  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Espn's John Clayton reported last night on SportsCenter that the Patriots will likely franchise K Adam Vinatieri. Kind of odd franchising a kicker but he is a Hall of Famer. if they have no one else that they cant sign or worried about losing its not as odd as it sounds Patriots dont have a ton of must keep guys in FA this year, so it wouldnt be too strange
  2. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) I only got to see the last half and if MOS says he wasnt nervous, then hes bandwagon. Hell, I was nervous and I hate both teams. Bandwagon?? that doesnt even make any sense, I didnt just "jump" onto Illinois Ive been an illinois fan forever Krush, dont f***ing tell me what I know and dont know.. You can sit there and be worried all you want but I knew we were gonna pull it out, so just shut up.. saying I dont know jacks*** because I wasnt worried is f***ing stupid The whole time I said "just watch well pull it together and win it" said that from the whole second half on.. If you wanna sit there and tell me I dont know s*** because I wasnt being a little b**** and worrying and sweating it out like you, you can keep that to yourself.. Sorry Krush, I dont get worried down 8 with 15 f***ing minutes left in the game
  3. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) About the money, IMO. I think this sucks. Why would you want to leave USC? Doesn't make sense to me. Why wouldnt you wanna leave USC? its the NFL, you've already won 2 National Titles.. you've already been said to be the best game planner in the NCAA.. Whats the point of staying at USC, hes got nothing else to prove.. Not only will he get paid more, he can now try to win a Super Bowl.. and if he is as great as they make it seem, hes got a good shot.. With Steve McNair prolly hanging it up soon hell get to put his QB skills into a young kid when the time comes, plus he is running the offense.. When you have done all that there is to do at one level, its time to move to the next
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) I honestly believe you are identifing symptoms and not the root cause there. WHY did their shooting go cold? They couldn't get into anykind of a rythm on offense because Michigan juiced the shot clock everytime they got the ball. They forced the Illini to play defense for 25-30 seconds everytime, which anyone will tell you is much harder than running offense. After a while it tires you out and takes your legs out from under your jumpshot if you aren't concentrating harder on O. It can also change the pace of the game in your mind and makes you want to run up the floor and rush shots you wouldn't usually take. I think the Illini have been a victim of the first part of that their last two games. Ill agree with that somewhat as well.. but I still think it had more to do with the defense and the fact that our shooting went ice cold.. an 11 minute drought is quite some time without a basket, Ide think its more along the lines of bad shots and tough defense then it is their legs being tired and lack of concentration... but after reading what you just posted I do see what you mean and agree that it prolly did play a part in it as well as these other factors..
  5. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) MOS, you haven't seen enough bball games then if you weren't nervous...you would have said the same thing against Purdue last year And our 3 point shooting? It wasn't there. So don't say that we are down 8 can can cut that quickly. Head finally hit some, but nothing was dropping. About the gameplan against us... Ive seen plenty of games, and I have watched every game possible this year.. I dont live in Illinois so I cant see every game, I cant go to any games.. All I can do is watch if its on TV and watch the ole CBSSportsline game cast when its not.. You dont have to hate on me because I said I wasnt nervous... You think some scrub team like Michigan is going to beat us? please.. Also I made a mistake, we trailed by 8 with 15 mins left in the game, not 10.. 8 was as large as it got, if your worried about 8 pts with 15 mins to go.. you need to chill the f*** out I had to tell my boy Willie to chill out at least 7 times last night, were #1 and undefeated for a reason.. I seriously doubt they are going to lose to a scrub team, we play too good.. Yeah the 3pt shooting wasnt there, but neither was anything else till Dee got things going with the steals.. thats doesnt mean that we couldnt hit 2 3's in 2 straight poss. we did it earlier in the game, we arent gonna stay cold forever as it showed last night.. Im not gonna be worried about anything till were down by double digits with less than 8 mins left.. other than that, nothing is safe for another team against us.. You saw how fast Dee alone scored 7 points, you cant get all worked up and worried if you want to.. but I wont, because I know they will pull it out
  6. haha holy s*** thats like the funniest thing ive ever seen... man thats great and I also agree with these guys, Flintstones suckass
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) I bet Seattle franchises Alexander, and than we can go after the LT Jones!!! Its more likely Jones or Hasselbeck get franchised.. You can get RB's anywhere, but perrenial pro bowl LT's and Franchise QB's do not grow on trees.. I think Alexander is the odd man out, and the Seahawks grab a RB with their first pick my bold prediction is it will be Ciatric Fason
  8. Nope. I was talking to WHarris1 over AIM and he was like "You're not worried at all?" and I was like nope.. seen this before, we will come back and win.. Honestly I saw no reason to be worried last night.. The most we got down by was 8 and that was with like 10 mins left in the game.. With our speed on D and our 3 pt shooting that lead can get cut to 2 in less than a minute.. I dont get worried because I know our team doesnt fold down the stretch, thats when they turn it up.. If we didnt have an 11 minute drought that score prolly woulda been something like 70 - 51, so I mean.. Im not gonna get all worked up when I have now seen them overcome Purdue, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan after things started looking shakey.. Of course Ill be like "s***, we better pick it up" but I mean im not sweating bullets.. Plus it gives me all the more reason to go insane when Dee f***ing Brown gets 3 steals in 3 possesions and then makes the sickest behind the back pass I have ever seen in my life.. I dont agree with that.. Illinois jumped out to HUGE leads against both of them and then their shooting went ice cold.. The thing that jumped out to me the most was when they started using the Zone defense.. I dont think it was Michigan making the game boring last night holding the ball till 5 on the shot clock.. man that was annoying.. Anyways, I dont think holding the ball and using the shot clock caused Illinois to go on an 11 minute scoring drought.. I think the zone D was the main factor, we were working it around trying to get a shot and then ended up chucking up a 3 as SC ran down.. thats why we were like 7 - 23 from 3pt

