  1. Just like Harrison or Leury... Anytime Buxton's not in the lineup is victory for the Sox.
  2. https://sports.yahoo.com/report-suggests-cubs-could-sleeper-153526148.html
  3. Definitely not moving to El Paso or San Antonio...that's taking fandom a bit too far, even for #23 in mustard and brown.
  4. Velocity back to 95-97, touching 98
  5. Except the M's blew that game to CLE...thanks largely to Matt Brash. .286/726 ops
  6. With the new balanced schedule...84-85 wins might get it done. Can no longer beat up the Tigers like 2020-21. Until the Sox prove they can consistently beat the Twins and Guardians and utilize home field advantage...they're going to be stuck around .500. Absolutely no insurance for injuries in that pen and one serviceable minor league starter in Martin.
  7. Not exactly a Norman vs. Faldo choke or Rory fade but Koepka fell victim to a big lead and could never put his game back together on Sunday. Tiger withdrawal not shocking considering how much he was laboring to grind it out.
  8. 2005 Astros were close...maybe 14 under.
  9. That division. Almost feel sorry for the Red Sox. Almost.
  10. Did we include leftover international bonus money again? Unheralded Dominican League prospects?
  11. Sure, but those players are hardly win-now guarantees. There really weren't many on the market...after the very top tier, names like Wong Drury Profar Frazier were far from slam dunks. But one week does not a season make.

  14. https://www.yahoo.com/news/mlb-files-emergency-motion-could-155030526.html Bally is hearing now that 2-3 teams being left out to dry will be attacked by MLB as an invalidation on all the Bally deals collectively and essentially leave nearly 1/2 the MLB streaming rights within their potential grasp of Manfred's claws.
  15. He doesn't have the perfect arm or accuracy...but pretty darned close. When firing on all guns, Robert is right up there with Acuna Jr., Tatis, Chisholm, Corbin Carroll, Betts, Trout/Ohtani and Julio Rodriguez in terms of all the "loudest tools" players.
  16. With Bellinger gone, Turner gone, Taylor on downside of his career and Lux out, they really had no choice but to go with some younger players...assuming they were also saving as many bullets as possible to make a run at Ohtani or Reynolds. The big key with all these rookies is seeing where they are at the 54 game mark after the league has made adjustments. J Heyward just hit a bomb lol. Vargas has been solid up the middle too.
  17. Hard to blame Katz. Watched Clevinger and Manaea a lot last year and both were largely unreliable. Kopech and Giolito both can't seem to get out of their own heads...and are messes physically/mechanically as well.
  18. Felt kind of inevitable after scoring only one in that situation. Crowd counting down along with pitch clock lol...that was predictable as well.
  19. Who's the first one out of the bullpen? Clevinger hanging on by a thread to be positioned for a W.
  20. Is Mena really the best pitching prospect now? Or Thompson? Dalhquist was the other name that name that always got mentioned. Then you have our somewhat unorthodox 1st round draft pick from 2022, Schulz.
  21. Andrus now at .152 and stuck in quicksand...Moncada coming back down to earth now.
  22. Cardinals' SS now pitching? Dutch national team guy? Luis Robert continuing to pick up the pace on both sides of the ball...
