Sox now have a Big Three. Mura, Vargas and Colson.

Sox now have a Big Three, that will be putting fear into many opposing pitchers. Mura our Japanese Aaron Judge, Vargas and Colson. With Vargas humming, the Kopech trade is looking much better.

It reminds me of the Big Threes in the NBA with LeBron. There is no one else with a similar Big Three home run threat in theAL Central.

It's early you're arguing them at their height what the team needs is someone that isn't Benintendi that can be that 16-25 home run hitter he was supposed to be instead of the worst player in baseball besides Quero. There's a lot of possible slumps for Vargas, Mune and Montgomery but very little upswing of any of the players on the roster even if Teel comes back and is great or Pereiera keeps doing what he was doing. That leaves us with either bringing Braden up and he's not really ready. The real penis in our ass is the revolving door of relievers who can't stop fucking us. but we are too young of a team and it'd be futile to take that dick out of our ass this early. We're obviously in need of a power hitting outfielder that doesn't suck at fielding.

so my conclusion is to buy low on a struggling reliever which seems to be what they're doing and trade our prospects for a struggling outfielder that isn;t Hays or Benintendi because they're just no good. maybe float haden smith for arozarena since he seems to be a distraction for the uriners. overrated doesn't mean bad.

Adolis Garcia might be available and wouldn't mind him.

wait what

Interesting imagery aside, picking up guys like Bryan Hudson is a way better strategy than signing middle relievers like Kendall Graveman to multi-year deals. Use limited funds elsewhere than on players who may or may not actually contribute. Our waiver wire guys look arguably better than our well-paid closer

The Cubs did that this offseason and every single one of those guys is on the DL. They’re still winning games, but they’re a much scarier team if they consolidate the pennies they spent on various bullpen pieces into signing a position player, ie Tucker.

Start making moves like that, and we'll start a new rebuild in 2028.

Run the place like the Brewers run theirs. When they have Ishbia's money, keep running the place like the Brewers run theirs + well-considered Free Agents.

WRC+ / OPS

Vargas 135 (.841 OPS)

Colson 123 (.806 OPS)

Mune 149 (.921 OPS)

I'm still adjusting to the fact a 806 OPS is 23% better than average and probably about 40% better than avg for a SS.

Yeah I’ll wait for more than a 30 day sample size before I crown Vargas as a part of a “Big 3”.

Hopefully the swing adjustments really have turned things around, but I’ll be cautiously optimistic for now
