started on Thursday and struggled with control.
  12. Would probably have given it to Davis Martin as an organizational persistence/perseverance/resilience award...but this is fine too. Best pure stuff in the OD rotation. Unless you include Shane Smith, who has also owned a spot all spring long based on his performance as well as radar gun readings.
  13. Meidroth will not be slightly above big league SS average without an arm and range. There's already dribblers getting between him and Drury. This will just end up putting more pressure on a pitching staff not designed to be as strong individually as Crochet or even Fedde last season. The bullpen MIGHT be better? That's the best that one can assert at this point.
  14. Yes, this is all very logical...
  15. That wasn't the Cubs fans?
  16. So what is your alignment? If it was simply Meidroth 2B, Rojas 3B and Sosa at SS...at least you would have solid/decent defense at 2/4 infield positions...and Vargas is eventually if not already better than Vaughn too. So just DH Vaughn. It's like they cleared SS for Montgomery and now don't have a clue how to close the gap without everyone playing their weaker positions.
  17. https://www.mlb.com/news/roki-sasaki-beacon-of-hope-for-japan-after-2011-earthquake-tsunami https://www.mlb.com/news/tokyo-series-is-highlight-of-150-years-of-baseball-history
  18. Playing Rojas at his far and away second best position (2B) makes no sense. Playing Meidroth at his second or third best position (SS compared to 2B/3B) once again makes no sense. If you can't score any runs at least prevent some defensively. Finally, that alignment pushes either Vargas or Sosa to third...leaving all three positions weaker defensive line than the ideal positioning based on existing skills and potential liabilities.
  19. What would the players be willing to give up though in return? How to prove/enforce these policies to protect players...who defines what merits a promotion? On LAD almost every young pitching prospect is blocked...vs. White Sox where rotation competition is totally wide open. Even then, unlikely to see Schultz and Hagen Smith this yeat (Remember, even Bryant/Boras lost their case back then. Deck stacked against them in favor of owners/Commissioner's Office.) The players will never agree to a cap...owners probably won't even agree to a floor although that's essentially what exists for Competitive Balance teams like Oakland...where they have to raise payroll to $105 million to continue qualifying for themph CB exemption due to larger/but dying Oakland sports market.
  20. It has been the only way for teams like the Pirates and Rays to survive...usually trading the majority of their secondary players right as they become more expensive in arbitration. Even the Pirates have started extended guys like Hayes Reynolds and they will attempt to go the same with Cruz Skenes and 2 more of their core young starting pitchers.
  21. The bigger issue is dumping Arenado's salary for what direction with the Rockies? He was clearly tgeur best player. They're about as bad as the Bulls. Long suffering fans who still come out in pretty impressive numbers. For what? They're far and away the worst team of five in an unwinnable division.
  22. Sure...when someone has clearly won the job, that's fine. If he was swinging the bat well but lining into outs all over the place that would be one thing. Why take a slumping hitter into the cold weather to win MAYBE one extra game in April? Will it sell one more ticket? Probably just a handful. There will be more rainouts anyway compared to Charlotte. Meidroth Baldwin Ramos Elko Fletcher Colas and DeLoach can play everyday with Narvaez/Teel/Quero...however they want to divide up playing time. Maybe Omar is traded or DFAed to clear the runway.
  23. https://www.thehanshintigers.com/player-info/infielders/8-teruaki-sato/ 26 year old Teruaki Sato 3B took Blake Snell lefty on lefty FB at 96.4 mph pulled to rcf bleachers for 3 run homer...new celeb in Japan Andrew Friedman impressed Saiki Hanshin Tigers Dodgers 1 hit and one walk through 5 off Saiki Nakano 2B has double and a single
  24. Hiroto Saiki (才木 浩人, Saiki Hiroto, born November 7, 1998) is a Japanese professional baseball pitcher (RH) for the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Would be the #1 starter for the White Sox from Day 1...26 years old, prime of his career, 93-95 fb plus dreaded fork/splitter 6 strikeouts and a walk through 4 ip still no hits for either team Ohtani career against now two Ks, one massive home run on one knee for 424 feet and a high popup to CF
  25. Hard to generalize. Harper has been worth every penny to Phillies. And back issues are pretty challenging to predict. But both Bryant and Baez have been pretty pitiful.
