  1. Barons off, Dash PPD. Knights lost 5-2. Kanny plays tonight.
  2. Kevin Moran starting tomorrow for Kannapolis. I guess that means Steven Upchurch is officially a reliever now. Hopefully we hear his velocity jumped.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) Would make sense I suppose. Never been to Kelsey's, been to Kendall's a bunch, so that's why I brought it up. Great deal. It's the same owners. Same deals at both places.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 07:55 PM) Petricka is almost 23. Might he be too advanced for the Sally League? First full pro season. No rush with him. Knights won game 2 Barons lost 4-3 Oh yeah and Kanny's 16 inning game was the first of a doubleheader. Game 2 was a 4-1 win.
  5. Dash won 4-2 Mitchell 0-5, 4 K. Yikes
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) So Petricka, Reed, and Heidenrich are the high ceiling pitchers to follow this year, right? Kanny has a solid pitching staff. Petricka, Heidenreich, Arroyo, Upchurch and Buch are all decent to good prospects. Reed came out of the pen today. I can't say I like that, but at least the 5 guys that will be starting have some potential. Knights won game 1 of their doubleheader Dolsi with a strong start.
  7. Kanny's doubleheader and Charlotte both got postponed already. Barons @ Montgomery Leesman Dash @ Kinston Rienzo 4 IP, R, 4 K, BB, 3 H
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 12:33 AM) Also, I'm sure I've asked already last year, but who is Terry Doyle, is why is he seemingly dominating all the time, but not getting any notice or promotion? I mean, he is in his 4th pro year, and has yet to post a K/BB lower than 2.91 at any level. He just doesn't seem to have enough arm strength though. It seems he only goes 4-5 innings each time. Wonder if it's pitch count, or lack of stamina. He dominated with Kannapolis early last year. He is older than the guys he is facing, and dominating like it. He will be in AA shortly if he throws a few more starts like this. They moved him up quickly last year.
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 30, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) My favorite Four Corners bar is definitely Crossing. One of my favorite bars in the city. A) My good friend lives directly across the street from the Crossing and I know one of the DJs. In fact you've probably hit on someone from my high school there. B ) It's a Kansas bar. C) Not a fan of that place. Mediocre at best. You should go to Kelsey's or Kendall's on Lincoln.
  10. Barons won 1-0 Axelrod 5 IP, 8 K, BB, 2 H Ken Williams Jr. led off ha. Jones and Infante with 2 IP each out of the pen. Kanny lost 2-0 Trayce 1-4, 2B, 2 K Blanke 0-4 Buch 6 IP, R, 4 K, 0 BB, H
  11. Kanny roster is online.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) Maniscalo is a senior transfer. Oh yeah forgot about him. That's a big help. The bottom half of the Big Ten should be pretty bad so it won't be a 7 bid league next year, but the lack of depth will probably hurt their resume.
  13. Freshman point guard and inexperienced bigs? Sounds like NIT to me.
  14. So what does that do to Illinois' starting lineup next year? Richardson and Paul are the go to guys with some combination of unproven guys in the frontcourt. How many freshmen start?
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Would you rather have him or Ben J. from UNI? Jacobsen I guess. Haith plays a slow tempo, which I find boring. It was fun to have a unique, up tempo style.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) Lots of doubt now about whether or not Missouri's Board of Trustees will approve Haith after all the outrage. I think that's wishful thinking at best.
  17. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 12:18 AM) I know, it's very odd. I'm guessing Kyle Bellamy is being assigned to Charlotte. Escobar too. Bellamy would be surprising after how he ended last year.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) Difference of course is that Haith sucked for 7 years not 2 and there are no Guz Malzahns in college basketball and I doubt Missouri will be buying the best player in college basketball. And in reality I thought Chizik was doing well to get things going at Iowa State. As someone who follows the Big 12, I respected Chizik. It's not the type of hire a school like Auburn typically makes, but I thought he was doing positive things there. Not sure I see the same things about Haith.
  19. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 11:01 PM) I was right, the tentative Barons roster is out and Jon Gilmore is missing from the active 24. Justin Greene is also missing, but Nevin Griffith is on it. Link Only 11 hitters and 4 infielders (I'm not counting Kuhn). That can't be right.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 11:58 PM) That's actually not the worst plan on paper. Sure as heck would be better than keeping this guy. (Please be Gene Chizik)
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 11:51 PM) As an Iowa State fan, I like this news. Could also mean Frank Martin heading home. Yeah this is all an elaborate plan to make Martin leave the conference. Once he takes the Miami job Mizzou can fire Haith and get a real coach.
  22. Mizzou just hired Frank Haith? WTF? Really hoping this isn't true, but it's sounding pretty real. Zen, I think you should be thanking my school for taking this s***ty coach off your hands. WTF.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) UConn beat Duke who was a No. 1 seed in the final 4 that year and that UConn team was the best team in the country but had some injuries during the season IIRC which is the only reason they weren't a No. 1 seed. Good point. That means it will be the first time ever. Weird tournament.
  24. If UConn wins tomorrow it will only be the second time a team that wasn't a No. 1 seed won the national title without beating a No. 1 seed. The other was UConn in 2004. Go figure.
  25. On the upside at least it's an injury holding him back. It wouldn't be a good sign if he was in extended two years in a row and was healthy.
