After a relatively successful but not entirely injury-free year out of the bullpen? Before his debut with the Sox? That would have simply provided more justification not to EVER do it, ultimately...along with the Moncada and Jimenez contracts.

Trade him to the Dodgers, or DeJong...just no way that Mookie Betts can handle SS with this little transition time and not have it affect his offense in a negative way. Flipping their double play combination at this late date is something you would expect out of the White Sox, especially when he's played something like 12 starts there his entire MLB career.

Prioritizing character at the cost of performance doesn't seem to be the greatest strategy. Maybe it's just me.

For the team to start to legitimately buy into the shift in approach...seeing a change in either individual results or team record would tend to be at least one indicator of some type of positive change. This just feels like more of what was expected...even with the rising positives on the minor league side of things.
