  1. If the owners were like f*** it, the NFL is done EVERY owner would go off and still be a millionaire/billionaire.. the majority of the players from the NFL would be screwed I still don't see why they think they can make any demands here
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 03:28 AM) Of course, that is always going to be the case. If there is a side that has deserved some sympathy in this, it's the players. Nate Jackson wrote a great piece for Deadspin today, obviously from a player's perspective so it's biased, but it's very much worth a read. The players don't deserve anything, they are EMPLOYEES and wouldn't even be making s*** if it weren't for the billionaires that own the teams they are employed too.. Unless it was total BS, the reported offer from the owners sounded more than fair
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 03:25 AM) That was extremely clutch defense. Those two plays were pretty much the equivalent of hitting a game winning 2 run homer. Lillibridge could do that too.. im about to order my BL18 jersey, but I don't know if I want the black one or the home whites
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 11:35 PM) Roger Goodell wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal blowing s*** way out of proportion, distorting, and bulls***ting. Literally everything he wrote was bulls***. The parts I found particularly amusing: it was the OWNERS that didn't like the status quo, the players were cool with it, but he's pinning the whole thing on the players like they want a radical overhaul of the system - and, he talks about the union lawyers like they're some sinister bad guys cynically out for personal gain. Ummm as if the NFL doesn't have a god damn army of its own lawyers. Nicely done, Goodell, you have surpassed Bud Selig for s***tiness in a league commisisoner The players and the owners are both assholes They BOTH want more money, they BOTH dont care about the fans.. hopefully we just get football this fall
  5. Ouch Thats some pretty s***ty news if true
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:19 AM) Great, but you have to admit all managers play for the tie in that situation. You bunt like the Yankees did. Youre gonna have to let it go greg, everyone on this site thinks theyre a f***ing manager
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 02:42 PM) Best case scenerio is 1 win in this 4 game set. oh ye of little faith
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:36 AM) To you folks who called Lillibridge (sp) worthless ... he proved tonight he's not worthless. He single-handedly saved that game. and to you folks who said we would get swept or lose 3/4 (greg im talking to you) its time to man up and bow down to lillibridge
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) I have both systems, and prefer the ps3 95% of the time, but one of the biggest advantages of the 360 is the party mode/multiplayer system. It's not even a close race. How Sony has gone 5+ years without addressing their voice chat system is a move I'll never understand. What sucks about this hack is that my wife and I have been unable to watch most of our television shows. We swore off cable and rely on the PSN to purchase the shows we want to watch. Not being able to do that for nearly a week has been pretty difficult. not just the biggest, THE biggest and only important advantage.. I use the system for gaming more than prolly all of you combined from what I can gather here.. and playing with my friends/family members online and being able to be in that party and not deal with assholes is huge.. If I only played some games, wasnt huge into multiplayer, and just wanted to watch movies and shows I would prolly have a PS3 instead..
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) I think Steve is about to pull out his +7 magic sword and stab TRU Im wearing my invisibility cloak
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) No, I don't think that's ridiculous. When did you get your 360? Anyway, I had a 360. I got a PS3 because it's vastly superior in every way for my needs, and we need not get into this little battle. Clearly, we are both happy with our systems. I got the brand new 360 with the wifi and the 250 GB hard drive about a week after it came out, it was $299 How much were PS3's 4 years ago? Still $500?
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:10 PM) Weren't the PS3 servers for Black Ops terrible for months as well, while the 360 was humming along? You would have to ask HAMBURGER FRIES as I do not know whats goin on with PS3 unless I hear it from him
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) You started it. Yeah because its a fun discussion
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:10 PM) $50 for 5 years = $250, I could almost buy an Xbox 360 for that amount of money. In my entire time using PS3 Ive experienced maybe 5 issues with online. 5 issues or $250, Ill take PS3 for $250 Alex. (edit) Different people use their machines for different things. If I was a hardcore online gamer, maybe superior service means something. But since the days of me being competitive online are long gone, I just want a free service that I can have fun with. really, you're projecting out 5 YEARS?.. I think even Steve is gonna have to agree that's a little ridiculous
  15. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) Its $4.17 a month actually, you rich oil tycoon texan you.... haha, i know man
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 11:55 AM) Congratulations, the $50 you spend annually makes up for the one slip up the PSN has ever had. Why? Because who needs money! Yes!! I knew I could count on Steve to make a post about how spending $5 a month for a superior service is teh dumbz!! Quick, someone else make a post about how service upgrades for a 20-24 hour window is the same as getting hacked by people you've pissed off and shut down for a week plus... oh nevermind, some fool already took care of that!!
  17. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 09:11 AM) How about that PSN? Sheesh... Ugh, I hate when XBOX live goes out.. oh wait, that doesn't happen
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 11:59 PM) Cena to Smackdown for 2 hours then drafted back to Raw absolutely pointless, real letdown all the way around! oh GOD DAMMIT I stopped watching after Cena was drafted to Smackdown because I had been wishing for that for YEARS!!!!!
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) Overreactions? We are a half game of out being in 30th out of 30 MLB teams. Thank you for proving my point.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 01:01 AM) Man if he pulls that off after this start ... Man really? he has a whole 55 ABs in 15 games.. come on people.. hes gonna get like 500 more ABs this season The guy hits .240-.250 you're gonna have to accept that, the avg is going to be low.. but he hasn't hit less than 38 HR's since 2003 so statistically the odds are he is going to hit anywhere between 35-40 HRs by the time this season is over..
  22. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) You can't see the correlation between the two? No, not really.. 80% of the posts/threads in Pale Hose Talk are irrational overreactions.. That's not "good" discussion nor makes this site any better You said this site would have tumbleweeds in it if they were still awful in July, I look at that more like all those irrational people aren't going to be around much which, hence, leads to better discussion..
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) Rebuilding is a careful what you wish for deal. Believe me, if the Cubs had a good team and the Sox were losing 95 games but getting high draft picks, everyone who wants a total rebuild right now would be very unhappy. Losing is depressing and really sucks. I totally agree with where you predict attendance to fall if the Sox ever chose this route. I don't think they will, at least I hope they don't under the current regime, because they aren't the people who can get it done. There are very few who could get it done, and even fewer who could get it done quickly. You have to obviously know what you are drafting. Know what you are getting in trades and really get unbelievably lucky. I am almost certain that there would be PLENTY of posters on this site who would be very happy if this team was losing 95 games a season as long as they had some hott spects to drool over.. at least that how it seems
  24. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) There will be tumbleweeds blowing through this site come July. So? I don't care about this site, I care about whats on the field.. This is just a great place (most of the time) to talk about the Sox, but some people make it unbearable.. Maybe those will be the ones who are gone! If they are done then they can dismantle or do whatever in July.. I still don't know why people want people fired right now and people traded/released whatever in fn April.. there are a LOT of things that can happen, and if they are still a failure come late June-July, then yeah I expect changes to be made.. but until then they deserve a chance to right the ship with the "All-In" mentality that went into this year..
  25. Ide wait till July like a normal person..
