  5. His arm is closer to Madrigal than Royce Clayton....which is hardly a compliment. Meidroth has only played 199 minor league games (as of last year in late June). He is not a finished product, and it will be years before he is. But, his development and early success are encouraging signs for a Red Sox organization in the early stages of building their next young core at the major league level. https://www.milb.com/worcester/news/chase-meidroth-ascension-through-the-minor-leagues&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwj6l5rWrI2MAxU_LkQIHTCcFxIQFnoECAYQAg&usg=AOvVaw1KKXibDueCqgCuWAvZtNqS "Meidroth comes with just one tool that grades as average or better. He has fringy speed and arm strength, and he's not adventurous on the bases or especially in the range. He may open the season as Chicago's shortstop despite below-average range there, and he fits best at second base because his arm is stretched at third base." 2025 Scouting grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 35 | Run: 45 | Arm: 45 | Field: 45 | Overall: 45
  6. If the Big 3 Shane Smith and Burke all live up to their potential #2 rotation in all of baseball behind LAD.
  7. Looks like a softball uniform mixed with 1983.
  8. There's also a key missing phrase. Impacting a baseball. Teel, both Montgomery's Wolkow...maybe Quero. Not really sure who's even close to 6th organizationally in terms of ability to really drive the ball? Maybe Bonemer. Not Zavala until he proves it this year and resuscitates his career.
  9. He was the top prospect in all of baseball...just like Bryce Harper when he came up. With Meidroth, at mid summer last year even those in his own organization felt he was still multiple years away. “He walks more than he strikes out, which is incredible for Triple-A,” Red Sox Director of Player Development Brian Abraham said. “A focus of his is really impacting the baseball to the pull-side. He’s probably a little bit on the smaller side, but again, adding strength and adding good weight will help his bat speed.” Meidroth has only played 199 minor league games. "With fringy speed and arm strength, Meidroth doesn't offer much value on the bases or in the field. He's best suited for second base but primarily played third in Double-A and shortstop in Triple-A because of team needs. He can get job the done at second but lacks the arm for the hot corner and has below-average range at short." https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/chase-meidroth-805367?stats=career-r-hitting-milb
  10. Then you're going to bench Sosa? If he's Dustin Pedroia Lite as some claim...why throw away an extra year of control when we're deliberately sandbagging the season for 2026 draft positioning? For one month of mostly cold weather baseball? And if spring training play was completely meaningless, Drury wouldn't be making the team. Neither would Jankowski based on last season, but Venable trusts him as a glue player. It's kind of silly to stick Sosa at DH when they still need to decide if he can play any infield position competently...just like Vargas at 3B and 1B.
  11. https://threequarterslot.com/2025/01/23/2026-mlb-draft-justin-lebron-ss-alabama/ Can't believe Lebron is 6`2" and has that much pop for such a thin frame. Reminiscent of Alexei Ramirez in 2008 physique-wise.
  12. Player: Justin Lebron School: Alabama Position(s): SS Height: 6’2″ Weight: 175 lbs. Bats: Right Throws: Right Summary: A bit of a hidden gem, Lebron made an impact the moment he set foot in Tuscaloosa. He earned the starting shortstop role in Fall ball and was a key member of the lineup all year. Hitting .338 with a good approach and ability to recognize offspeed well, he looked every bit the part of an SEC star. On top of the quality bat to ball skills, he launched a dozen home runs despite his lean frame and earned himself a call up to the US Collegiate National Team over the summer. He has quality actions and plenty of range up the middle to go with a plus arm.
  13. Sox 7-14 now 9-20 last spring Venable might want to rethink having no identified closer. Not that he was managing this one they just lost.
  14. They simply have to decide if Sox need more offense in Gray or defense in Amaya. As a fan of runs scored in general...prefer offense lol. Schoenle gets Lawlar with foul tip changeup. Mancini last out. And he prompt blasts a walk off two run homer over Tatum to CF. Sox lose 9-8 after courageous comeback.
  15. One out grounder to J.Gonzalez Schoenle still in 3-0 to Hampson walks to set up for top prospect 3B Jordan Lawlar
  16. guy throwing for AZ comes in at 98 99 99...99.7 Juan Murillo was in Dodgers' org previously last pitch 100 Lipcius up was in Tigers and Dodgers organization 2019 draftee Jacob Gonzalez vs. heater walked more than he struck out three consecutive years at Ole Miss Hampson catches what sounded like broken bat flare 8-7 to bottom of ninth
  17. lhp Schoenle in Padres 7-14 White Sox 7-13, Mariners now 6-16, Marlins 6-11
  18. Camiletti struggles with ball down the line at third...first runner reaches for AZ bottom of the 8th. Jacob Gonzalez erases him with DP. Pallette out lhp in...no idea who's managing which game. Assuming Venable stayed in Glendale.
  19. Wilfred Veras nails a double for two ribbies and an 8-7 lead. Sox rallies from 6-1 ... 7-4 deficits. Two simultaneously comebacks today. Pallette struggled a bit in his outing. Gave up a run but in line for the win if bullpen can hold it.
  20. Jordan Sprinkle wins it for the Sox...grounds into RF Terrell Tatum scores. Gray player of the game. Stanford 8th rounder Eddie Park scored tying run as PR for Ramos.
  21. Tristan Gray drives one into gap after a deep foul ball...tie game .385 1.126 making bid for SS job if his field could hold up there.
  22. Palette just struck out Trey Mancini...didn't realize he was still playing after all his health problems. Three Sox base runners thrown out in game vs. Rockies. 11 hits no runs. Quero lined one out deep to Beck. Benintendi not far away from getting at bats against minor leaguers...progressive faster than expected. Ramos walks...still dealing with elbow. Eddie Park pr.
  23. Len Kasper accidentally woke up Eric Karros in Tokyo trying to get info on his son for game today. Forgot he was there for Ohtani Series. Apparently Meidroth played in CA high school with Karros' sons...apparently a big fan?and compared him with Dustin Pedroia.
  24. Rojas also managed to hurt his right big toe in a collision...sigh. Owen White at 90-92 another soft tosser finesse guy. But has a WS ring from two appearances with Rangers in 2023.
  25. Tauchman single Vargas and Drury doubles pull Sox to 6-4 against AZ.
