  1. Maybe they need to replace Schiffren with Dan Bernstein...
  2. Except nobody on this board thought the years on that contract were appropriate. Nearly everyone wanted three years or no AB signing at all. But it's somehow now even more appropriate the biggest signing in team history would be the most inconsequential or under the radar in the overall scheme of MLB.
  3. Definitely not the team trainer. Should have added a category for Nick Maton lol.
  4. At the rate things are going and with Ishbia now looking on...it's probably closer to 3 to 3 1/2 years. Five years at JR's current age just sounds too slow developing to wait out. Plus the stadium issue is at least somewhat tied to the Sox being at least competitive as an organization.
  5. Rodon has held up fairly decently...enough to get rewarded with big contracts on multiple occasions. Even Giolito got bailed out by the Red Sox front office.
  6. Tatis was on steroids! Preller and Get were both fooled by Martin Maldonado...lol.
  7. Almost all their first draft picks were moved quickly. Madrigal. Burdi. Fulmer before he was ready. Collins. Burger was the only one who took time because of the injuries and then Covid.
  8. That's what happens when you make enemies on a national and not just local/regional basis.
  9. "Incentives warranted it" lol. That sounds more like JR. Too bad Moncada Grandal Jimenez didn't have those same incentives built in. We couldn't even afford Kyle Gibson now.
  10. Last year would have been the time to complain...or maybe he was never right when he came over from the Yankees??
  11. Might as well throw Taylor out there... It's so bad that you start to miss the theoretical/hypoethetical Brandon Drury offense.
  12. Now watch Drake beats Texas Tech and makes Ben McCollum the hottest coaching prospect in the sport lol.
  13. This day is pretty much an unmitigated disaster. Smith Schultz and Thorpe. Now RS is back to 29th in baseball (-35)...leading only the Marlins.
  14. Yeah High A placement is way too aggressive for someone with his K/contact issues. Let him build his confidence up one step at a time.
  15. I actually wanted HaSeong Kim all along but the Rays were suddenly willing to spend on a SS after what they went through with Franco.
  16. So much for all that pitching depth. Adams Thorpe Bush Carela Berroa
  17. Braden's the closest, but even he lacks that easy top line speed to the gaps that Robert possesses.
  18. Then you better start following North Shore Partners and the venture capital markets...
  19. Orioles brought back Kyle Gibson for between $5.25 and could be almost $7 million based up in incentives. Let the handwringing begin.
  20. No. It was all minor leaguers.
  21. Not to mention if Cease has another 3-4 months similar to 2024 he's going to fetch even more for a 2 month rental.
