  1. Well, we have Lee with his laser arm who basically can't do anything besides throw, lol. Miguel Olivo if you really really really stretch the projections.
  2. You can't build up a young team's confidence in 2024 if they don't believe that their bullpen is capable of closing out more than 50% of the games... That said, spending millions on more veteran bullpen arms just to turn around and flip them again, not sure Chris Getz is going to go out of his way to copy Rick Hahn there in his roster construction.
  3. When's the last time the White Sox came back from 9 runs down in a game? Granted, it's against the even lowlier Royals. At home (what fans didn't give up and leave)...too.
  4. Can Remillard even play SS in terms of his arm and range? Better than Madrigal?
  5. 5.65 for Toukki now according to mlb.com 8 in 1 inning is Lucas Giolito Patriots' Day Massacre-esque Jimenez 753 vs Vaughn 747 OPS'es yuck, definition of mediocrity
  6. Might as well talk about Eva Longoria and Desperate Housewives to keep Benetti's attention...
  7. At what point does Sosa no longer become the "sure thing" for 2B next year when he can't even manage anything resembling even a 600 OPS? Same with Lee at catcher, I guess...?
  8. The new Jimmy Cordero...well, minus the checkered past.
  9. The hitters there are much more disciplined...but he'll probably be penciled into the rotation with Scholtens because they don't have any better or cheaper options. I mean...we're using a 35 year old Bryan Shaw as heavily as any pitcher in the bullpen not named Santos down the stretch.
  10. “That’s the competitiveness we need here with the White Sox,” Getz said. “I certainly want to ingrain that mindset in all our players.” “And the competition is not just going to be based on the tools that you have,” Grifol said. “It’s going to be based on the style of baseball that we want to play. We know we need to hit and we know we need to score more runs and situational hit and all of that, but we also need to play defense and we need to run bases.” Scott Merkin Am at the point already would almost rather hear the sheer predictability of Hahn speak than this crap...
  11. Carter Hawkins' school in Atlanta... "Westminster was founded by Atlanta's leaders as a learning community rooted in Christian values and wholesome intensity. Since 1951, our students have been ..."
  12. https://www.yahoo.com/news/watch-jimmy-other-big-weekend-134723375.html David Wells goes off on Nike, Bud Light, “babied and coddled” modern day ballplayers…that part could have easily have been about White Sox
  13. Yoshida has really come back down to earth, and fWAR is always going to kill him for his defense in front of the Green Monster... 0.7 fWAR, 803 OPS Benintendi 0.3 fWAR, 700 OPS Seiya Suzuki 2.6 fWAR, 812 OPS
  14. Mariners have lost 4 in a row. George Kirby controversy. It's now or never for Kelenic.
  15. The KW led to the only WS win since 1917, but apparently only Chris Getz of all people has figured out how to develop a championship-caliber team during those forty-two years or whatever. If they're all playing the game the right way, shouldn't there be a clear indicator of results...even if it's not strictly measured by wins and losses at the minor league level?
  16. Went to Cal Berkeley. Maybe those Stanford guys thought he could figure everything out on his own. Crazy that he basically got pushed out in 2014 in favor of giving playing time to Gordon Beckham, Alexei Ramirez and Conor Gillaspie. Ugh....
  17. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/james-mccann/12859/stats?position=C Up to a 0.7 fwar with the Os now. That's like a star for the war-deprived Sox.
  18. Utah isnt going anywhere without Rising. They easily could have lost this past weekend. Would expect more out of Washington or Oregon.
  19. Well with Bama down...along with Clemson, might be time for a return to FSU and Miami. Not sure if anyone looks poised to break up that SEC monopoly...certainly not a B10 team. The media will continue to play up Colorado until/unless they've lost to Oregon Wash USC.
  20. Good weekend to choose with all the focus on football...Sox/Detroit must have been the very last option for anyone paying any attention to the sports landscape.
  21. Kirk Herbstreit only successful OSU QB post college years...
  22. Almost fear sorrier for Bears' fans to deal with almost boundless optimism for months and months and now this. Sox fans by and large were pretty realistic having them at mired in mediocrity instead of 33 games below .500 and mired in misery instead. Plus there's always dreams of 1-1 draft picks to sustain one's interest in football. Don't even have that now.
  23. If he's not able to handle High A by the end of next season...
