QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) WTF? Um, they are ranked #3 and are actually FAVORED in the game. On the road, mind you. You sure about that? I could have sworn that Va Tech was favored.. -
They are still getting paid when holding out.. they get fined out the ass though.. Revis had something like $600,000 in fines after he ended his holdout.. Albert Haynesworth cashed a $21 million dollar check when he was a camp no show..

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) And yes, I'd absolutely love to see these guys in the title game, they wouldn't and shouldn't be favored in that game but there's just no way in hell that they get blown out by any team in the country, it's just not happening. You're ridiculous. They would get demolished by Alabama or Ohio State this season. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) I love how people continue to say this about Boise, and Boise just keeps going out there and beating top 10 teams. How much more do they have to do? I really hope Boise makes the Championship game so they can get murdered by Ohio State and hopefully shut up all of the playoff backers.. Yeah, Boise can beat a Paul Thompson Oklahoma led team.. and they can beat a TCU team which is pretty much the same level as them when the BCS had the perfect opportunity to put them against a big time program.. and of course win a mistake filled game by Va Tech.. but does anyone honestly think they could have beaten Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, or Florida last season? I sure don't. Do you think they would be able to beat Alabama or Ohio State this year? Not from what I saw from them tonight.. So sure, Boise State may be able to take advantage over mistakes from a first round team in a playoff but there is no way a team like Boise, or TCU, or Utah would EVER be able to run a gauntlet to win a championship in a playoff system.. at least in the current system they have a chance to play for a title because that wouldn't happen in a playoff.. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 01:40 AM) I consider the Central lost. It's WC or bust, baby. Go Sox for the WC. lol, how is a 3.5 game deficit a lost cause but the 6 game wild card deficit chasing the 2nd best team in the American League a much more realistic possibility?

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) Don't think he's had many chance for RBI . Seems like he's lead off an inning at least 3 or 4 AB's or with no one on quite a few times. thats because Konerko has been knocking in what was on base so when Manny gets up there is nothing.. Manny hitting 3rd with Pierre and Vizquel in front of him would be wonderful especially with Konerko still to come up after.. I hope we at least get to see it a few times

Twins: 35-19 vs the AL Central Sox: 28-29 vs the AL Central Its a shame that that's whats killing us right now.. but the series against Minnesota is more than likely going to be the division and im feeling good about it..
-
QUOTE (rafacosta @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) has he had an oppo to hit with men on scoring position? I don't even think so, that's why its ridiculous to bat him 5th when he is constantly on base
-
I dont get how anyone was against getting Manny.. the dude just hits
-
QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) But man, that chick naked on the bed in the opening scene was absolutely unbelievable. uh yeah, i claimed that it was the best movie i had ever seen when that scene happened

I just looked over the TNA PPV results and its laughable that Tommy Dreamer and Sabu are like big parts.. what are they doing haha

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 10:02 AM) I want to see Machete but have to be in the right mood for gratuitous violence. Probably will go see The Other Guys today. it really wasn't gratuitous violence throughout like you might think.. but man there was a lot of funny stuff in it..

Martinez was a very weak 0-3 vs MB in the game up until that point.. is it really Ozzies fault that on a 3-1 count MB hung one? I get that Martinez has been great against lefties this season but MB was pitching a pretty good game and had been handling Martinez all day.. And while I can understand some frustrations with Ozzie he still has 2 division titles, a world series, and in contention for a third division title.. and considering our success (or lack there of) before Ozzie took over I don't get all the pro fire Ozzie people we have here.. Where does Ozzie get credit? He has to be doing something right, but it seems that he never does anything right according to the majority of the board..

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 02:42 AM) I can NOT wait to see that. Been waiting forever it seems. yes it was funny and violent.. very enjoyable

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) Michael Blanke. Ima predict that kid will be our best catching prospect next season. (no matter what happens to Flowers and I know a couple here love Miguel Gonzalez, as do I. Just a hunch..) Blanke is my favorite player in our minors right now

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 07:10 AM) ''When I asked him how he felt, he didn't give the right answers,'' manager Ozzie Guillen said of his decision to give Ramirez a day to get acclimated. Yep, he's fired up and can't wait to jump into a pennant race. Yeah but it could have been as simple as "Well im a little tired but I could play"

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) welcome to phase 1. im proud of myself, I am usually the type of person who makes excuses to get out of doing stuff but im not doing it with this.. Sunday night the AC broke in our house, and I live in Texas so that made it about 93 degrees IN the house.. well monday morning I still did day 1 and sweated my ass off.. day 2 came, AC still broke and I was really trying to convince myself that I could skip it but I didn't, I went down and did the plyometrics and sweated my ass off again.. AC got fixed, but today I am sore as hell everywhere and again tried to convince myself I could skip but I still went and did day 3 again.. usually, I would have said ill skip today, which would turn into skip tomorrow and eventually stop doing it, but im not doing it and im glad about that.. Also, Monday night after day 1 we went out to eat.. I had salad and water which was about the hardest thing ive ever done.. I havent had anything but water and myoplex since I started and I plan to keep that up, which is tough considering how much soda I use to drink.. while I am sore as hell, I feel great about it and know I can keep up with this..

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) Not really. But his batting AVG is so ridiculous and the fact that he plays CF will help his case. I would say Paulie has a good shot at finishing 2nd or 3rd. Unfortunately, that doesn't get you anything but a massive contract from a team like the Red Sox. his batting avg is only what, 20 points higher than Konerkos? that's not that big of a difference if you are considering Hamiltons to be ridiculous.. Anyways, that's why I said a shot at it if he finishes strong which would require him to prolly hit 40 HRs, drive in 125+ and keep that avg in the .320 range.. and of course, we make the playoffs.. either way, hes having a pretty damn good year that I think is going unnoticed by most everyone who isnt a part of this board..
-
s*** I think he has a shot at AL MVP if he finishes strong and we make the playoffs

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 03:03 AM) jaysonst Here's what #WhiteSox would get stuck with if #Dodgers dump Manny's contract on them tomorrow: $3,825,136 and 61 cents! Keep the change! with the season Konerko is having, picturing Manny on base for him 40% of his at bats gives me half a chub.. also when you consider how good Pierre has been now, this really is a huge addition for us..

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 01:44 AM) Now the "weird" year continues. If we really are paying Manny 4 mill, why didn't we just sign some good free agent in the offseason? Weird weird. what good free agent are you planning on getting for 4 million? Damon? He was double that.. Thome? He cant be counted on to be a full time player.. If we sign Manny and win the division, we essentially made our good free agent signing in late August and that 4.3 million is going to be considerably cheaper than any good free agent you would be signing on the open market, in the offseason.. If we don't win? Well we could have spent 7-8 million on Johnny Damon and his .270 no power bat.. do you really think we would be in first right now if Damon was on this team? I don't..

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 02:47 AM) Lead the team to the pennant, Manny, and earn your ridiculous salary. His stats this year have not been good. Yes, earn your ridiculous 4 million dollars.. and I agree on his stats, why the hell would we want to add a guy hitting over .300 with a .900+ OPS? Hes only played in 65 games, so if you wanna compare those 65 games to his 162 game averages then sure.. his numbers are garbage..
