  1. Balanced schedule. It's going to knock all the AL Central teams back 3-4 games in the standings. The East and West are loaded on both sides of the ledger. That said, in recent years we have played the Giants pretty well/tough for the most part. Maybe we needed our former catcher turned AL Rookie of the Month in April turned sandwich for inspiration?
  2. Mets most expensive team in history. Kind of doubt their fans are panicking like in Philly. Then again...East Coast/NE fan expectations and media coverage are a totally different beast.
  3. Adding to the most expensive bullpen? Then what, Martin will bail them out? You're going to be lucky to get through 2-3 months without Clevinger getting ouchy. It's baseball. But the NL West Top 3 are so much better than the AL Central Top 3.
  4. So dynamic pricing sabotaged a sellout? Or they weren't going to sell it out period without dramatic upper deck seat discounting?
  5. Caleb Martin/Norge Vera or bust. Kopech used to at least be dominant in first halves before falling apart down the stretch or getting injured.
  6. It is pretty uncanny how many times during the Hahn Era that we've had some of our biggest attendance numbers and completely wet the bed.
  7. Brewers crushing Mets 10-0 for their OD. Fire everyone, lol.

  9. Double bonus if related to the 1967 season...
  10. T.Thompson A.Engel Yolmer Zack Collins Narvaez Madrigal Ed.Escobar Semien Tatis Jr. Alex Call Avi Garcia D.Garneau Dayan Viciedo (JPN)
  11. https://www.mlb.com/news/fastest-mlb-teams-in-2023 Guardians 3rd...much better set up for a new era of baseball. KC Royals top tier as well. Seems incredible a team with Robert (even at 75-85%), Moncada, TA7, Engel, Leury, Harrison, Andrus, etc., could be THAT low in the rankings. Obviously not going all out intentionally and then the plodding nature of Vaughn, Grandal, Sheets, Seby, are a pretty big part of the story. Jimenez has been well- documented as well with his assortment of injuries and conditioning issues. Abreu always busted his butt and was surprisingly decent despite his advanced age. Oscar Colas is at the very least a slightly above average to average RFer in terms of sprint speed. Abreu, Harrison and Engel would be subtracted for their 2023 teams/projections. Benintendi added to Sox, along with Colas.
  12. Theo Epstein saving the game through series of dramatic rule changes... https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/01/opinions/mlb-theo-epstein-might-save-baseball-axelrod/index.html
  13. That was the whole point...the farm system didn't or couldn't produce reliable relievers. See the failure to fill out a roster around Sale Q Eaton Anderson Abreu from 2013-2016.
  14. Benetti must have shared a lot of Josh Harrison stories from last year doing the broadcast with AJ.
  15. Well they do have a lower payroll number than the Sox despite Sale Devers Yoshida.
  16. At least KW's philosophy was to provide the fans exciting offense...even of they finished 2nd or 3rd. See 2000 2003 2006 2008 2010 etc. Fwiw, Twins' pen has looked awesome so far..albeit against the Royals.
  17. Not until a certain someone returns from suspension. April 4th first AAA game in Cali.
  18. That's one pretty generic looking 1983 Champs crew neck giveaway.
  19. Ricketts fortunate to deal TD Ameritrade at the time he did with Charles Schwab merger going south...