  11. Dee Brown is so f***ing awesome.. Tonight just shows that we are the best team in the Nation.. Whenever we are down when its crunch time we turn it up and one of our big 3 takes over the game.. I love how when we get down I dont even have to sweat it at all, because I KNOW they are going to come storming back.. Its so awesome to watch this team play... love it

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) are you kidding me? back in the 90s the simpsons was incredible. now it's "lets see how dumb we can make homer/ lets see how many stupid guest apperances we can make." i cant stand to watch the new episodes. Either way, the Simpsons is what it is.. the new ones may not be as good as the 90's but I will still watch.. and btw texsox, KnuckleSox IMed me and told me to tell you "Hes coming Back" but I dont think he is, but he told me to say it so I did

I hope you dont mean Derrick Johnson because there is no way the Bears could get Mike Williams and Derrick Johnson, they are both top 15 picks in this draft..
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Take that maybe out, what they've done in the era of free agency is absolutely remarkable. Man I hate the Patriots so much.. Everyone wants to talk Dynasty but yet no one bring ups the fact that they didnt even make the playoffs two years ago Im also sick of the "free agency era" excuse... its not too hard to keep your core of stars and build around that with role players.. All the Patriots have done is draft well, it has nothing to do with the FA era.. They have drafted well and gotten players to buy into Bellichecks system.. Simple as that f***ing patsies
  19. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) I'd do a prediction for the Bears with full research, but my problem with that is that I would be torn between what I want them to do and what I think they will do. For instance, I would want them to add Walter Jones, but I really don't think they will go that route, especially if he gets the franchise tag. Thats why I did what they prolly will do with realistic thinking into it..

QUOTE(kwill @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) I was wondering if anyone else read that article on espn.com about the 2006 free agents. We obviously have some of our own like Frank( we wont pick up his option) and Paul. I imagine Paul we will resign for somewhere 9 million dollar per season, but i really dont think we would resign Frank. We would probably have about 10 million to spend next offseason. I was wondering what guys do you think we should be intrested in. One guy i think we could go after is Aramis Rameriez if Crede doent produce this year. Here is a list of guys that are 2006 free agents: Mike Piazza Sammy Sosa Bernie Williams Nomar Garciaparra Rafeal Furcal Jonny Damon Tim Hudson Billy Wagner Lance Berkman Carlos Lee Brian Giles Aramis Rameriez Bret Boone That is just to name a few. I can see us going after a closer since shingo contract is up also. I dont believe we would even try for any outfielder. Hudson is going to get a truck load of money. What do you guys think? No need for Ramirez since we got Fields for the future Out of that list I think Furcal would be the best addition.. we could dump Crede (if he doesnt work out) put Uribe at 3B Furcal at SS and Harris/Iguchi at 2nd that would give us even MORE speed..
  21. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) #1 on that list is to ban Nascar, poker, and any other BS activities from calling themselves sports... I couldnt agree more
