The one thing here is the injuries that are almost unavoidable (regardless of the equipment) with the whole increasing speed/force/violent collisions resulting in concussions issue...or the fact that running backs have 3-4 year shelf lives now. Well, those numbers make a lot of sense if you consider that hockey and basketball teams have half as many games.
