  1. Roki Sasaki at 98-101 in the first inning First K is against Seiya Suzuki 99.3 high fb swung through 1-2-3 retired in order

All across Tokyo, interlocking L.A. hats dot the bustling metropolis like deep blue flecks of paint on an asphalt canvas. A whopping 10,000 tickets — sales were capped at that number — were sold for the Dodgers’ Tokyo Dome practice on Friday. Games 1 and 2 of the 2024 World Series between the Dodgers and New York Yankees had higher viewership numbers in Japan (15.2 million average) than in the United States (14.5 million)."

  4. It limits his value to the Orioles, because they already have Henderson Westburg and Holliday. Basallo's in the same basic position stacked up behind Rutschman...limiting both those guys to 1B/DH roles. Mayo on the White Sox would be given third base to play his way off of, probably RF (because of his 60+ arm) and then LF/1B/DH.
  5. Not even Kristian Campbell...who zoomed from relatively unknown fourth rounder out of GA Tech to consensus Top Ten in the sport prospect was close to capable of going to the majors last year with Boston. And Montgomery also had a major injury last year to his ankle and missed the end of Ncaas and short season wooden bat experience. One of the three guys they refused to part with for Garrett Crochet.
  6. Does 10:38 for two miles 38 years ago count? Switch to 5k in cross country killed me, 16:40 the best for 3.1 miles. Now I just prefer to walk. No weird hip-twisting speed walking though...just a brisk pace. Playing soccer in spring seasons probably helped...but running was never freeing or liberating or "transcendant/al" or whatever. Just burned the heck out of your lungs and limbs lol.
  7. Well no Chase Meidroth so far at least.
  8. Bip? Dave?
  9. Tray you're asking him to jump to the big leagues with zero MiLB experience as of today. He's not Ventura Thomas or Alex Fernandez. On the Dodgers he wouldn't be up for 2 or even 2 1/2 seasons. Maybe even three.
  10. Baldwin?
  11. He has the fifth best stuff in the organization, but lack of command/control/stamina has destroyed thousands of stuff guys in baseball history or at least turned them into relievers.
  12. When that much veteran talent is off the roster from a year ago and Clevinger is your closer…color me skeptical.
  13. No I genuinely thought the ONLY you could possibly argue this rotation was equal or better was by including them in the second half of the season…at least Schultz and maybe Taylor if he continues evolving. And this coming from a “huge massive immense” Shane Smith fan. There’s just no way they are better after subtracting Crochet and Fedde. That’s way too much high quality production to replace…without dipping into the Big 3 for corresponding talent. A number of posters here have argued they see Schultz up in 2025. I happen to personally disagree due to it still being a JR-led operation as far as we all know. Your listing of all the AAA and AA starters plus Eder isn’t going to mean any of them will be of quality. Skepticism on Iriarte abounds. Nastrini has a tick or two higher velo. We shall see soon enough.

  15. Cannon and Martin Perez are definitely going to regress…Perez due to a weaker defense behind him and switching out Petco at night for GRF in the summer.
  16. “We're proactive about identifying teams that have locally born Japanese players on the roster, so that when we come over there, there is a real connection with the local fan base.” With this in mind, he adds that the league’s settled status in Japan made MLB’s selection of the Dodgers and the Cubs for the international series simple. “I think, a whole host of factors go into the ultimate final selection. You have to look at team interest, there's a lot of travel involved, so you’ve got to see what spring training schedules and player development cycles look like. “But, we landed on those two teams because they were super interested in being in the market and coming to Japan to bring their brand and their team to Japan, and they both have a great stable of local Japanese players that I think helps tell the story once you're on the ground.” … “In Japan, baseball is already the most popular sport. The NPB is the most popular league, followed by MLB right behind it, so it's not an awareness play. It's really around creating deeper engagement and creating new opportunities for fans to engage. “So what you're going to see [around the Tokyo Series] is still locally driven, for example we're going to be activating in Tokyo at the Sky Tree [monument], and that's really about reaching [a]broader [fanbase] and creating an experience for them to take pictures, be a part of the game, etc.” This desire for a wide array of touchpoints for the league in Japan extends to its broadcast makeup, which is similarly diverse. Distribution of MLB’s media rights in Japan is handled by major rights agency Dentsu in an eight-year partnership that will run through the 2028 campaign and could reportedly be worth more than $60 million per year. The league is broadcast by pan-Asian broadcaster SPOTV which holds MLB rights across the region, and recently the Prime Video service secured broadcast rights for the Tokyo Series and associated games. https://www.sportcal.com/features/big-in-japan-how-mlb-is-swinging-for-the-fences-in-the-asian-market/?cf-view
  17. 53-56 is the second most optimistic lol.
  18. He's currently a fringeish Top 85-100 guy with Toronto. Was reading this in the minor league section as well but closed...seems they are QUITE aware of the limitations of both Baldwin and Meidroth.
  19. Who is the Cy Young candidate worth two top 30ish and 40-60 prospects? Who else will finish in the top 15-20 for fWAR like Fedde did? If you could add the Big 3 in and count them, sure...but all will be closely monitored and still on innings and pitch count limits for at least parts of this season. May 2026 seems more likely unless Ishbia is taking over much earlier than we are aware about.
  20. He was just hired in early November, 2023. Gonzalez had just been drafted the summer prior. At any rate...those are as skeptical/pragmatic comments as you'll ever see about a mid first round draft pick from his own farm director so quickly. I'm betting we never see such commentary on Braden Montgomery in the future, for example...unless it's questioning whether can play CF as opposed to his more ideal and natural RF positioning.
  21. Assuming you mean Gonzalez and not the White Sox director of player development lol... As Paul Janish spent nearly 1000 games and 12 years in the minors.
  22. Maybe if the Sox provided fans anything interesting to talk about for the past decade plus... There's more interesting debate here about the NBA or NFL recently. People used to be able to talk about politics in a fairly nuanced and objective way until 2015. Or about movies and tv shows. I have never in my entire life ventured a solitary opinion thought or concern about Britney Spears. Go ahead and search for one. As for Clark, I'm clearly the only Iowan proud of someone whose BB elevated the women's Final Four over the men's ratings (wasn't even that close) for the first time in the history of the sport. Reddit and various Iowa/Fever boards have thousands and thousands more posts about her than all the combined Sox boards still remaining active in cyber space. And as for Puig...he was exciting for baseball at least. He was part of numerous Dodgers teams that averaged 99 wins for the past 12 years. It's not like I spent 100's of posts on Jared Kelenic or Gavin Lux lol.
  23. If I'm an MLB GM I'm disagreeing on Benintendi Vaughn and Meidroth and feeling sorry you're reduced to relying on Drury.
  24. Just list one single insight about the Sox or baseball that someone has liked in the last year or two that you have added...? About the NFL or NBA maybe. Baseball related...? Don't think so. Go ahead...please put me on ignore, I would prefer that so much, really.
  25. So basically you don't have anything to contribute as usual but snarky comments. Apparently being vigilant about information pertaining to the future owner is beneath you. Instead...your seeming goal is to draw out Cali in a debate about why the mods (minus Texsox) mostly seem to gain more enjoyment from belittling others. I don't think you've even been in a single spring training game thread. Why even bother if you don't like the team or players? I really feel legitimately sorry for those who have to deal with you in daily life...Or maybe you just take out your frustrations on strangers online and are a decent person otherwise, who knows?
