  1. Why Slayer couldn't have number 6.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) It is amazing how many people really think the Sox would have a .350 team batting average and score 12 runs a game if they had a different hitting coach. They need to look at the players. That's on KW. Agreed 100% Unfortunately many hitting / pitching coaches lose their jobs, due to the failures of the general manager
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Fields was a strikeout machine in the minor leagues. You only think he's a star because he hit more homers than he ever had before in the majors in 2007. He's not that good. And Willie Harris, .262,.256 with the Sox in a limited role. .176,.270,.251,.259 since. Wow, getting out of Walker's grasp has allowed him to take off. I'm starting to learn how Chris Rongey feels after a loss
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) We could make quite the killing selling off our bullpen. Yeah, we'd trade for more Wes Whislers, Sean Tracys, etc.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) Why shouldn’t he take blame for two great minor leaguers failing to carry their success into the majors? Didn’t you just argue that he deserves credit for Q and Konerko? Hell no, I didn't argue it was his due that Q and Konerko are good hitters, I was saying Quentin had primo-talent before coming here, I never said anything about Konerko Hitting coaches, I don't care which team they're coaching for, don't turn .240 hitters into .280 or .290 hitters If a guy is a bad hitter, and the fans (you) are expecting Walker to turn him into a good hitter, it's not going to happen, it's not happening on ANY baseball team for that matter
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) My argument is that these kids had and have promise that was never fulfilled at the Major League Level. These guys were great Minor League players who failed to carry sustained success into their major leaguer performance. While you can blame a large part of that on mindset, are you going to tell me that the hitting coach escapes all blame? He doesn't hold enough blame to lose his job because minor league "Studs" Brian Anderson and Josh Fields, can't get it done at the big league level How many teams do you think would trade for Brian or Josh? Yeah
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) Who was the hitting coach? The arguement you made is that BA and Fields never had any talent. That's B.S, they just haven't realized it when they got to the Majors. My arguement is that BA and Fields don't have major league talent above a .230 or .240 batting average and an OPS over .700 Is that what you'd accept as OK? Then stop head-hunting for Greg Walker, because these two kids just aren't very smart to begin with
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) You wanna tell me that the first thing you thought when you saw Field and Ba's minor league numbers was that these two kids were going to be busts at the Major League level? Because nobody who had good numbers in the minor leagues has come up to the big leagues and not succeeded.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) He shouldn't, he stinks. Beckham 2B Lexi SS Pods CF Fields 3B for the rest of the year, just leave it alone anyone else with me?
  10. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) It really makes me laugh that the only argument in defending Walker is that Cooper should be getting just as much s***, rofl. Then read mine
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:38 PM) I never once blamed Walker for the failures of Wise and Lillibridge, and anyone who did is an idiot. Both of those guys were clearly not Major League talent. Anderson is? Fields is? Getz is? Why is it so hard to fathom that the reason our young players suck this year is because wait They're not good enough? What can walker do with s***?
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:34 PM) Coop's shown he has the ability to make people better from his teachings. Who other then Q has shown a marked improvement under Walk? Nobody can prove one way or another that Quentin's resurgence was because of Walker
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) Why is Cooper not getting any crap for Colon giving up all of these home runs? There are a lot of people on this board that make no sense. If the Sox offense is bad, its on the hitting coach. If they give up 6 runs in 5 innings, the pitching coach has nothing to do with it. I'm with you DA, ultimately these guys are hitting the way they are because of the types of hitters they are, and probably a bit of anxiety and doing too much at the plate. Intangible problems that a hitting coach has no remedy for I'm all for Williams stepping down, however, as the players who are on the ML roster (outside of Beckham, who was a can't miss for whichever team grabbed him) are HIS players and scouted by HIS scouts
  14. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:32 PM) Anyone know the last time the Sox didn't have a hitter with 100 RBIs? 2007 we didn't
  15. Jermaine's swing is about the slowest I've seen it in ... well as long as I can remember Can the 2 days off really do that?
  16. Tribe BP warming up, sweet. Guys we've faced before.
  17. nice swing alexei, you saw that coming
  18. White Sox fans I don't think are capable of handling the possibility of Beckham being a bust, I mean can you just imagine..
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) I think Buehrle will win, but the rest, who knows. Which would give us a 3-9 homestand, hahahaha. I see Gavin having a better performance than Mark
  20. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) KW is probably livid, but really has no one to blame but himself. ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) Over/under should have a .5 in it... as in, the over/ under is 2.5 runs. That's if you're trying to say Cleveland will score more than 2. you're right 2.5 would've been what I was trying to say
  22. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) Dude, this is probably one of the worst teams of the passed decade. at least 2007 had the injury excuse though we're missing out on TCQ, i doubt he'd make that huge of a difference at this point
  23. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) You are halfway there Over halfway now
  24. Colon back on the bump, O/U on runs the tribe puts up this inning 2 I'm taking the over
