White Sox signing Randal Grichuk to major league deal
-0.5 fWAR Acuna and Benintendi provide the same negative value and have contributed equally to 16-18. It’s on Getz to find someone/anyone that can at least provide 1-2 fWAR production. Holding into Benintendi is the equivalent of Enron Worldcom and AIG returning to their previously established market values. See Phillies cutting Castellanos to get a theoretically more productive player in there.

Like Robert when he was swinging with just one hand?

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
They added ONE Asian region scout, a Japanese former player/coach. And they have Takatsu and Iguchi, lol.

White Sox signing Randal Grichuk to major league deal
Antonacci is far from developed as a LFer. He's more of a band aid. He's better than Vaughn or Sheets in the outfield, but that's still a pretty low bar. Benintendi has nothing to do with Getz and should be waived. He's not worth anything any longer. Sunk cost fallacy. And you left out Acuna, quite intentionally. And Hays' history of 18 injuries since Covid. And Pereira's injury history beginning with the Yankees. Tristan Peters has been better than expected (for now) and Hill a replacement level player. The fact remains that Braden is the only real legit prospect out there...which is largely thanks to Crochet. No I don't count Sammy Zavala or Jacob Gonzalez here.

30. Angels (previously: 22) It was fun for a while – and Mike Trout is still quite fun – but the bottom fell out for the Angels this week with eight losses in their last nine games, including two at the hands of the Mets, a team that had come into Anaheim very much reeling. The Angeles’ current winning percentage would, in fact, be the worst in their franchise’s history. (Despite their struggles, they have never lost 100 games. mlb.com

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
20. White Sox (previously: 28) Don’t forget, in the midst of Muneamania, that Munetaka Murakami’s teammate is nearly matching him homer for homer. Colson Montgomery actually homered in the same game as Murakami seven times in the White Sox’s first 35 games. According to the great Sarah Langs – who had a birthday this week! – that’s the most by any teammate duo in their team’s first 35 games of a season in MLB history. mlb.com

Is it time to bring up Hagen Smith?

Is it time to bring up Hagen Smith?
White Sox already Top 5 in walks and taxing the bullpen.

Bring up Braden Montgomery to play Right Field
He can't do it. All he can do is move Bonemer or Vargas out there, or Colson. Or Gonzalez. Bergolla can't hit for enough power to justify a move from the infield. One of the MIFers from the Dodgers won't be an easy outfield conversion either. Assuming Cholowsky's still the pick. Maybe it's the 41st draft pick from a P4/5 conference in 69 days. They have to trade Murakami to get back major league ready outfielders from the Dodgers. They have 4-5 to choose from.

Bring up Braden Montgomery to play Right Field
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Major_League_Baseball_draft 2 4 6 7 8 9 12... Who do the Sox take? Another pitcher because they simply don't sign big free agent pitching deals in the $100-350 million range and their historical success starts with Sale Santiago Quintana and Crochet as internally developed lefties. Schultz too of course.

Bring up Braden Montgomery to play Right Field
Getz has had 2 3/4'ers years and Crochet Robert and Burger to trade...not to mention all the young and promising positional stars in the Hagen Smith draft class. Bazzana and Hagen will likely end up as the biggest misses if trends continue.

5/2 Games
Getz doesn't have the cojones. Gonzalez not his draft pick.

Shane Smith sent down. Update: Has rotator cuff strain.
Injury prone his entire career since Wake Forest.

Bring up Braden Montgomery to play Right Field
Stowers was a Top 25/30 player last year. Trade them who exactly? Peters? Hagen Smith? J.Gonzalez? They already had Hill rostered.

Not extending Murakami would be a PR disaster
White Sox fans have longer memories lol.
-
Acuna
Why bring him up to ride the bench? Only Antonacci and Pereira have prospect status.
