  1. I don't think Sandy not starting Sunday should lead us to be concerned about an injury. Ozzie was just getting Burke some playing time. I really don't want to call up Borch, have him put up some monster numbers, then have Maggs come back and Borch get sent back down or worse... benched.
  2. Very well, I will be there and providing PBP for those who need it.
  3. His stats against RHP are still a cause for concern, but I believe he will be able to improve them. Having Sandy by his side has to help immensely. Mark better get used to pitching to Miguel, because Sandy isn't going to be around much longer. But, no matter who we are pitching, it is an absolute MUST that he starts against LHP. He's obliterating them. I hope Miguel improves his numbers against RHP during the course of the season, that would help his cause greatly. Right now I still feel platooning them, but giving Miguel the edge in game started is the wisest way to go. The ones in the Gammons thread about 3rd Basemen and Catchers for Beltran?
  4. The double indicates that Sosa probably figured him out. Maybe he's not as dumb as we think. I was 90% sure he'd go up there flailing and wanting to "show those minor leaguers who's boss." Who knows.
  5. If things are anything like that 5 game series at Wrigley late last year, the Cards are toast too. They got completely b****smacked that series.
  6. I can't believe it, all Rangers fans must be assholes. The funny part is that he was egging the crowd on, he must have been really messed up, on booze or something.
  7. Me too, I'd rather have the easy schedule in the heat of a pennant race than in the beginning of the year. Look on the bright side, while we've been playing the hard teams and Minnesota has been playing the easy teams, we've kept pace, and we're pretty much tied for this division.
  8. The pushover they were for other teams that tried.
  9. You hit it right on the head. One of Anderson, Sweeney, Reed, Borchard should pan out! We don't need Beltran, but we do need Olivo. Olivo is out future.
  10. Takatsu won't get it because of two reasons: 1) He's old 2) He plays for the White Sox Part of Matsui's getting it last year has to be some of the old NYY influence. But really, people coming from what is considered a major league level, just in a different country, should not be eligible.
  11. The articles of ignorance and blind faith are gone. Don't think the Royals will be such a pushover those last 7 games, they will probably fight us to the bone.
  12. Ouch, that sounds bad. Clemens getting rocked and Prior kicking ass. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2004 NL Central Champions, the Cubs. It really is inevitable, unfortunately.
  13. Bobby Hill is really the only one I know, you'd figure since they've been selling off so many of their older players, they'd be recieving decent talent, and it's not like that talent is going places. I can't name any because I don't know any, I guess I just assumed so since they've traded so many older players.
  14. Hey, skybox are the s***. Tons of food, and if you don't feel like dealing with drunken Cub fan assholes, your all alone. You guys have fun, I don't have the cash to spend here.
  15. Well it's not like our newspapers say diddily about the Twins games. They're stuck in the back pages with all other baseball recaps (minus Sox and Cubs). That's how the Herald is, at least.
  16. Ummm... you know you're not exactly a good prospect if the Pirates give up on you.. the Pirates have been stockpiling good prospects.
  17. LMAO just wait till the second half, Minny will have to deal with the Yanks and I believe the A's and Angels... may not be correct on that. We also haven't even played a game against the Tigers yet, but they probably won't be the pushover they were last year.
  18. If the Cubs were smart, they'd have some jackass mascot that's a bear. No one wants to see a dirty sock running around, and no one knows what the hell a Phillie is, so why not go with the crazy looking alien-esque mascot that no one really knows what it is? I like it.
  19. I hope you voted for Frank Thomas... I'll do my voting. I've already at random times done some voting, but not all of my votes. Anyways, how much say does Torre have in it anyways?
  20. When you have teams with tons of bandwagoners like Boston, New York, and the Cubs, they're gonna vote for every player on their team, which is why bench players like Mark Bellhorn have more votes than superstars like Frank Thomas. Managers and players should really have the choice in this.
  21. I'd take Ugueth. He played for Ozzie, and unless he has some qualms with Ozzie, will do his best to pitch his best for Ozzie. I'd hope so, at least.
  22. A Yankee fan would be annoying but it wouldn't be so bad since they're not super-rivals of the White Sox.
  23. Whoa whoa whoa whoa! HOLD THE PHONE. If we even think to trade future all-star Miguel Olivo for a 1/2 year rental for old Carlos Beltran, we are IDIOTS. Period.
  24. New York had two teams, and they're already a major market. But thats a little different, I suppose.
