I want nothing to do with Kenny Lofton ever again. This is the same guy who was traded to the Giants last year, and then came out and said that "he was glad to finally be playing for a team with a pulse" and that "he became disinterested and bored" when he was with the Sox. The part about the Sox having no pulse may be true - but still. No more loafers on this team.

My biggest gripe is that, yes, he doesn't have a ton of errors, but that's because he has minimal RANGE as an outfielder. A ton of balls drop in front of him because he plays so far back. Plus, I can remember 5 or 6 times this season he botched a fly ball - whether he dropped it or just let it go over his head. He could have 12 errors right now. Plus, as some of you stated earlier, he screwed up and gave the Cubs a gift run. I also can't stand the way he tries to pull everything. Can he at least AIM for the right side of the field? I just think that he's reached his ceiling - he averages about 20 HR and 70 RBI a year. That's fine if the rest of the team is killing the ball - but they're not. I'm one of those people who wants a GREAT left fielder, not an ADEQUATE one. Always look to upgrade - that's what winners do. And yes, he leads the team in RBI's. Mostly thanks to two good weeks he had in what - 11 weeks of the season? The only "clutch" associated with Carlos Lee is the one on his motorcycle.
-
He can't run, he can't field, he can't throw, and he can't do anything but hit into double plays. He is a piece of crap who pads his stats with 5 great weeks out of 25. I would trade him for a bag of toenails at this point. Loser.

What blows my mind is when Manuel The Moron sticks Rowand in left field for "defensive purposes." WHAT? If Carlos Lee wins the "Iron Glove" award, then Rowand should win the "Cement Glove" award. At least Lee has played in LF for his career - Rowand hasn't. Rowand scares me ANYTIME he's in the outfield. He sucks as a defensive player. And he sucks as an offensive player as well. He's not part of the future - sorry folks, but he's not. He's mediocre at best - and I'm being nice when I say that.
-
Danny Wright's pitching - forget about winning 3 of 4. That guy has a fastball that's flatter than the surface of the Hoover Dam. He'll get shelled in the first 2 innings - you heard it here first. Wright sucks. He's Garland Lite. And that's not saying much, now is it?
-
Rowand was on a Chicago radio station yesterday, and in the interview, he said that Greg Walker had found a glitch in his swing, and Rowand also said that he was swinging as good as he ever has. We'll never find out unless he plays.
-
Konerko had some kind of injury at the end of the season last year - I wonder if it's STILL bothering him. It must be, looking at his numbers this year. Another possibility is that his offseason weight program might have "wound him up" too tightly and affected his swing. Ron Gant was a great player for 3 years, then he went on a weight training program and turned to crap. He wound himself up too tightly, or so he says.
-
Greg, Kenny has tried - he really has. But nothing he does seems to work. However, he should have known that this might had happened. If you look at the lineup, it's chock full of the same kind of hitter - upper-cut power hitters who have the speed of tipped-over pickup trucks. There is no speed in the lineup except for Jimenez, and his speed is worthless since he runs the bases worse than anyone I've ever seen. The Sox need more speed in the lineup. I would like to see Miles play 2B next year, unless Kenny can dump a ton of salary and maybe sign someone like Luis Castillo. This station to station crap isn't working. And Manuel isn't a moron, but some of his managerial moves make you pull your hair out.

Give it time, my friend. Give it time.

The only color that Jerry Reinsdork worries about is the color of MONEY. All he cares about is money. Reinsdork once had the nerve and balls to say that "I would give up the 6 Bulls championship rings for one World Series ring." What a crock. You won't win a World Series with Dumb and Dumber as your manager and general manager. Jerry, I will not attend another Sox game EVER until you fire Manuel and Williams. And one last thing - :fyou :finger
-
I've got a perfect motto for the Sox: "We win twice a week whether we need to or not." Or how about: "We may be underachievers, but we're making more money than you!"

Mark Buehrle will rebound next year. Notice I said NEXT YEAR. This year, he will suck ass. It's that simple. All players, minus a few gems, will have a bad year. It's too bad that Buehrle decide to have his THIS YEAR. However, he will rebound. He's not the total problem - but he's part of it. I had this team penciled in to win 96 games. Thank God that pencils have erasers! This team has disappointed me more than the 1984 team. That's saying a lot.

