“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
And perhaps it's still possible, but Jerry Reinsdorf (or "sources close to him") expressed a willingness to only cover $200 million or so of a far more expensive project, and lawmakers at the local or state levels showed no appetite to cover the rest. Mansueto, meanwhile, has separated himself from most of his cohorts by saying that teams should be expected to pay for and own their facilities: We'll see what happens when it comes to hammering out an infrastructure plan, but the willingness to cover construction would seem to make the Fire a superior partner for the city in comparison to the White Sox, whose approach to building a $2 billion stadium can be boiled down to: Showing some interesting renderings. Talking about how cool it would be. Saying "c'mon guys" https://soxmachine.com/2025/06/chicago-fire-announce-plans-for-soccer-stadium-on-south-loop-site-white-sox-wanted

Trade Slater/Taylor/Tauchman...guaranteed that the Padres would take Slater or Tauchman at this point. Heyward has been terrible and probably is done.

Is he better than Nick Madrigal, that's all that matters, lol...

Rockies have won 2 in a row over the Marlins... 11-50 White Sox 15-46 a year ago, 4 games ahead (or behind) that pace

Can we send him back? The White Sox used to have the Islanders AAA team in the PCL back in the day.

Any time you can trade Carpenter for Ibanez...it's a moral victory.

They're finally realizing that Smith is currently one of the most important members of this organization and needs to be protected a bit.

One out. Note to Venable. Don't let him start the 7th.

Whenever we THINK we finally have a 2B/SS who COULD end up with a 2.5-3.0 fWAR...it's like there's a curse on this franchise ever since Anderson got knocked out by Ramirez after getting injured by his own 3B (former Royal to boot).

Craig Grebeck and Matt Merullo would be absolute hitting stars on this team, with McKay Christensen in CF fitting right in.

81 pitches for Smith so far. Venable will go for a sixth, but this is always the time of the game where Smith struggles mightily or gets knocked out.

Perfect that Capra manages to get the bases loaded situation there. Scoring by a walk, since we can't hit with RISP. Smith a bit reminiscent of Dylan Cease...so many pitches thrown, K's, BB's, HBP's, it's a wonder he can make it through 5 innings each time out.

1.2 fWAR Meidroth 0.9 Vargas 0.7 Thaiss (well, sort of a member of the team) 0.6 Sosa (before the trade with the Mets along w/ Robert) 0.1 Taylor (more trade value than Robert, lol) 0.0 Benintendi Robert(s) (-0.3), Palacios (-0.5), Baldwin (-0.6), Quero (-0.1), Amaya, Vaughn (-1.3) all in negative territory

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?pos=cf&qual=100&pagenum=2&pageitems=30 If you cut down to 100 at-bats or more for CFers, Robert is #40. -0.3, and ahead of only Taveras and Moniak. #2 is the Dodgers' young CF, Andy Pages.

6/3 Games
I was joking...but if he struggles for another 2-3 weeks like this, they'll have to consider doing something if he doesn't show any signs of coming out of it.

Maybe McKinven is actually the GM. You have Houser, Smith, B.Wilson, Capra, McKendry in AAA...

Have gone from promoting Braden to Birmingham/Chicago to more likely sending him back to Kannapolis...although neither is going to happen. He will be in Winston Salem at least through mid to late July.

They should have pulled him as quickly as they saw his velocity was off by 5-6 MPH right off the bat.

Nice to see three potential members of the 2026 White Sox in the lineup lol. Boring boring boring. Brieske was a high leverage reliever just last year.
