Sox looking at building in South Loop
You get a 3-5 year attendance burst with a new stadium, just like winning a World Series. Then it’s on the team to provide an entertaining on-field product, period.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
The one thing 35th is never going to provide is the best view of downtown and a way to incorporate a water/boat entry to the park. Just feels pointless to keep pushing for a successful project at the site connected with one of the bigger baseball stadium failures in the last 30 years or so. I'm not even sure which stadium to rank as second worst since 1990. If it's any...it's the Tropicana, which would have ended up as the cursed site of the White Sox had they actually moved there. They would already be gone from that market, too, had JR retained control of the team.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Or trying to get advantageous deals done early with the likes of Sale and Q.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Padres more likely to keep dumping with 6 $100+ million deals still on the books...depends on replacement for Seidler. Tatis would be only player in 20s then.

Cease To Padres per Passan
More like the proposed last career deal for Abreu the Sox were considering at one point before the 2022 debacle... Konerko, same thing. Although obviously nowhere close to $100 million.

Milwaukee Brewers sign Gary Sanchez to a $7M one year deal
50% of this comes down to which catcher can best maximize Cease's trade value between now and the trade deadline...along with maybe getting through to Kopech. If they felt Lee was ready at all, there wasn't any discernible reason to sign two veterans when they could have stayed with Seby or Perez instead.

Milwaukee Brewers sign Gary Sanchez to a $7M one year deal
Well the rolled there is that Stassi has missed so much time and that apparently there is a lot of work that Lee needs to do with all the other aspects of the game than throwing the ball. Him hitting in the low 100s is not doing him any favors...need to let him build some confidence up first on the offense side again.

Better yet...Jose Contreras.

Sox invite 25 to Spring Training including Danny Mendick
Still you have to give those at bats to either one of those guys over Mendick. Mendick goes to AAA...retires and joins the Sox as a coach or roving instructor, at least in some capacity.

Definitely the Bryan Shaw of this season...always gets underestimated. Excellent mentor for the younger guys. Gordon Beckham would call him the consummate professional if given the opportunity. Well he'd say he's the definition of a true pro.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Hence the ability for Baltimore to absorb the salary AND the Brewers to move that money, Adames and Williams for more prospects while getting younger and cutting payroll simultaneously.

MLB Top Predicted Team Prospects for 2026: Schultz, most wildly
Watch the Brewers run away with the Central and Ortiz and/or Chourio win RoY...Hall becomes the next Hader and they flip D.Williams, too. Still not convinced Cubs are going anywhere without either Chapman or Bellinger. A lot...probably too much...is being expected out of Counsell. 8

It was sort of a threat by association...that JR and TLR would still be connected somehow business-wise.