It's official. According to a Cook County judge, Jerry Manuel has legally changed his name to Jerry Manuellllllllllllllllll. How fitting.

But, hindsight is killing us. Too many opposing players are living off of hindsight. I'm ready to cash it in. I know I should never do that, but s*** -I'm 32 now, and I've been suffering for 24 years now. I have to teach 2nd graders, and realistic thinking is something I have to be a part of. I am at the end of my rope, but I keep holding on to hope. I have no more optimism. Why should I? We were up 4-2 in the 9th against the best team in the National League, and we blew it. If Las Vegas tramps could blow clients like the Sox blow leads - they would retire as millionaires.
-
I think that the league has finally figured out Mark Buehrle. According to the Blue Jays hitting coach two weeks ago - "You know he'll throw a first-pitch fastball. If you are a hitter, you take a shot at it. If not, then he'll throw you offspeed stuff the rest of your at bat. He's very easy to figure out." Anyone who listened to the J-Hood show on the Score 670 AM in Chicago would have heard the same things I heard. I wrote them down because I was shocked that any hitting coach would admit his strategy.

If you walk Bonds, you have a chance with the double play, or you have a chance at the other guys swinging too hard to do something. I would NEVER pitch to Bonds in that situation. And neither would 90% of major league managers - that's why he leads the league in walks every year. Colon had struck him out 3 straight times - Bonds obviously had figured out Colon's repitoire - he waited for the pitch he thought would come and he hammered it. He's not a Top Ten Player Of All Time for nothing.
-
After seeing Bartolo Castillo, er, I mean Colon tonight, I think that if he was a god, all you would have to do is sacrifice a few racks of lamb or 10 cheeseburgers , and he would give you whatever you wanted! Boy is he one fat dude. But as long as he wins games, I could care less if he was 1/4 of a ton.
-
I don't care if Colon was throwing 107 mph - Barry Bonds should have been walked. He's not one of the best players of all time for no reason. Once again, Manuel shows that he is one stupid motherf*cker. He's becoming stale - someone should change his formaldehyde supply. It's losing its potency.
-
He'll finish at 10-17.

The Yankees were no-hit for many reasons. 1. They faced 6 pitchers they never saw before. 2. They are struggling, and much like Sox hitters, everyone is trying to hit a 5-run homer and pressing. 3. They hack at everything, and no one on that team has any plate discipline.

CW, My sister lives in Boston, and my aunt and uncle live in the Bronx. I've been to 4 Red Sox games in the last decade, and 3 Yankees games as well. I also go to about 10 White Sox games a year. Believe me, fans in Chicago are just as vocal and just as loud. Not as obnoxious or vulgar, but just as mean and nasty. Winning cures all. If the Sox were in first place, no one would give a crap about the comments last night. I just think that the Sox fans have reached a boiling point, and Buehrle's comments popped the top off of the pressure cooker. He's not the whole problem, but his 10 losses are one of the problems. I only hope that MB can finish the season like John Smoltz did in 1991. He started out 2-10, and finished the year 14-12.
-
I'm sure Kenny has already talked with MB this morning. If I were Kenny, I would ask him one simple question: DO YOU WANT TO BE HERE? If he is sincere and wants to stay, then he's Sox property for another 4 years. If he doesn't want to be here, Kenny will trade him somewhere after the season - if not during the season. We already know Colon is gonzo after the season ends - if we lose Colon and Buehrle, then our pitching staff is completely f#cked. The thought of having Loaiza as our #1 and Garland as our #2 makes me feel like puking on my desk.
-
Ouch. The whole "St. Louis" thing, not signing the contract extension, and now comments in a post-game interview. Run support or not, Buehrle sure isn't endearing himself to the fans. One thing players should remember about Chicago and New York fans - you piss them off and they will ride you like a racehorse. If he thought the booing was bad yesterday, just wait until he pitches against Boston on Monday.
-
According to Camden Yards security, the guy who ran on the field was Sammy's cork supplier and he was just trying to give him the stuff that was on backorder.
-
Brandofan, Don't forget about the Twins. As much as I loathe those jackoffs, they keep coming up with good young players. Speaking of - they have some "hot prospect" in the minors who's close to being ready to play 1B for them. They will probably look to move Doug Mienkiewiecz - I hate the guy and want him dusted every time he faces us, but he would look good on the Sox.
