0-4 UCLA might have cost Franklin the PSU job last such upset UTEP over BYU in 1985...0-4 or worse beating a Top Ten team -
Cubs self destructing early

If anything...waiting another day gives the "hot" teams that won during the first week even more of an advantage, making the 4 bye teams wait yet another day or even day and a half in the case of the later start times. And obviously another day of rest for all their pitchers.

They were avoiding Monday night football…and needed that travel off day. You also would be starting the playoffs right after the regular season ended staring Monday. Padres had to fly to Chicago. Tigers from Boston to Cleveland. Dodgers from Seattle home and the Reds from Milwaukee to LA. The best they could do is have both AL series start Monday.

Joe Montana? Tim Brown? Rocket Ishmail his Heisman year?

Michael Gartner Michael Gartner, chairman and principal owner of the Iowa Cubs, who had owned the team with partners since 1999. Silver Lake bought the Iowa Cubs bas… This has very little to do with the Chicago Cubs. It's all about private equity interests running 45 clubs now. It's kind of ridiculous that a player doesn't realize the clear majority of minor league teams are independently operated. The equipment stuff, player and coaching salaries are the responsibility of the Cubs, but not for the general impression McClung is pointing to. But that wouldn't lead to an interesting headline that the Chicago Cubs/Ricketts are cheapskates.

Why would you put your best OF arm in left? Baldwin at first base? That’s highly unlikely. Unless you want another 65-70 win team.

https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/DET/2025.shtml Tigers are going to have a tough decision financially next season. Jobe will be out for most of the year. Flaherty has an out clause, maybe that's renegotiated. Mize is their best younger guy after Skubal. Then it's Montero and a bunch of question marks. All in...or do they look to trade Skubal R.Greene Carpenter Tork if they decide to go in another direction????? With the Central as weak as it is and CLE potentially trading Kwan, Ramirez one more year into 30s...all in.

Teel should be 15-18 hopefully

Not buying Mead as a starter at this point... Not buying a Robert trade until mid season unless the financial situation leads to a $50 - 60 million payroll, which would be 30th in mlb and lower than the .500is he and younger Marlins. Braden should be in RF...that's his natural position fit arm and speed-wise and too much pressure on a rookie to handle CF and the almost obligatory offensive struggles for anyone not named Nicole Kurtz. Have to find a viable CFer elsewhere...it can't be Dom.Fletcher. Would really have liked a vet like Laureano in our OF, but the Padres hold a cheap $6.5 million option and that was a totally out of character offensive season, just like 2024 was for Profar...hard to find a legit guy in CF for under $10 million and the only name that comes to mind is Cedric Mullins unfortunately.

No Megill though...

Sox attendance boost from WI? -
3/22 risp pathetic effort
-
Fortunate to get out of that with Peralta in the mound. He and Matsui back of pen.
-
Really think King gets the start if he had signed an extension with SD. That crap about starting G1 in the next round from Shildt not very logical.
-
Padres just don't win with Tatis and Machado not hitting. Doesnt have timing from missing three games due to illness last week. 3/20 risp as a team 1/11 Tatis
-
Greg's consistent complaint about bullpen games...not fun to watch game after game after game.
-
At least he's married to a Fletcher lol. He's got that going for him.
-
He has been so hit and miss. Had one start he gave up 6 or 7 like Imanaga did as well.. Happy to see Taillon gone.
-
Where would White Sox finish with all six of King Cease Arraez Suarez Laureano and O'Hearn signing in FA lol? 75-80 wins?
-
Suck it PCA. King just hasn't looked the same since returning from injury. Erratic control compared to earlier in the season.
