  1. Wouldn't have thought possible in a postseason game Max Fried started... Weird. Well Detroit vs. Toronto won't exactly light up the ratings.
  2. Especially when your owner doesn't believe in paying for FA pitching...you've got to be able to able to produce like CLE MIL SEA TBR.
  3. Could see Texas as favorite by 1-2 points with Hawkins, Jr. starting. Last year did not go particularly well. Different teams obviously...UP got a ton of confidence from playing MI so well defensiively.
  4. O'Hearn is coming off an All Star selection. He will get between $9-13 million probably... Definitely one grouping ahead of the Slaters Tauchmans and Josh Rojases of the FA world.
  5. You definitely can't lose the first two at home with the Mariners' playoff history...
  6. Still fooled with action...game on. Not sure going to second was worth it down 2. Pretty close due to Pages.
  7. Got out of it. Realmuto Kepler Castellanos Stott Choice of either Sasaki or Treinen.
  8. White Sox will eventually end up with Castellanos somehow...
  9. Glasnow with his in between games throwing routine...feels like Freeman makes that scoop 9/10 times.
  10. Ki-ke predictably unreal in postseason no matter what he does in the regular season.
  11. You really see them winning out? SATURDAY, OCT 11 at USC (not easy on road) 7:30pm ET | NBC/Peacock SATURDAY, OCT 18 Washington Time TBA ET | TV TBA SATURDAY, OCT 25 atMichigan State Time TBA ET | TV TBA SATURDAY, NOV 1 Purdue Time TBA ET | TV TB SATURDAY, NOV 15 at Northwestern Time TBA ET | TV TBA Buy Tickets SATURDAY, NOV 22 atMaryland (much better this year) Time TBA ET | TV TBA Buy Tickets SATURDAY, NOV 29 1Ohio State (not counting on MI magic this season) 12:00pm ET | FOX
  12. Ohtani touched up for three after being on a late season scoreless run. Have a feeling this series goes the distance. Not sure what the heck Teoscar was doing defensively in the second...seems like he just gave up on the ball and let it get past him to the wall. No way you can let Realmuto get to third there.
  13. Spending $50-60 million in FA alone for next year...??? They'll be fortunate to be at that overall payroll number for a full roster after Robert and/or Benintendi are traded. Granted, the Royals were rich enough to spend significantly more after a 56-106 record two off seasons ago. But they also already had Witt Jr.,Perez, Pasquantino, Singer and Ragans as a core.
  14. PSU/Texas/Iowa State losses really open things up.. Can't imagine anyone else but Indiana after OSU/Oregon from the B10.
  15. Texas and Arch Manning just saved Napier's job at Florida for now Oklahoma still undefeated for Red River Shootout, nut probably Hacking over Mateer at QB due to the hand surgery
  16. 0-4 UCLA might have cost Franklin the PSU job last such upset UTEP over BYU in 1985...0-4 or worse beating a Top Ten team
  17. Cubs self destructing early
  18. If anything...waiting another day gives the "hot" teams that won during the first week even more of an advantage, making the 4 bye teams wait yet another day or even day and a half in the case of the later start times. And obviously another day of rest for all their pitchers.
  19. They were avoiding Monday night football…and needed that travel off day. You also would be starting the playoffs right after the regular season ended staring Monday. Padres had to fly to Chicago. Tigers from Boston to Cleveland. Dodgers from Seattle home and the Reds from Milwaukee to LA. The best they could do is have both AL series start Monday.
  20. Joe Montana? Tim Brown? Rocket Ishmail his Heisman year?
  21. Michael Gartner Michael Gartner, chairman and principal owner of the Iowa Cubs, who had owned the team with partners since 1999. Silver Lake bought the Iowa Cubs bas… This has very little to do with the Chicago Cubs. It's all about private equity interests running 45 clubs now. It's kind of ridiculous that a player doesn't realize the clear majority of minor league teams are independently operated. The equipment stuff, player and coaching salaries are the responsibility of the Cubs, but not for the general impression McClung is pointing to. But that wouldn't lead to an interesting headline that the Chicago Cubs/Ricketts are cheapskates.
  22. There's also always an implicit media bias against teams that don't really matter in terms of national fandoms and total clicks. Cubs Yankees Dodgers Mets Red Sox prospects will always get an outsize share of attention.
  23. That's why a look of cumulatove rankings will award #1 Griffin 100 points and #100 just one...so on and so forth.
  24. Why would you put your best OF arm in left? Baldwin at first base? That’s highly unlikely. Unless you want another 65-70 win team.
  25. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/DET/2025.shtml Tigers are going to have a tough decision financially next season. Jobe will be out for most of the year. Flaherty has an out clause, maybe that's renegotiated. Mize is their best younger guy after Skubal. Then it's Montero and a bunch of question marks. All in...or do they look to trade Skubal R.Greene Carpenter Tork if they decide to go in another direction????? With the Central as weak as it is and CLE potentially trading Kwan, Ramirez one more year into 30s...all in.
