  1. Forgot three fired Koenig last year at this time.
  2. https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/phoenix-suns-utah-jazz-2025102726/ 51 for Markkanen
  3. Maybe don't challenge Edman. Teoscar, sure. Once Hernandez cleanly fielded the ball along that wraparound corner like KC and Boston...no way to score. Varsho in the postseason AB AVG HR RBI SB OPS 55 .273 3 10 0 .831
  4. If they called blocking the plate when the throw pulled him there and he was out by 10-15 feet there might be a riot at Chavez Ravine.
  5. The same logic applies to the White Sox not being the 29th or 30th team in MLB every season. Or relying on Rule 5 picks every year to fill out a staff. No team in modern baseball has pulled that off two consecutive years.. adding starting rotation pieces.
  6. Sasaki with a tightrope act...Freeman and Edman preserve the tie. Hoffman in a non-closing situation. Ohtani with a shot at a walk off. Or Betts or Freeman. Ohtani steal if walked?
  7. LoL. Sure, and Colson will maintain a Ohtani/Schwarber/Raleigh HR pace as well.... They need three starters. Burke Cannon and Gomez can't be relied upon. One might be Thorpe eventually... but no sure thing there.
  8. ex Sox pitcher Chris Bassitt...looks like he will get through 8th
  9. Wrobleski Sheehan Sasaki would be 1-2-3 White Sox starting rotation... Ohtani postseason numbers now AB AVG HR RBI SB OPS 53 .283 8 14 1 1.188
  10. Craziness. Still have Wisconsin Florida State Colorado BC Mississippi State Michigan State Rutgers Kentucky NC State and UNC still to go. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-football/news/12-college-football-coaches-who-could-be-fired-december/95fc3d295ef5c143145ba681
  11. The Pirates at least have the makings of a dominant young rotation...Skenes Chandler J.Jones Ashcraft Keller etc.
  12. #5 Blue Jays payroll 2025 Payroll: $255,230,405 Tax Payroll: $279,986,096
  13. Series back on...huge momentum shift here. Edman goes from 2024 hero to 2025 goat.
  14. Not in the first half of the season. What is their starting rotation? There's only two guys right now you can even count on to fill a spot.
  15. There's no injection of talent from the minors this year and Colson's might be one of the most unpredictable future trajectories that you can come up with.
  16. They actially wrote JOB and not extended internship?
  17. Sure, if they also had Machado OR Harper... This is why we're currently looking at a 5 1/2 to 6 year rebuild. Bit surely we could have scrounged up the equivalent of Alex Verdugo somehow.
  18. With all the intrinsic built-in challenges the team should have in Chicago vs. Detroit Cleveland Minnesota and KC. Imagine being in the West or East of either league... They'd be the Tennessee Titans, but even worse off.
  19. Peter Seidler was absolutely beloved in SD. Still is, each year removed from his untimely passing...but you probably think he was irresponsible for spending unsustainably for that size of a market, right? How about not mocking the very concept of even bidding for the greatest player in the history of the modern game, at least?
  20. Yes because we have so many players in the 2.5-3.25 fWAR range. Well, really just two. C.Montgomery and Kyle Teel. And maybe Braden eventually. Apparently 4.8 fWARs (2022) are now to be totally discounted as well. So I'm going to just copy and paste the FutureIsNear's dismissal of fWAR for any CF SS 2B C. Of course he dutifully cited the traditional Greg-like stat of batting average to augment his argument. Maybe we should simply sign Luis Arraez...and forget that he has to actually play in the field somewhere when not DHing.
  21. So you would prefer I give you an old fashioned scouting report with 40s, 50's and 60s? Are you Grady Fuson from Moneyball or something? Gold Glove level defense has X amount of value, especially up the middle of the diamond. Maybe just not to the White Sox based on their level of play the last three seasons. Defensive scores also take into consideration arm talent and simply discounting GRF because it's not as tricky or expensive as Boston or Detroit doesn't make it unimportant. That was readily apparent in 2024 when Fletcher attempted to play there.
  22. Maybe if Getz did his JOB and actually managed to trade Robert...there would be a spot.
  23. When's the last time the Sox maximized the value of asset? (Anderson Vaughn Jimenez Grandal Kopech Moncada Robert Cease Rodon Lopez Lynn Kelly Graveman Bummer Keuchel amount to exactly what strategic value now?) Giolito for Quero is pretty much it...and that was due more to desperation on LA's part to make a positive impression on Ohtani heading into FA and has been universally questioned. Giving a QO to Kimbrel led to Pollock, which then led to Benintendi. Pretty crazy that Quero and fading Vargas are the "best" moves, and one of them was Hahn, unless you want to believe in Albertus and Jeral Perez. Yes, I just wrote down 15 Sox names because there's never been such a disintegration of talent with next to nothing to show for it in modern baseball history. Heck, it could even have amounted to 16-17 names with Madrigal and Burger added.
  24. https://www.sportcal.com/features/big-in-japan-how-mlb-is-swinging-for-the-fences-in-the-asian-market/ https://historicbaseball.com/baseballs-international-expansion-new-markets-and-talent/
  25. To be theoretically decided before he leaves job in 2029 (there's that year again)... “I've said this before, you know, I'd like to have teams picked before I'm done,” he said. Nashville is considered a front-runner for one of those two teams, while the other city is a complete mystery box following the Oakland Athletics’ impending move to Las Vegas. One location that, understandably, receives a lot of speculation is Montreal, which hosted the Expos from 1969 to 2005. With the Jays in the World Series and the Canadian market performing so strongly, Manfred was asked whether Montreal might be in the mix for expansion down the road. His answer? “Certainly other cities in Canada that would be viable besides Toronto." yahoosports.com Vancouver is the only one that immediately comes to mind, but too close to Seattle...Edmonton used to have a AAA team, along with Calgary. Others: Charlotte, Portland, Salt Lake City, Austin/San Antonio, Orlando likely out if the Rays stay in TB, Mexico City (highly unlikely) https://gameday-analysis.com/2025/06/07/whos-next-15-cities-that-deserve-an-mlb-expansion-team/ Some of these names seem completely improbable like Louisville and Albuquerque.
