3/10 - Sox @ A's - 3:05 CDT - spring training
Looking like Sheets might make Padres. .200 3 homers .793 Or JD Martinez will delay pickleball stardom dream for one more year. Jose Iglesias just signed minor league deal...surprised Getz didn't bite on that one to improve upon Amaya. Also nice to see Josh Rojas with two stolen bases today.

Sosa one of top 2-3 hitters all spring. Have to keep Taylor to back up Robert's upcoming trade...just don't think they trust Fletcher any longer.

He's definitely "Wally Pipping" Amaya today...15 seconds of fame in camp.

Taylor guaranteed to make roster practically. Fletcher needs to find himself offensively playing everyday at Charlotte.

Sosa needs to be playing if they have no options to make a decision on him. A's finding some key hitters in Rooker and Andujar from other teams...Butler Nick Kurtz Gelof Wilson internally. Langeliers another important player.

Thats the kind of profile that hits a wall in Birm but hope he can at least add some Xb power not to end up as a utility guy.

Vargas coming on recently. Think being around former Dodgers' teammates at camp has helped with his comfort level...based on spring interactions. Smiling a lot more often.

The big question is whether he can at least hit his weight...defense never a question mark. Bryse Wilson in...not starting/opening a game a clue to his regular season assignment?

Another pitcher in the first? We need to fix/address the position player side at some point. To make a big splash to inject life into the fanbase as well.

A's announcers say Robert looks great again. Sosa and Rojas with back to back hits...Lenyn up the middle. Also they are big fans of Rojas' versatility.

19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
It may soon be possible to bundle ESPN and local RSNs in the same streaming package, but do not expect those networks to be part of any ESPN service in the near future. ESPN and Main Street Sports Group — operator of the FanDuel-branded regional sports networks — have discussed bundling their streaming offerings, but have not discussed the possibility of ESPN including the FanDuel RSNs as an add-on to ESPN+ and its upcoming direct-to-subscriber service, John Ourand of Puck reported Thursday. The arrangement would solely constitute a bundle of the separate streaming services, akin to the existing bundle of Disney+, Max and Hulu. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2025/03/espn-main-street-fanduel-rsns-discuss-bundling-services/

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
White Sox: Shortstop "Competition has been the theme during Will Venable’s first Spring Training as manager, and when factoring in recent injuries, more than one roster spot remains undecided. Colson Montgomery, MLB's No. 39 prospect overall, per MLB Pipeline, had a viable shot at shortstop at camp’s outset and still might be the choice, but he has been out of game action for 10 days going into Sunday due to back issues. Fellow rookie Chase Meidroth has played three games at shortstop during Cactus League, with seven for Jacob Amaya, who provides the best option with the glove. Veteran Josh Rojas also has the defensive versatility to move there."-- Scott Merkin mlb.com Interesting that Baldwin's name not mentioned here...nor Sosa.

Passan address current challenges with TB/A's stadium situations, cites Sox and Royals predicaments
A suburban stadium has worked for the Braves...but that's probably unique to Atlanta's downtown/reputation, to an extent. Kauffman/Arrowhead and Arlington, TX are more connected to interstate highways/transportation hubs than any other particular reason for their siting. Kauffman's basically the model for GRate, minus the CF/fountains. The upper deck slants/rake are almost exactly the same. Treacherous. 85% sit in the lower bowl, except on nights when there is significant attendance. You don't have anything besides parking lots in KC (used to be a Taco Bell and a hotel where visiting teams stayed at one point before most relocated to the Country Club Plaza), but then again it's also perceived to be a much safer area for tailgating and just hanging out in the lots before games in general.
