He's a really good pitcher that should still be in the White Sox rotation. He's not, and the only reason for that is because the Sox wouldn't pay him what hes worth. It's the same reason were about to lose Crochet as well. Like I said, it sucks.

This is a little differernt of a situation though. Im sure there is a limit he has for the amount of innings he was to pitch this season. If he gets to that cap, you're basically asking him to compromise his health for the benefit of only the team.

Crochet has plenty of leverage, if he says hes not pitching in the post season the team that trades for him can't make him.

It absolutely kills negotiations because I can't imagine a scenario where a team wants to trade for him and sign him to whatever extension hes looking for in the next few days. There's way too much risk in that for another team who as of right now knows nothing at all about him. And if you believe what has been reported, the Sox already tried to talk extension with him and it went nowhere immediately which tells me his ask is probably not realistic.

Who the hell is going to agree to sign him to an extension in the next 5 days lol? Its crazy.

If this trade deadline is just Fedde and then a bunch of garbage nothing trades, talk about making a shitty season even worse.

If Crochet is saying hes not pitching in the playoffs unless he gets a contract extension I think you can pretty much forget about trading him until the off-season.

Man, I am all in on getting Justin Crawford. I would need another piece with Abel but that seems pretty fair to me and am hopeful its true.

The absolute worst decision that was made was JR saying he couldn't afford to lose time. Hell, I would be way more accepting of a 120 loss season had he tore this thing down to the studs and had a very thorough search for an entire new baseball operation. Instead, what is happening right now is what he said he was avoiding with the hiring of Getz.

This is the most frustrating part. Grifol should have been fired when this team started 3-22. Its completely unacceptable. There is no benefit what so ever to keeping him through the end of the season, however, there was at least a chance this team could have been slightly better with a change in leadership. This team was going to be bad regardless, but if you could have given yourself a chance to not be the worst team in baseball history, they should have had enough pride to try and avoid that. Instead, they are content with this disaster.

They should do a lot of things, you're a fan of a team that has never signed someone to a contract greater than $75 million I wouldn't be getting attached to any superstar players that put on this uniform.

2023: 38 HR's - 80 RBIS - 27 Solo HR's, from a guy that is batting 3rd for 100+ games. Oof. 2024: 11 HR's - 23 RBIS - He has 6 solo HR's and 5 2-Run HRs. There has never been more than 1 person on base for any HR he has hit this season. I would say you are correct sir.
