Rojas is so much better at third. Amaya or Baldwin can play SS to start with.

Montgomery doesn't make that play.

Vargas ole.

02/26 - Sox vs Padres
Nice play by Brosseau more of a 1B DH historically. Vargas pulling every ball on the ground after Stone forecasted just that on the Peralta sinker.

Sox Spring Training notes
After a three-up, three-down second, Sasaki seemed to lose some steam in the third inning, bookending a well-struck drive from White Sox prospect Tim Elko with a pair of walks to end his outing. Get tickets: Dick Allen bobble, Comiskey Park radio & much more "It's exciting for those guys to compete against Sasaki and the other pitchers today," White Sox director of player development Paul Janish said. "Pretty cool to be part of the first time [Sasaki] faced opposing hitters. We are hopeful both of those guys (Teel/Elko) give themselves a chance to play in the Major Leagues this season." mlb.com

AJ Pierzynski: Ishbia-led White Sox organization would be a "powerhouse"
And famously expressed zero interest in Ohtani and basically tepid interest in Bryce Harper based upon those abbreviated negotiations.

AJ Pierzynski: Ishbia-led White Sox organization would be a "powerhouse"
They will need to come up with $500 million to $1 billion for a new stadium as well...at least 50% or more of the costs. If they ever want to build back the value of their media rights they can't run a team out there without a single star player. Baseball...after all, is an entertainment-based endeavor.

AJ Pierzynski: Ishbia-led White Sox organization would be a "powerhouse"
What other solution is there? Waiting on uncertain minor league prospects is far from guaranteed. It worked for KC Houston Cubs in the previous generation of rebuilding teams...but look at where the Sox Padres and Blue Jays are right now. Sox have hopefully bottomed out, but the other two are in pretty precarious positions.

White Sox place 6 again on FSS Top 100
https://futurestarsseries.com/mlb-top-100-prospects-walcott-painter-schultz-basallo-red-sox-tigers-mariners/ Biggest take here is Braden with one of his highest rankings and Colson one of his lowest besides Law... Mariners with 7 in Top 100. Dodgers obviously right up there.

AJ Pierzynski: Ishbia-led White Sox organization would be a "powerhouse"
Ho would they get enough small time investors to even add up to $50-100 million? The Packers' "public" ownership situation is far more complicated than that appearance. Even the Boston Celtics issued stock/shares in her 80s and 90s.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
The "cash call" for futute stadium investment funds (if they don't sell out this week to Ishbia at a $1.8 billion valuation) makes sense... "The minority owners may not have the cash available or want to put up the cash for a new stadium. Thus, they sell to someone like Ishbia (or Hobson) who has the cash to meet this capital call. I’m not a corporate lawyer, but looking at all this together, it seems like some sort of succession plan is forming. The owners are selling to, essentially, richer people so the richer people can raise cash to build a new stadium. Jerry seems to be making a plan to transfer operational control. The new era of the White Sox is forming in front of our eyes. It looks pretty good honestly." soxmachine.com comments

2025 Things to be Excited About List
Already way behind in RS/RA allowed standings. Dodgers and DBacks only team with -10 to -19 range. White Sox at -26 last time I checked.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
https://www.kgw.com/video/sports/locked-on/lo-chicago/white-sox-show/justin-ishbias-white-sox-involvement-could-mean-a-new-ballpark-is-on-the-horizon-or-something-more/535-7005de66-f9a3-4b3f-9acf-4ce055905d96 I don't have headphones at work....what does this say? Just idle journalistic speculation? Justin Ishbia's White Sox involvement could mean a new ballpark is on the horizon or something more... The report on Friday has left us, as Sox fans, with more questions than answers, that's for sure. The hope is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and the promise of better days is right in front of us. I still struggle to believe that Justin Ishbia abandoned his opportunity to have 100% control of a Major League franchise to simply increase his shares of the White Sox, continue to be a silent partner, and maybe just help provide funding for a new stadium. There has to be more. Of course, the team can't say that he is the heir apparent to controlling our favorite baseball team, but why else would he do this? Why would we know specific dollar amounts and deadlines and that an investment firm based in Chicago is brokering the deal if this was just merely increasing minority shares? Jerry Reinsdorf turned 89 years old today. He has everything he could possibly want in his life, so it's time he did something for Sox fans and gave us the gift of ownership that values winning above all else. With all of this in mind, if Justin Ishbia increases his stakes in the team, is it unreasonable to think he would want to start signing real players and looking to turn around this team? But would his desire to improve the on-field product lead to strife with Jerry and other remaining partners? We all know Jerry has a four-decade history of suppressing salaries and has valued profit margins above playoff appearances, but Justin Ishbia looks to be the polar opposite. Would these opposing viewpoints lead to internal conflict? Or could Ishbia's deep pockets alleviate Jerry's worries when it comes to handing out market-value contracts in the current baseball world? https://ontapsportsnet.com/mlb/ishbia-white-sox-ownership-stake-increase-sparks-hope

Tuesday - 2/25/25 - Sox at Rox spring training
It would be weird to only focus on his strikeouts (negatively), or ONLY focus on his two well-hit balls off fastballs (one off Thielbar, the homer...the other today in his 3rd at-bat that was a line-up with high EV and probability of being a hit if it wasn't right at the outfielder. In that case, he would be hitting .286 instead of .143 and there would be less "sighing/exasperation" over every little thing he does/has done. That said, anointing him as a possibility to start the season at SS has put some additional pressure on him, in terms of media and fan expectations. Not sure that was really necessary...maybe they feel they need to challenge him? Whatever works as motivation...God knows what they did with Vaughn and Sheets these years, because they never REALLY risked losing their spot on the team no matter what they did or didn't do on the field of play.

Sox Spring Training notes
You ranked Smith that high because he has to stay on the roster or be offered back...or you're unsure about Thorpe's long-term viability as a starter/health/injury status? Or both? Nastrini arguably could be lower than Iriarte, but that's not really a big difference obviously.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
- Sox Spring Training notes
Cannon and Thorpe right now (before the Big 3) are the only even 50/50 possibilities sticking around. Martin seems likely to be traded. Perez for sure will be traded if he's anywhere close to second half 2024 results with the Padres. Wilson if they don't need to keep him to eat innings and protect the next wave. Scholtens...not even sure he's long for baseball, let alone representing any type of trade value when/if he returns. But the next wave is Iriarte, Mason Adams, Ky Bush, Nastrini, Carela, Eder (likely a reliever from all indications)...Berroa, but he might already be out (with elbow injury) and he's once again more likely a reliever. There are a LOT of dudes and the overall depth seems better, but what's the actual quality of that depth?- Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
