  1. Yeah but what does Sports Guy have to say about it, that’s the only Os opinion I care about
  2. I think everyone but Maldonado is out OPSing the pillar
  3. I’m glad that happened, was worried they were going to come back and win but like clockwork the Vaughn/Benintendi combo ended all hope
  4. The longer this goes on the more I believe this was the plan all along and they don’t care what happens this season.
  5. I can live with that. Vaughn has put up 0.1 bWAR in almost 3.5 seasons, hes pretty much as valuable as Courtney Hawkins anyways.
  6. Yeah and im not trying to say that guys like Vaughn and Madrigal had no business being picked where they were, its no secret our player development hasnt been that great. If im running a draft, im not interested in Andrew Vaughn or Nick Madrigal. I don't want to draft a 1B or 2B, ill spend money in free agency on that. I go balls to the wall on premium positions. SS, CF, SP. Every draft, every time.
  7. A new voice with a different approach would be worth the change if it meant winning 60 games instead of 45. I don't know how you can justify it being pointless. There is a difference between making a change and finishing the season improved as opposed to batting the worst player in baseball 5th every night and winning ~50 games.
  8. I think it has more to do with the profile of player that was drafted as opposed to the actual draft position. When I see them take low ceiling college players, yeah, not surprised they didn't work out. Now look at guys like Montgomery and Schultz who rapidly ascended the top 100 prospect lists. We take a Jacob Gonzalez, probably to try and once again fast track a draftee to an MLB sore spot (2B). I see people clamoring for Colt Emerson in a Robert trade to Seattle. They could have just drafted him instead of Gonzalez. I know this is hindsight, but if you aren't drafting high upside toolsy players, you're not going to get high upside toolsy players. Like an Andrew Vaughn/Nick Madrigal/Jacob Gonzalez will never turn into a 5 tool player. They may become decent to good MLB players, but they aren't going to just turn into some superstar.
  9. By definition, yeah that’s not accurate but I’m pretty sure he meant he’s from the white Sox “family”
  10. These guys are going to get killed against Baltimore
  11. He’s just as fucking lame as Benetti was.
  12. Beni had that diving catch the other day, he’s earned it
  13. I was just coming to comment on that, holy hell its going to take a miracle to win this one.
  14. He probably is going to be good, but again, were talking about 11 starts here and have no idea how hes going to hold up under a starters workload. I would personally trade him either in the off-season or by next deadline. That's a tough decision when you're talking about a 25 year old SP that's performing but this roster is so devoid of talent its going to take several years to even get back to being a .500 club and by that time you are going to be losing him anyways. This is also under the assumption that the White Sox will not be able to meet/want to pay what it would cost to extend Crochet if he is indeed one of the better SP in baseball. I can't imagine he takes a sweetheart deal here, he already bet on himself with this SP move hes probably going to be looking to cash in on that success.
  15. We don't even know if Crochet is a good SP yet. He has been excellent in May, but he also came out of 7 March/April starts with an ERA of 5.97. I think you at least need to ride out this year and see 1.) How he performs and 2.) Is he healthy? before you start kicking the tires on an extension.
  16. I feel like it would be wildly irresponsible to give someone $55 million guaranteed after 11 starts. At least for this organization.
  17. Almost 1 month later, Gallo remains at 0.2 WAR while Freeman is now at 1.4 ?
  18. Does he even do that anymore?
  19. Well 80% of this roster is garbage veterans who won't be here next year. Hopefully we at least get a second half filled with kids.
  20. Absolutely, but seems to me the thought process is if were going to be bad might as well not pay two people to be bad.

Im alarmed at how off base your perception of this message board is.

We've needed a 2B and RF since 2020 and those positions still to this day have yet to be filled.
  23. Which makes me think that maybe he has already been told hes the manager no matter what happens this year.
  24. T R U replied to flavum's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Its cool, we have a wave coming. Its how it works.
  25. T R U replied to flavum's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Next years team will 100% be more fun as we should start seeing some of the kids coming up. There is 0% chance the White Sox are over .500 in the 2026 season. You are talking about hitting on a prospect rate that is not realistic.
